Accessing Website Statistics at Dreamhost
By Toni on November 7th, 2008 in Dreamhost
Q. Where are my stats on my Dreamhost account?
A. To log into your stats just go to: http://yourdomainatDH.com/stats (replacing yourdomainatDH.com with your own domain name).
Q. What’s my user name and password for Dreamhost stats?
A. Your username is your main Web ID and can be found under Web Panel > Stats – click the edit wrench under the “#Users w/ Access column” beside the domain name of the stats you wish to access (it’s probably the same name for all your domains).
The password is the same password you use to access the web panel.
Q. I can’t access my stats — I get a 404 page not found error.
A. If you are using CMS/blogging software – you may need to edit your .htaccess file in order to view stats. This is a known issue for WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and Textpattern installs on Dreamhost servers. You can read how to change your .htaccess file to view stats here.
Q. Can I Access my Dreamhost stats via ssh/telnet?
A. Yes: an alternative method to view your stats is via a ssh/telnet terminal session.
i.e. putty / ssh into yourdomainatDH.com.
Change to the ~/logs/yourdomainatDH.com/http/html directory.
Example session:
ssh user@yourdomainatDH.com cd logs/yourdomainatDH.com/http/html links index.html
Then open the index.html page in a terminal browser.
