Whenever I have a problem, the live-on-the-phone folks at BlueHost are friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and they listen. So, my problems always get solved. They will walk me through the solution, wait while I go through the steps, offer suggestions, and then send me downloads and links if I need them. I compare ALL the support I get to BlueHost. BlueHost always wins.
They always are available to answer questions and never make me feel stupid for asking even obvious things. I have never had an issue with my site being down or with the tools Bluehost provides. I am very satisfied and recommend them to my friends who need web hosting services.
Bluehost is really good and I'm not sure if what I would like to be able to do is from Bluehost or Wordpress... but my biggest problem is wanting to put my articles in a particular order so that they appear only once on each area and to have a "more" arrow on the bottom of the page instead of the "older posts".
I've been using Bluehost for a number of years. Brought here when one of my clients was already using Bluehost. Their support and availability to my particular needs has worked well. I have several other sites that I'll be moving.as the current host has proven to be a little less than accommodating.
Email is frequently in and out. I can only suspect my sites are doing the same. Your chat support has plummeted to an all time low. They're not knowledgeable, screw things up, and are not customer-focused. When I asked for a manager last time I saw stonewalled, so now I still have to call to get my issue resolved. I'm planning on moving everything to a new host as soon as I can make the time.
Poor support from sales and tech support regarding an add on service. "Advance Search" $ 12.99 per month.Tech support could not tell me how the app works, keep sending me to sales, sales send me to billing, billing back to sales then to SOLO SEO who does not answer phone. If I don't know how the add on service works or if it is working, then I need to find out
Through my experience of using BlueHost, i think that's it's one of the best hosting providers, but it has also some cons that could probably influence in its reputation. One of the best things i like about BlueHost is that their server is 99% reliable. That means that there are rarely some downtimes and when they are, they make sure to fix it asap! I like also how easy they make things when you want to sign up for them: smooth & easy registration process, many apps integrations, official wordpress.org intergration... And of course let's not forget their low pricing!
But as i've said earlier, there are some cons that they should DEFINITIVELY consider in order to gain more trust. One of the things i hate about them is that the site is very slow in loading! And their customer service isn't the best (they should definitively look for a better customer service). And if you're just starting in building your website, i suggest that you learn how to host and manipulate things in your hosting first (there are a lot of youtube videos teaching this) and then apply for their service because their tutorials and walk-through videos are SO EXPENSIVE!
All in all, i think that BlueHost is really a good host for beginners and if they can work on their cons, they may be the top in hosting!
I am a webmaster who manages a number of sites, most of which were previously on bluehost.
I have had nothing but trouble with bluehost. I manage a number of sites, including our company website, and their support was unhelpful at best. My almost brand new (ie, not bogged down) WP installation was dealing with 10-15 second load times, if it would load at all. And another site was taken offline for almost 3 days due to bluehost's database issues, and as I was transferring a third away from them, the server itself crashed, leaving me without my site's data for the rest of the day, and the site offline.
I'm not sure if their infrastructure is crumbling or if it's just incompetency, but in 2 months, 3 separate sites (hosted on 3 separate boxes...I checked) all experienced relatively serious issues.
In other words, I am staying clear of bluehost, and moving all my clients away from them as soon as I'm able. Stay clear.

I have been a loyal customer of bluehost hence I believe that this hosting website deserves a positive review. I have been a customer for above 6-7 years and now and in all this while, I haven’t received anyserious issues that would lead me to change my hosting website. The technical support team always have responded to my queries and questions instantly, which is exactly what you expect from a good hosting website. My website is generally a guest house to a lot of traffic and the servers handle it beautifully. Almost all of the problems I have faced were taken care of under an hour. I have 3 email accounts and offer me a total of 250MB of webmail which is not much, but what I pay is sufiente .
The interface is OK , because if you want to access the part of hosting you have to do from a tab and email from another . Mail received are not saved in bluehost if I have it set to be saved in my gmail , but I do not like this option.
In short , I think I 'll keep looking for other hosting companies to continue next year.

I have 6 websites hosted on this hosting and rarely dropped the price is $3.95/month monthly is a good price for a professional hosting bluehost as recommend it to eyes closed several of my friends have hosting this website and without any problem I I found out this hosting on an old forum where participated, there is recommended by the admin and since that date the isgo using.
I can connect to ftp without problems with the program ftp filezilla without any problem only once I could not connect and use cuteftp and all ok hosting you can buy x a year or more you can accommodate all your q domains you want.
I took with them about 4 months and I can not say nothing but good things about the service they offer. At first I hesitated because it was not in Spain and the price + unlimited word , did not give me a good feeling about the truth. I was with Bluehost for 6 years! Yes 6 years. Their uptime has been a real issue to me lately so I had to move away. I tried to generate a full Cpanel backup, failed. Tried to download files via FTP, worked ok. Tried to generate backups for Mysql Databases, failed. Tried again the following week, failed. Complained about it, issue was not resolved. Now my account has expired, and they are forcing me to renew my account to get the databases, which is completely ridiculous. I will never suggest anyone and not even my worst enemy to host their sites with Bluehost, ever again.
I used BlueHost always, I am a user for 10 years, the truth I have never had serious problems that would make me want to switch hosting. The technical service has been quick to answer my questions and problems. In 10 years that use has been fallen from my web but nothing major that has not been solved in less than an hour, as I have websites that receive lots of traffic do not really affect these micro falls that occur very infrequently when.

As for service, I can say very good, respond quickly and almost 80% with the right solution, the only problem is that this plays in English, a ticket or message in English.
The control panel (cPanel) very easy to use, say that very graphic, descriptive icons on who does what.
The service is quite stable, when something happens you are reporting almost immediately by mail.
From my point of view I really liked to use, very good investment, in story to technical support and agility of response give it a 10, the only trouble is that only this in English, I think it would be good if they extend to Spanish, especially technical support.

I took about 2 months working with whoistingthis and one of the things I have happy is the speed of response. Regardless of when you have come to help, they have not taken more than 10 minutes to help me. I recently had to make some massive changes in my server. I was staying 2 domain and wanted to reorganize their locations, and add a third party to host the wordpress the first domain, so that this first change completely. I have a few years with two hosting services and multiple domains contracted with this company and I have to accept that are competitively priced when registering domains which I liked, very often have the domains (which are expensive competitors ) in promotion for very affordable prices if you sign up for several years. Allow you to change the DNS from your administration panel and that is a plus, of all xpress reviewed hostings only has the problem of not letting change so easily. Besides registering a domain have some sort of agreement with not one but does that is online in a few hours , when normally have to wait 24-72 hours for the domain name withdrawal.

