Installing Apps Server-Wide

  1. I lease a dedicated server from hostgator, and I'm considering installing some server-wide applications (as opposed to installing them multiple times at the account level) and then offering them to my existing website clients as up-sale options.

Apps like vTigerCRM (http://www.vtiger.com) or KeePass (http://www.keepass.info)

Does anyone have experience doing this?

  2. Interesting topic. I've looked at doing something similar with WordPress Mu, but never got beyond playing around with demo installations.

Certainly looks a viable option for Linux servers.

It looks like vTiger http://vtiger.com can integrate well with Drupal http://drupal.org courtesy of a new paid addon.

vTiger also offers paid for support to help solve those issues regarding server deployment, rather than per account.

KeePass http://keepass.info has an issue with synchronization if multiple users are accessing it (the database) simultaneously.
