I have been using Dreamhost for the past two years, hardly any problems so far.

I would recommend Dreamhost and BlueHost..

BlueHost is also worth a shot if you're willing to choose a long term payment/contract. BlueHost is same company as HostMonster I think.

Thanks - I was already thinking about Hostgator as a possibility probably because I see their ads everywhere! It's good to get a recommendation though. I'll check them out and also those other ones you mentioned to make a comparison.

My first thought is HostGator - huge company, unlimited everything, and runs on cPanel.

HostRocket has a similar setup, I won a free hosting account with them years ago... only stayed for the free time because I had other servers... but didn't have any complaints.

Lunarpages, Liquidweb and Site5 are a few other hosts I think you might want to check out.

Good luck!

HostGator is worth a look. They are very cheap (starting at $5/mo, IIRC), very popular (like DreamHost) but use cPanel rather than a custom control panel.

They offer a dedicated 'seo hosting' package with multiple class C IPs via seohosting.com, too.

I've been using Dreamhost for a while and I'm happy with the reliability of their servers and the (email) customer support is fine. I'm about to launch about 10 new WordPress sites in the next few weeks and as they will all be cross linking, I want to split the sites over a couple of different hosts so that they don't all have the same footprint.

Can anyone suggest a host that is comparable to Dreamhost in terms of scale and reliabilty, but that is also as cheap? Also, it would be good to go back to Cpanel interface as that is more standard that the Dreamhost custom panel.