I've been with BlueHost for over 3 years now - I bought 36 month hosting (as it works out cheaper per month than 12 months or 24 months) - and had very minimal complaints.
I currently host my own blog and the blogs for some friends. There were occasionally tricky things, such as figuring out that I needed to make sure my IP was whitelisted when I wanted to remote access the MySQL database - but once I made a note in my config to remember that, it hasn't been a problem.
There were some points when it seemed that the page loading times were a bit slow, but I have not noticed that recently.
The main reason for my high review is that when I received the renewal notice (I appreciate the 3-month, 2-month and 1-month warnings - I don't act on them immediately) I was quite shocked that the renewal price (about $11.99/mo) was more than double my initial price (about $4.99/mo). I did some research and found out that this was because it had been a promotion for new customers, etc. I was all set for going with another host, but before I bit the bullet, I decided to contact BlueHost customer service. To make a long story short, after I explained the situation, the customer service agent spoke to a manager and then came back to say they would offer me a renewal price that actually was a few pence cheaper than my initial price 3 years ago - the moral of the story being, you don't ask, you don't get!
I was happy to sign on for another 36 months at that price, having had no major complaints about the service, and preferring to avoid the hassle of switching to another host (for the medium package, no one else beat the price anyway). I recently set up a couple of new simple blogs and it was very quick to do and use. I'm not sure if someone requiring business hosting will find all their needs met by BlueHost, but in my case as someone hosting a few personal sites for myself and friends, I have no complaints - and I appreciate BlueHost's valuing me as a customer by offering me a good deal.
Out of all the hosting providers I have used, Bluehost has actually been one of my favorites despite the many negative reviews I've read to the contrary. Whether I am 'lucky' or not, I'll say a few things about their service that may be helpful to those hosting with them. First, they are really accommodating with multiple add-on domain issues and cron problems, also issues with mod-security on linux apache installs. They were helpful when I was first playing around and learning about how to set up add-on domains.
Clearly when you have a lot of wordpress installs on the same shared hosting, it eats up your 'inode' limits that the host sets for your account (inodes being not the size of your files, but a system that the hosting company uses to basically limit your file usage ... by counting how many bits of 'data' you end up using).
So in my case I was playing around with various configurations like php.ini files and htaccess. Since I was still learning basic site administration, I was really learning through trial and error. Whenever I've run into issues and get stuck (lol always backup your data!), I usually get a quick response from them and they'll confirm with me if an issue was on their end or mine. Also if I was able to change something vs. not change something on my shared hosting server.
Basically if a newbie or intermediate site admin is looking for a reliable place to administer their own HTML or wordpress sites, Bluehost definitely has great value in my experience and even now they continue to do so.
So I've been using BlueHost for a while now to host my personal website, And I'll say I'm pretty satisfied with their services the only problems I had were the fact that connecting to MySQL doesn't always seem to work can't figure out why yet. The other problem I faced with the service was that a image on the server kept being removed after a period of time without notice. Other than that everything worked fine I could easily login to the server, FTP was also easy to access. Overall I like their service they offer enough free plans for you to try out and see if it fits your business.
About 3 years ago I decided that I wanted to make a personal website, and knew absolutely nothing about domains, web design, and hosting. I went to Bluehost, scanned the cheap pricing, registered my FREE domain that Bluehost provides, signed up for a fairly cheap price, and started monkeying around with it.

Within 2 hours I had added my domain, installed Wordpress (an easy to use website builder), and created an exceptionally good looking & fully functional site.
You have immediate access to all your files in Files Manager, so there's no need to use FTP. The interface is also completely arrangeable to your liking.
2. Customer Support
BlueHost support is top notch. They have over 60 user friendly video tutorials, a live forum, email contact, and 24/7 phone support. If you're serious about your business, website, blog, etc. then it's vital to have this kind of immediate access to help.
Their phone support is incredible. NO, you don't get some guy who can barely speak English. The staff there is friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and real people who aren't just stuck to some script.
My blog one night at 2:00 PM crashed due to a PHP error in my code. I called them up without having to wait, the guy remotely went into my files and fixed everything. I've also accidentally deleted some important files...no problem I just sent an email and within minutes they'd restored my entire site from their backup system which runs nearly every hour.

Unlimited Domain Hosting - I have a little over 100 domains hosted with Bluehost, and there hasn't been a single problem. Host as many as you'd like. Also what's nice is that Bluehost keeps track of when you're domains are going to expire, and will warn you ahead of time to renew.
Let me just start out by saying that this company has the best support of any company I’ve ever had to call a support line for in my entire life. I one time was fiddling with files in an FTP client for my blog, and I clicked the wrong something and brought the whole site down. (I’m not particularly technical and what I was doing was over my head) I called BlueHost, and the gentleman on the other end was able to figure out what I did wrong and explain to me how to do it properly in the future. I never wait for more than a couple minutes when I have had to call them, and they have all sorts of guides and videos to help along the way in their help center. Long story short on the support team over at Bluehost is I hope you mess something up and have to call them like I did. Bet you anything you’ll be recommending them after that.
But be careful with some of the upsells they offer you are complete garbage. For instance, the SEO package is absolutely useless. You should want to learn SEO because it is extremely valuable. Any paid SEO service through a hosting provider is a waste of money, though.
It's the third hosting I've used for my agency website, which I truly believe to be the last one.:)
For the previous godaddy and a free hosting, I always have this or that kind of problem, like port is not enabled, website is down from time to time, my site could not be backup in time... etc. But this time, I have not a single problem, I have to say bluehost staff is quite professional and dedicated to the work, they have absolutely deep knowledge about hosting, optimization, migration... etc, 9 out of 10 times my issue is resolved within the live chat, not even in ticket.
I'm so glad I'm working with a reputated company that truly cares about their customer.

Overall it's a great host, and here is a bit of personal thoughts:)
- Cost effective, cheap pricing with flexible plans(Standard performance is good enough already)
- Unlimited bandwidth, though it's still long way to go for my small site to get decent traffic, it's surely a great plus.
- Pro&friendly staff
- For the cheapest option, I would still suggest they could change to unlimited space
- Email storage a bit small, though it's good for my current site. I would need to upgrade later on.

