The front page news articles we all read, most of the time have another source.
When sharing these stories on your site, or linking to them from your site, what is too much to get the reader interested.
Do you copy the first paragraph then give a link to the actual article, or the first few sentences. What is too much when linking to news stories.
I ask this out of curiosity and to possible prove a point to a friend (we all know, everyone likes to be right).
Interesting answer to that very topic:
Surely 'The Essential Global New.s Network' can't be worth $12.50 - it doesn't even have a Trademark, nor is it copyrightable, it is too abstract. Last time I tried, water WAS essential, news was not.
The AP example seems like a good case of Big Media not getting how the internet as a medium changes things like this. Just reading a great book on this very topic: What Would Google Do?
That is ridiculous, there is no way I would never pay that much to copy and paste.
I think I'm going to buy that book, I really liked the guys video.
Interested to hear what you make of the Jeff Jarvis book. It's certainly given me plenty to think about.
