Hi,

Which virtualization technologies do you prefer? We are using KVM, Virtuozzo and OpenVZ fro now and testing Xen in order to find out how could it work for our purposes. What about you?

I've always hosted all my sites in the US. I now need UK hosting for a small project, and wanted to hear recommendations for budget shared hosting in the UK. Love to hear other's experiences. Any recommendations?

Everyone offers plain ol' FTP for content transfer, but the really good hosting systems offer one or more of the following:

* SSH (full shell access)

* SFTP (implied by SSH, but may be offered in a limited form by some hosts)

* FTPS (standard FTP protocol over TLS/SSL)

It would be nice to know if a provider offers one or more of these encrypted file transfer formats. SSH itself is a nice data point; if offered, that means there are more tools at the user's disposal to help maintain the site.

From their newsletter:

Holiday specials:
Transfer your .com/.net/.org domains to Namecheap for just $6.99 using SWITCH2NC as the coupon. Or use SNOWNEEDLE for a discount on new registrations.

Doesn't say when they expire... but I'm assuming they'll be good until at least the new year.

Is any chance to remove a site from your database ?
This is because Google lists everything showing complete address phone etc etc
In my country there is a Law that enable to take legal action when Private Info are listed in Pubblic list and not authorized by the person.

I just got my prgmr VPS after waiting for them to have more space and I'm pretty happy with it. It's not for the faint of heart but I'm a huge fan.

Anyone else using prgmr?

Hi, I've finally tracked BeachServer down as the host to my WordPress site. I was under the impression HostGator was my host. Because I chose HostGator and activated Fantastico thru a HostGator cPanel link, which is now invalid.

I have emails from Fantastico telling me my WordPress installations are not up to date. My site is telling me that the domain name for my site - "is up for grabs". Is this because of Fantastico not being up to date?

Have I got two problems or can't I access my WordPress site because Fantastico is out of date?

How do I update Fantastico installations on my WordPress site.

Can anybody help me please?

Hi,

Few of my sites are based on WordPress with Hosting on GoDaddy.
When I try to import the content, the run time is very less and the entire file doesn't get uploaded..

So, is it possible to increase the run time of the scripts on Godaddy. Previously I tried changing the php.ini and .htaccess files, but, no luck :(