The server runs répido and stable, the activation it has also been , and correct support by chat and email as well. CURRENTLY Do I have 5 Pages in basic plan and work perfectly . Subdomains therefore Como redirections and Email will Perfection.

Well, I'm sort of a picky person while being a customer:), but bluehost never let me know for the past two years.
I have a blog style site with decent traffic, but even on a shared hosting plan, I could not feel obviously slowness, most page redirects complete within around 1-1.5 sec, though there is a bit of down time.(Mostly from their maintenance, upgrade...etc.)
The free site builder is easy to use, and I can get live support from 24/7, which is pretty impressive, as I know it's hard to cover the support from different areas due to big time zone.
I've chatted with their staff a few times, my issues are usually resolved at professional manner. These guys know what they are doing!
There is also one thing which I suggest, that I wish they could provide more dedicated ips for shared plans, and probably restrict number of hosts for the same server. Generally, it's good host from personal point of perspective.
I've been with Bluehost for quite a while.
Honestly I chose it just to test if it's better than my previous hosting - Hostgator.(I had terrible results with hostgator due to poor/slow customer service and down time!!). I don't really have much confidence initially. But the fact proves that it's definitely a right choice I made.
Not only did they migrated all the sites content seamlessly without any downtime, my visitors could not feel anything during the transition, but they even provide valuable information on the possible ways to improve my site(speed&seo). I highly appreciated the staff, as they are truly working from the perspective of customers, not just sales. that is what makes a customer feel confident and become a loyal customer.:) As far as the down time issue, I can see there is still a few times, but each time the duration is less than 30 seconds, I'm completely satisfied with that.

Over all if you run a normal website for a business or blog that is not crazy busy with traffic like BuzzFeed BlueHost is perfect, plus if your site is the next BuzzFeed etc you probably need your own server.
My over all rating of BlueHost is 9 / 10 as I have been with them for over 3 years so that must mean something.
On completion of 4 long years with Bluehost, I feel myself bound to express my satisfaction in best possible words for them. Before moving on to Bluehost, I had few bad experiences with many big names in hosting industry. Then I decided to give Bluehost a try and in 4 years they have never disappointed me. Uptime is 99.99% as what they advertise and I hardly get any down time for even busiest sessions on my websites.

I never looked for too much support, but yeah I prefer the uptime and security on everything. I just need these two things to be perfect and rest I can manage. And that's what bluehost provides.
Although it is not the cheapest host but it provides perfect low introductory packages for starters. Keeping in mind the popularity, I would say it is not expensive. It fits in every category. whether you're some starter or advanced user, bluehost has got you covered.
The security system is quite awesome in bluehost. The tools it offers are famous for combating the security threats. You can prevent the spam with ease by using the spamassassin tool. It supports cloudfare that helps to defend the DDOS attacks. Plus the hotlink protection prevents content stealing and also allows you to block IPs & secure web sessions.
The integration of apps makes it more user friendly. And on top of all these features, it provides 99% proven uptime. I am not saying this with my mind, I've personally tested it. The majority of hosts there claims to give 99% uptime but most of them failed to provide even 70%. But bluehost server time is the best thing about it. It makes bluehost stands out. I personally like it the most.
Every thing has pros and cons. Some of the cons of bluehost includes the slow speeds(very rare), like others it is also not truly unlimited, expensive starter guide and the bad customer support.

Well Bluehost is really good, especially for bloggers. I'm using them for my small sites. However I'm using their shared hosting plans for those sites, but I can say proudly that they are great value for money and I'm hell happy with them. The only problem I'd faced with them is the down time in a month. But I know that this is very normal also these down times never last for even 5 minutes, so they are very good for small sites and new bloggers. :)

I moved to Bluehost 2 years ago. I had been with 1and1 for 10+ years before that. I create and support websites and email services for numerous small businesses. I left 1and1 due to lousy support and email problems. Bluehost has been amazing. Email works well, spam filtering is built in if you enable it. Web sites load fast and have no artificial limitations (as with NODaddy). Chat support can take a few minutes to cue up, but they resolve your issue first time. I wanted to give Bluehost a boost after an extremely frustrating experience (still ongoing BTW) with NoDaddy. My client signed up for NoDaddy for 5 years with a managed wordpress site. Very simple. Getting stuff onto their servers (NoDaddy) is SLOW, times out, freezes, and disconnects. Right now I have a NoDaddy support ticket pending for over 24 hours because I (and NoDaddy support as well BTW) cannot upload a 500 KB plugin into wordpress. Either via WordPress or via FTP. Just freezes. Amazing to me that NoDaddy can stay in business. Go Bluehost!
BlueHost has many pros and a couple of cons. First off, the hosting options are numerous but well organized. There is Shared hosting, managed WordPress hosting, dedicated hosting, VPS hosting and all of the usual types. The uptime is pretty good, and I have only seen one instance where the site was down, and it went back up shortly.
You can purchase domains on BlueHost. Transferring domains is always a complication with hosts, and BlueHost is not an exception. If you have a domain elsewhere, you can change the settings to point to your BlueHost website. I believe the limit is 5 domains for the cheapest plan.
The support at Bluehost is pretty good. However the chat program they use is terrible. It is easy to forget that you are chatting with a support representative. The telephone support is okay, but not the best at helping users transfer domains. We got a domain that was stuck, mid-transfer for about a week. However, it got fixed eventually.
The cPanel for BlueHost works fine. It has the usual things like creating FTP logins, managing emails, and anything else you can think of. BlueHost is a good host with the essential features necessary to create a great website. If I could afford it, I would be paying for a dedicated server at BlueHost to try out what it is like.
One major con with the shared hosting plan is that it is shared hosting. Because BlueHost is a popular host, the lowest price plan is the most used. This means that the servers for the shared hosting can be a bit boggy at times. This is not really the fault of BlueHost, but there are literally over a thousand different sites on the server I am using. Some of the less popular hosts that offer shared hosting are much faster because the shared servers have less strain put on them.
One thing I like about BlueHost it doesn't get too complicated. There are many-many different plans, but everything is so organized and simplistic that anyone should be able to figure out how to set it up. If you have an issue, the support is available 24/7 to help you.
BlueHost also has a bunch of (slightly pricey but quality) professional services. There is Quick Start, which will help you get your site up and running, with 45 minute sessions of 80 dollars. Then, for 150 dollars, there is Site Transfer, in which they will migrate your websites from other hosts to BlueHost. The last is called Site Doctor, which is 250 dollars to fix problems such as hackers and malware to save your online presence. These services are very professional, though I do not need the first one. When I need to migrate a website, I just FTP all of the content and export the MySQL databases, and then re-import them. When I encounter malware/redirects to malicious websites on my site, I fix the problem myself. However it is nice to know that these services are available, if absolutely necessary.
My final statement: BlueHost rocks, because it is a great web host that offers really cheap pricing and services that much better quality then some other hosts that I have encountered.
Bluehost has been hosting my website since 2014, masonharrisphotography.com. Although I find the password generation system annoying, I was generally happy with the service. That was until this April when I decided to set up a new website - a secondary one as an extension to my wedding business. I contacted their online chat, and set everything up and paid for them to host the second domain. Much to my regret I then asked if I could maybe combine both site hosting packages to save money. The help guy said yes, he could do that for me. After some discussion it was agreed I would pay extra for them to handle this process as I am not very technical. I duly stumped up the cash. Weeks go and nothing happens. My contact there says 'he is not sure what is happening but will check with the site migration team." After several more confusing and contradictory emails he said it was all fixed and the two sites (masonharrisphotography.com and paganphotos.com) were now combined under one hosting package. When I check masonharrisphotography.com however today (Saturday 21 May) the site is effectively crippled. Nothing is showing except some HTML index code. I have lost all content and WordPress templates. Nobody at Bluehost is able to help me as their site migration team doesnt work weekends despite their promise of seven day technical support. Earlier in the week i also was contacted by their marketing manager after I complained, who promised to put one of his top people onto it. Not a word. So to recap. After giving Bluehost more business and being promised an easy 'streamlining' of two site hosting packages into one - and after paying them extra to take care of the technicalities for me - i have been left with a crippled website and no idea what is happening. Even more worryingly, every person i speak to HAS NO RECORD of my previous correspondence or payments. Based on my experience i would say their technical support is barely fit for purpose, and when they offer to make domain transfers easy, it's anything but the case.
I have been a Bluehost customer since 2003, until February I was a happy one, with many subdomains all working happily.
Out of the blue my two main blogs started hanging and not loading. When I tried to add a post I'd get database connection errors often. For a week I kept trying to get support to help with this, but they had no idea what the problem was. Suddenly they shut down my account because all those problems I was having were excessive server requests (from some change they did but never acknowledged. It's had problems ever since, including getting shut down twice more, the entire database disappearing twice, due to one of their automatic processes, and deleting all the backups.
Their support people see "user error" as the reason for all problems, you cannot get to higher levels of support, they are poorly trained -- the worst I've ever seen. They do not even do what they say they are doing.
This entire thing has cost me sleep, made me sick, and cost me customers.
I would not be moving my business if they had even made a small effort to help me. instead I'm moving & considering legal action against them.

Bluehost was recommended to me by a close friend who has used their service for many years. I signed up to use the service and set up my first business website. I then proceeded to build my first business website. I am a novice when it comes to websites, but I have 37 years of Information Systems experience in every area from Computer Operations to VP of Information Systems for a large corporation. .
After placing my website into production, I had some problems which I attributed to my own lack of experience. After I renewed my subscription for Bluehost website hosting recently, I received an email stating that my website had been suspended and would be deleted very soon if I didn't call them to rectify the situation. I spent 2 hours on hold with their Customer Service. When a representative finally answered the phone, I asked what the problem was. They hadn't even told me in the email. The representative was rude and condesending from the getgo. He told me that my website had been hacked and nothing could be done. They would be deleting the website immediately. They wouldn't give me any other information unless I signed up for their Support Services. Indeed, quite interestingly, my website was deleted the next day. I was not given any guidance about what I did to cause this problem (if I even did), and what could be done in the future to insure that this would not happen to my Business website again.
In my lengthy career in IT, I have dealt with large and small companies. Some of these have been IBM, Unisys, and Digital Equipment (DEC). At times, I would get a rare support person that wasn't interested, but I always was able to report the problem and a representative from the company would get back to me with a response and what steps had been taken to rectify the situation. Bluehost has no such structure in place. I have never experienced a company that has such an immature disregard for their clients! When attempting to contact Bluehost to report the incident, I could not get anyone to return my calls, emails, or letters. I was hung up on three times when making pointed requests to speak with any Management. Their business model obviously includes no regard for the Client.
I now have to rebuild the company's website from scratch. I was able to manually save the thousands of posts that were on the website. All other content was lost. I have had no response from the company regarding any help or even an apology. I am amazed that they have any clients at all. I am recommending to all of my extensive Executive contacts in IT that they bypass this company. .
This is the worst hosting we have ever use, server always down and when you need help and support you have to wait over 30mins , until someone answer your enquiries . But they will kick you out of the conversation when they cant slove the problem and never with an explanation . Never try to use this server ! This is the worst .
I've been with Bluehost for a bit over 7 years, and in the past have recommended them highly. It was easy to set up a site, the features were robust, I never had problems with downtime, and the customer service was friendly and helpful. For the past 5 years I've been running e-commerce on my plan. The past year though has soured me on them. After having some problems, the support tech convinced me that they would be solved with upgraded service. So that was an extra $360. Then after having a lot of downtime, a tech convinced me that paying another $90/year for CDN would make sure my site stayed up (this was less than a day before Black Friday, and my site had been down for something like 6 hours.) My site thankfully stayed up during that weekend, but since then I'll lose access at least once a week for a brief period of time, and fairly often for over an hour. Contacting tech support (even at 3am) means a minimum half hour wait, even when their chat says 10 minutes. After vague explanations of "there was a hardware issue" I'm just done. I don't know what changed, but this isn't the same company I signed up with. The last tech I spoke with didn't even try to get me to stick around. It was just "sorry your site is down, try again later."
Just. So. Done.
I've been with Bluehost since they have ONLY shared hosting package, five years over but I still host with them, very good up time and excellent support.
I use up time tracking from third party service to track my up time of my website but only 5 minutes downtime last year 2015. This is accept able
Few months ago the traffic increase too much because I advertise my site on Reddit and site is slow down to access but Bluehost helped me optimizing the site and everything is fine.
With their Wordpress package I have Sitelock pro for free keeps my Wordpress site secure from spammers and script kiddies, also got an dedicated IP too.
I height recommend everybody use Bluehost and I will continue host at Bluehost for sure.
Note: I have an other site hosted at GoDaddy and I want tell you Bluehost is far better than GoDaddy, the renewal price at GoDaddy also expensive.

I usually just don't write reviews except I am so overwhelmed with satisfaction or extremely dissatisfied. I have been hosting with various web hosting companies for the past 3 years and Bluehost has seemed to be the only one giving me a whole lot of troubles, ranging from very poor support, to website downtimes, to errors when trying to make a cPanel backup and the list goes on.
Am I the only one that waits for about 30 minutes just to get across their so called live chat that isn't actually a live chat, they'd rather still just ask you to open a ticket, the best they can do is to still open a ticket on your behalf.
Honestly, just give me a phone call and I can give you a thousand reasons to run away when you hear the word "Blue" in any web hosting discussion.
I'm not being a hater, I'm just sharing my experiences with you.
I had been a customer of Bluehost for many years. Not any longer. Yesterday I received an email from Bluehost stating they were migrating us to a new server. Ok, sounds good, right?. 15 minutes later our entire email system is down. Unable to get through to their technical support. Not good for business.
Today I waiting for 40 minutes on their "On-line Chat" While waiting I went into our bluehost panel - I am not an IT specialist. Luckily I was able to determine that the changeover included new incoming and outgoing server information. I was able to update the email accounts on my computer - without any help from tech support.
The Tech support was working with so many clients I had to wait 5 minutes + for a response. So I call the tech support number. I am told that I should know that when they switch servers email setting need to be changed. What? I'm not in IT and everything was working wonderfully until they decided to migrate during a work day.
I am shocked! I have never experienced such poor service. Everything was working well UNTIL they decided to migrate to a different server. No emails letting customers know in advance, no helpful advice provided . And apparently Bluehost has no superiors only tech support as the tech support person "Corey" hung up on me stating that he could put me through as they did not have a management department. Well that is certainly an interesting business model.
All of our client folders are now missing, I am unable to delete any emails as a pop up states they're already deleted. I have to go around to every computer station to update the incoming/outgoing servers.
No apologies, no help, and what company updates during a work day! I don't rant but this is mind boggling. Anyone who can recommend a company that believes in customer service please advise.
I have been a Bluehost customer for about 12 years. They started out being all around terrific. The support staff was knowledgeable, service was great, no downtime issues. The $5.95/month cost for three years of service was a bargain. However, I've noticed that, in the past three years, service response time has deteriorated considerably. The expected response time on chats is usually ridiculously underestimates how long the wait will be. My latest renewal has bumped by three year rate all the way up to $10.99/month. I tried to reach them about it this morning, and after 30 minutes waiting on an expected "six minute" wait time, I was asked for my verification information to begin the chat. After 15 more minutes of waiting, I finally gave up. If you go with them, the web site uptime and web performance is good, but these cost issues and service problems are a deal killer.
If you are searching for a hosted server vendor - this not the vendor you been looking for. Contacting technical support via live chat or phone is minimum of a 20 minutes wait on hold. Quality of technical support varies from fair to poor. BlueHost has not been backing up my five website domains for over five weeks. After repeated chat sessions and calls the best information that I could get was "the tech are working on it". No ETA when it would be fixed. More importantly I received no notification that the backups were stopped because of a BlueHost infrastructure failure. If you are seeking a solution that doesn't required constant monitoring of basic functions like backup then don't chose BlueHost. I'm now stuck with manually backing up five hosted servers everyday indefinitely or until our prepaid contract runs out. Ironic as this type of routine task was exactly what I expected to automate with a hosted server provider.
Bluehost is one of the most reliable hosts out there when it comes to features. It's attractive features include a free domain name, cheap pricing, incredibly high uptime (~99.5%), and one-click install for WordPress. For most purposes, a website built on WordPress and hosted on BlueHost is all you need. Sites load faster in comparison to when you host them on HostGator. But, if your website gets tonnes of traffic, it is not the hosting service for you.
I have been a Bluehost customer for 12 years, and I am sad to say that I am now looking for a new web host. When I started with them, you could not find better value for the money or better support, and I had unlimited storage and bandwidth and a free domain, but they are horrible now. They are charging me twice as much as when I started with them, they have dropped my storage, and now I have to pay for my domain too. On top of all that, their customer service is almost non-existent. I contacted them about 2 months ago about a billing problem. I attempted to get chat support, and had to wait in the queue. It said the wait time would be 28 minutes each time, but then the time kept getting extended, and then when it was my turn I got dropped, so I finally called them. I was on the phone for about 2 HOURS, and every time I got someone on the line, they would tell me that I had to be transferred to another department. I was transferred to the same departments over and over again, and they never did anything to help me. When I finally asked to speak to a supervisor, they told me there wasn't one there. Altogether I wasted about 4 hours with no results.
I have been w Bluehost for about a year, great in the beginning, but now a year later can not reach anyone to discuss issues. Every time I call is a 25 + minutes wait (maybe more because I hang up). Stay away from this company. BTW, I have also emailed support w no response.
We've been using Bluehost since 2008 for our company website and it's been pretty much flawless and easy to use up until they made recent changes here in 2016. We are a Bluehost Pro customer. Bluehost now has issues that are effecting our business. Please note that we've changed nothing on our end...
1. It's suddenly become very difficult to get logged in... takes several very slow attempts with error messages.
2. All of our password protected directories had to be removed from our site because the password protection is suddenly gone even though the directory settings reflect the protection.
3. As of today, March 11, 2016... we cannot connect with support there! 1 minute posted wait time on chat goes for more than 30 minutes without response (now 5 days in a row).
4. I can't imagine how frustrating this would be for someone who hosts multiple domains via Bluehost.
Whatever changes Bluehost has made to modernize their services, need to be fixed or we will have no choice but to find another provider. : (
Bluehost hosting service is going downhill. I've had my website hosted by this company and it's been one disappointment after another. When I first came to them, the service used to be better. However, I can't left unnoticed the fact that they told me I would be able to use a wildcard SSL certificate on their shared server. Indeed I was; however, they soon started blocking an IP address for the translation company that provides translation service for my website. Bottomline: I had to call them almost every 3-4 days to have them remote this IP address from the blacklist. Eventually, someone suggested getting CloudFlare and whitelisting the IP address on their server. Sure enough, this solved the problem. However, I started getting 503 error messages occasionally; the new suggestion was to get Cloud Business Pro. I was told I would be served by three different locations instead of one. Most of the 503 errors were gone; now I started getting 404 errors which turned out to become a HUGE nonsense to the point that my uptime a few days ago was down to 50%.Not kidding. But it got worse. Yesterday, monitor.us sent me a notification stating that they suspended the monitoring service due to "continual failure for a duration of 12 hours". Wow! How can a business operate under such circumstances? I filed a trouble ticket and I've been for 10 days and no response from their technical gurus! Stay away from Bluehost. It seems like their servers are overcrowded and they can no longer handle the website traffic for the companies they "serve". For me, it's just a matter of days and I'm out of there.
Bluehost used to be fantastic. That is back before they sold out to a large corporation and they grew so big. Customer support is absolutely terrible, not completely because of the techies, but because how difficult it is to get customer support. As just one example, I have tried three separate times today to get through to them regarding a serious problem. The first time after starting at a wait time of 28 minutes which kept growing, the call dropped after I waited for 15 minutes. The wait time on the next call was 45 minutes and I hung up. Now, I have been on hold for 15 minutes hoping to get through soon, but who knows? This is typical and I dread having to call support at Bluehost. Plus, they have had to hire so many new techies that the quality of the support has really suffered. I have a few accounts at Bluehost and I am moving them all. They cannot support their user base. Period.
Bluehost pre-sales took at max 1-3 minutes to get someone and they answered the questions quickly. Completed my purchase and had a simple question prior to the transfer. Hit the button for support. 30 minutes! Waited 30 minutes night 1 and was still at 15 minutes. Night 2 waited for 37 minutes before someone connected in. Once they connected in, there was about 5 minutes between each message. I would type. Wait 5 minutes. He would type another question. I would answer. Wait 5 minutes. He would ask another question.
The absolute worst support I think I have seen.
I then tried to cancel. I was stuck on the "you are being transferred we will be with you shortly current wait time 1 minute". Well, that has lasted 30 minutes and counting.
This is the WROST hosting company we have every come across. They are serioulsy DOWN all the time and they just don't care. When you call them for support, hold time is between 30 mins to 1 hour! This is just insane, and most of the time when you do finally get someone on the phone, they can't help you and all they will say is they are down and they have no guaranteed estimated time of when they will be back up. Anyone, I promise you, you will do yourself a favor by NOT signing up with Bluehost and go to any other hostiong company - ANY other company will have a better record than them. They are just down too often and have the worst support and they just don't care that their downtime affects their customers' business in a big way. We will be cancelling our service with them. It has just cost us too much lost business and the frustration in dealing with them is also not worth it.
I have been a Customer for Bluehost for Past 6 Months and I have not faced a single issue with them they service is great and support also. I did have some issue with PHP Mail which was solved by their support team after contacting them 4 times. Rest the uptime was great
This is my first experience with Bluehost and I'm very very disappointed. Recently none of my sites were accesable for the whole day a few times. I checked other people's sites on the same server with me and they were also not accessable. Customer service is non-existent. If you open live chat, it says waiting time is 30 minutes and it stays just like that. And if you open a support ticket, you are very lucky if they reply you back. My support section is full of unanswered tickets. And now I'm also getting a ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE error for my Wordpress site. But I'm not opening a ticket, because I know they will not bother to reply back. Stay away from this company...
We started off with BlueHost back in 2012. It was a great way to start our web site. Customer service was great, wait times were great, and response times were great. We rarely had any issue with down time. I was always rating them high.
As of today, everything is different. When I try to Live Chat with an agent, my wait time is typically 30 minutes. After 30 minutes transpires, I have an addition 30 minutes to wait. I've resorted to chatting and calling at the same time. Phone calls to support are not much better. Instead of 30 minutes, I wait 20-25 minutes for a tech support technician to assist me. Also, when we started using BlueHost, it didn't appear they outsourced. Now they do, and it's quite the coincidence that since they've outsourced, customer service has only worsened.
As for down time, our email goes down at least once each week. Sometimes, it's momentary; other times, it's for a few hours. We've never been so frustrated before.
If I can switch without issue to a better hosting site, I've been given the go-ahead to do so. Bluehost used to be good. It's not so good anymore. If the transition may be made easily enough, we will switch. Otherwise, we are "stuck."
If you have a very small business with few employees that doesn't require a lot of email exchange, the price is within reasonable range. However, if your business is more than 10 employees or has a high-volume email exchange, I would not recommend Bluehost. Do yourself a favor and shop around.
I've been with Bluehost for 8 years. for the first few years, when i called in, my hold time was only a few minutes.
I don't call in that much, maybe a few times a year...but now, hold times are typically an hour. and now that i have some issues, ive spend 8 hours on hold in just 3 days.
Bluehost needs to get their support call hold time down to under 10 minutes again before i would recommend them to anyone
I transferred over to Bluehost and I've had nothing but problems. When I call, there are incredibly long hold times, tech support diagnosis is rarely accurate the first time. Very frustrating service! Sorry I spend the time and money to move over. There have been endless problems from the beginning.
Bluehost tech support is awful. I start and Chat and am told that I will be helped in 30 minutes. After 30 minutes it still says 30 minutes. I request an email reply and I get nothing. It can take from 5 minutes to 2 hours to update one sentence on my site. They tell me that my plan does not have enough speed to run my sites and I upgrade and NOTHING gets better.
I am currently hosting two domains with bluehost and i am happy with their vps hosting and due to the service of bluehost and traffic of my websites, i am going to move them to dedicated hosting. I have also tried shared hosting and it is also value for money. If you are new then you must at least try shared hosting of BlueHost.
I was managing a website for a client who was using Bluehost as their web hosting company. When I was checking his WordPress websites, I noticed both of sites were pulling a 500 Internal Server Error. That error is the most vague WordPress error. I called up Bluehost, and when I told them about the error, they knew exactly what it was and took care of it. They made sure the permalink structure was working on both websites before hanging up. Their support staff is knowledgeable and personable.
I have been a customer for years with Bluehost for years. As of the last year or so no longer can I just reach tech support easily with a simple call. Now frequently my sites are down because of their server. Getting tech support is like torture. You have to wait forever to talk to someone. Seems like they're outsourcing as well, though I'm not sure. It's just really really really bad. They have totally changed everything since they got too big for their britches, as the saying goes, and started all that advertising. Anyway, there's no excuse for their server to be down so much. I'm so disappointed.
I used BlueHost because my website developer recommended them, but I'm sorry I listened. I understand that they might have been a good company at one time, but they are far from that now. Pricing is decent, but I guess you get what you pay for. The customer service, if you can call it that, is horrible. When trying to get ahold of tech support either by phone or by web, the wait time has never been less than 20min for me, and two times yesterday it was over 30 min. When finally connected all they could tell me is "they're working on the servers, and that's all I can tell you, I'm kept in the dark too." So I waited over 30 min for that explanation to my website being down twice, and when trying to get ahold of manager I had to wait another 30 min. My website has been down for about 48hrs, only on sporadically during this time. Honestly I don't monitor my website uptime as often as I should, so I can only imagine how much it's been down.
As most of you I assume, I spend thousands of dollars in advertising trying to drive people to my website to capture clients. If the website is down when someone finally goes to the site, they're never going to come back, and that's costing me money! Each person that comes to my site is potentially "on avg." about $7,500. So having my website operational is critical. I recommend that you do more research and find a more reliable company.
I've been using Bluehost for several years. As background, I'm an experienced IT professional with more than 20 years in the business, and I'm using a premium VPS service from these folks.
I've had very bad problems with the availability of their servers, which they tend to blame on Worpdress or other issues. When I can get into the root console, the problem is normally some script running on their side, or some misconfiguration on their side, rather than anything on the wordpress side of things. I also have the consistent experience of opening cases and having them tell me, "this is your server, we don't maintain this stuff," while at the same time being denied access to the directories/etc. I would need to fix the problems. For instance, some of my email accounts are dkim signed, others are not. I opened a case to have them all dkim signed, to which they first responded, "what is dkim and why do you care," and then, "we don't handle this, it's your problem because you're on a VPS." The reality is, however, I don't have access to the mail server to change anything about it -- it's completely on their side of the wall. Another instance, I consistently receive errors in upgrade scripts for various python modules, the cpanel, etc. -- I receive emails notifying me that things can't be upgraded because specific directories or files can't be found, etc. I can't access the directory the script is in, nor the missing directories, yet when I open a case, I receive a reply that Bluehost doesn't manage VPS servers almost instantly. If I can't manage it, and they won't manage it, then I guess it's just an unmanaged service.
For the price I'm paying -- about $600 a year -- this seems more than a little insane.
Further, their support personnel hang up on you if they're done -- the line just goes dead, or the chat ends, even if you're in the middle of saying or typing something -- and they feel free to insult their customers. "Maybe you're just not smart enough to handle this sort of hosting solution," to quote one of their customer support folks directly.
This is a horrible hosting company that charges you way more than their services are worth. Avoid.
Bluehost is so incredibly terrible that I've given up on my website until I can change hosting providers. I've had Bluehost for about 8 months, and for the first 7 months I found them to be acceptable, despite their difficult-to-negotiate website that pushes the sale of additional products so hard that it feels like you're walking down the Vegas Strip or through South Beach. But in the last two weeks I've had nothing but frustration with them. Initially the problem that my site would occasionally be down, and at other times would be frustratingly slow. Over the course of this past weekend, it got FAR worse - my site was down more than it was up; oftentimes I couldn't edit the site and anybody who tried to visit the site would get a "site not found" error message. A complaint ticket went unanswered for 2 days. Today I received an e-mail saying that the problem was solved, yet today it was worse than ever - again and again my editor would give me a "cannot connect to server" error message. Until I find a better provider, I'm only doing basic editing and sure as hell am not marketing my site - the last thing I want to have happen is for somebody to try to visit my site and have it yield an error message or take minutes to load. Bluehost is horrific - try them out at your peril.
I do not recommend BlueHost at all.
We have been a customer of BlueHost since 2012 and only in the past few months we have had issues with them. The first issue took 15 separate calls in Sep and Oct 2015, countless repeated information for our website to be reactivated. The lack of urgency from BH was appalling nor did they exhibit any empathy whatsoever. During one call I was transferred to 5 different people and had to relay the same information over and over again and even then the website was not reactivated after this call. All we needed at this time was how to submit a chargeback to BH. Eventhough the website was up and running our company emails were not and still not.
The second issue we had was getting a new email address associated with our BH account. This was definitely not an easy task as they require government issued ID, bank statement from when you made the original purchase with BH, photo of the credit card used.
The third problem was that BH's credit card company charged us twice for this year. When I asked the helpdesk via live chat if they could ask the credit card company to refund it, the agent suggested to speak to their credit card company and said that they have "reported the repayment and that this dispute was resolved." When I asked if they could provide their credit card company details so I can speak to them and get this sorted, I was told:" I don't know. I don't work for the credit card company." Astute observation. Subsequently, I requested the agent to ask his team members for the information he replied: "It is not our requirement to provide contact info to a customer's credit card company." If you suggest I speak to your credit card company should you not provide their contact details to me? He did give one very helpful tip which was that the team who usually correspond with the credit card company are not in today and they are back in the office on Monday.
Do yourself a favour and look for another hosting company if you are considering BlueHost.
Absolute worst uptime. I have been a customer with bluehost for almost 5 years, with three different hosting packages. Recently, within a year (2014-2015), after they started marketing alot and adding in lots of packages, their server uptime is horrible. I don't know whether they do it on purpose or not, whenever I ask, they say their admins are working on it and the site returns within an hour or two. Then, after a lot of these incidents, I ask them to change my hosted machine to something else since there has been lots of issues, they're like I need to upgrade the package to Pro package which is tripe the price I pay for a basic static page site. I don't think I need to change my plan to get what I was promised for, if you can't fix it then you shouldn't even sell that package in the first place.
I have a private site for miscellaneous stuff - posting private videos, photos, etc., and I have a few sub-domains where I host small sites for friends. I don't need to visit and update any of this very often. Today I tried to add a couple of things and found that my site has been totally shut down. I got a message on screen that said the reason was that some files contained viruses or malware. So I called BlueHost and was told that my site "has been hacked" and that's why it's been disabled.
The guy on the phone said that BlueHost could scan and clean all my files or I could get an outside service to do it. I said that sounds like someone is going to charge ME for, and he said yes, BlueHost's charge to me would be $160-something, I think, and an outside vendor would charge me "a few hundred." I said no thanks and hung up.
So I checked my files and see that there are dozens of unknown files - it looks like someone in China is parking all of their pages on my site (file names like Ray-Ban, Adidas, etc., so a counterfeit store, I guess).
I would think that if BlueHost was about to disable my site for a "virus or malware" - or for any reason - they might let me know. Is that unreasonable? Fortunately, this site isn't anything critical to my business or anything, because I'm not going to send another nickel to BlueHost. Sheesh
I'm so incredibly disappointed in your customer service. I've wasted THREE hours of my day and your company was still NOT able to assist me!!! You've taken money from my family, yet you can't give me any information. I've sent you TWICE my info to verify my identity, you validated you received and then tell me I have to wait ANOTHER FOUR hours for you to EMAIL me. It's unacceptable. Your "small business tip" on Facebook 2 days ago is to "welcome feedback from your customers. Listen and adapt", yet you have all comments and ratings disabled on Facebook AND Google+. Aren't you talking out of both ends of your mouth? Just when I was about to have you host 2 more domains for me. I'm so disappointed in you, Bluehost!!!

Support: Reps are hit and miss, most have an "attitude" when I contact them. They will tell you something definitively, even though they have no clue what they're talking about. For example, when I contacted BH to alert them that there is suspicious activity on my account and they tell me that there isn't, I have to wonder (a) how stupid do they think I am and (b) how many people who know nothing of malicious files are fooled by a quick talking rep..? I've had two reps close our 'chat' session without assisting me, simply because I told the rep that I was losing confidence in his abilities!
Features: What makes BH features any better than any other webhost that offers CPanel? Nothing...
Uptime: Every time (about six times) I get files reinfected after BH runs their Site Doctor, my site goes down for several days. On a more recent occasion, I had close to 10 days of downtime... Let me say that again... 10 DAYS OF DOWNTIME! This could be expected from some discount hosting company, but not for the type of money I pay.
Value: There is absolutely no value in a webhost that allows your files to be infected, charges you to fix it, allows your files to be reinfected, charges you to fix it, and DOES NOT fix the problem. They simply stand there with their hand out, charge you for a service, and don't deliver on removing malicious files from your account. They simply point the finger at you... As if I purposefully infected my own account! Terrible customer service.
I'm tempted to copy and paste my 'chat logs' and maybe some email responses that they've sent me. It would likely serve as the #1 deterrent of Bluehost on the web!
My advice, don't choose Bluehost. Go with one of dozens of other companies that charge roughly the same price, but treat their customers like "they are always right!"

Bluehost is the web hosting company that is after your money. I am not a developer or any admin. I own small business and I had 3-4 static websites. I initially had these websites on Godaddy.com, HostGator.com and Misk.com. All of they worked good but to manage them better I decided to move everything on one new and good hosting... After reading good Bluehost reviews, I chose to go with Bluehost.
Within 1 month all of my websites got Malware. I get call from Sitelock saying we have been notified that your websites are infected by Malware so please contact us ASAP. I called and they asked me to approx $125 for each domain. I said no I will look into it. Next day Bluehost deactivated my account saying it is violating terms and conditions. I called Bluehost and asked about deactivation. The Bluehost showed me the file that lists the file that are infected. I manually went through each file and deleted all extra files that were reported.
Within 1 month I again got call from Sitelock saying ssame thing and the whole cycle repeated...
My websites are 12-15 pages static websites. They were live from last 4-5 years and nothing happened.
Bluehost say we don't know what is wrong with your websites. To fix it please contact our partner SiteLock.
Because I didn’t want to pay sitelock and developer, I decided to move away from Bluehost and started downloading the files from Bluehost. Their FTP is so pathetic that is disconnects after 40-50% downloading.
Also if you are logged into control panel then you can open your webmail in the same browser as it uses the same link…
To all of the subscribers, please test Bluehost thoroughly before moving all the websites to Bluehost. They are money suckers and don’t have anything good…
I've always run dedicated servers, so I haven't been on a shared hosting plan in awhile. My developer urged me to move over to Blue Host shared hosting. From day one, nothing but problems. My website was down more than it was up. The site speed changes from 8 second loads all the way to 46 seconds all day long. I swear every technician has a canned excuse ready to go. They told me to expect downtime on a shared host. They told me to move to cloud hosting and I'll always have a redundant site in case one server goes down. Total lies! My website is down just as much if not as often and the second cloud host NEVER takes over. I've inquired multiple times why the cloud host never picks up when my primary host goes down.. canned excuse: It's propagating.
Avoid this host like the plague. I for one, am happily jumping ship. Horrible customer service, long wait times on the phone and chat.
BlueHost sucks! Here's why.
September 27th, 2015 I register a domain with Bluehost,
September 28 and 29th, I start working on my new site using one of the default Wordpress templates that are already installed. Sept 30th, 2015 I purchase, upload and activate a premium Wordpress theme onto my Bluehost server. Start working with the new theme.
October 1st, early a.m. I get on Bluehost wanting to work on my site and I get a message that my domain has been deactivated. I call the number provided, get someone on the phone, but she can't help because I'm in Germany and the department I need is not open at present. I'm already not impressed since I don't know why my domain would be deactivated.
October 1st, late in the day Germany time I get the department that is going to help me. A nice young woman tells me that for security reason they need to have me verify the account. She says she'll send me an email to reactivate my domain. She says it should be reactivated within an hour of me verifying my account. Then I get this email:
"Thank you for attempting to reactivate and verify your account. To complete the verification process you will need to send in an image of the Front and the Back of the credit card charged for the hosting account. Please Block out/cover the First 12 numbers on the front and the CVV2 code on the back. The name, expiration date and last four numbers need to be visible. Also, the credit card holder's ID (up-to-date/non-expired drivers license or passport). You can block out sensitive information on the ID, we Need to see the Name and the Expiration date.
You can send this information to [email protected]
Get Real! Like I'm going to bother doing all of that to verify my account. Forget it! I have accounts with NameCheap, HostGator and GoDaddy and never been asked to jump through so many hoops to verify and account. Total B.S.
So, I call Bluehost back, cancel my account, and will transfer the domain name over to GoDaddy after 60 days.
This was my first experience with Bluehost. I followed a recommendation of a blogger. It's also my last experience with Bluehost. When any company makes registering and verifying so complicated, especially in this day and age, they do not get my business.
I'm hosting my game for Facebook canvas (Fantastic - Ivy & Evy) at bluehost. I was advised by sales to get the Cloud Pro package in combination with the Cloudflare Platinum package. Everything that I've asked for was possible (stability and a wildcard SSL cert.). It sounded great! However after I became a customer nothing was possible and support is near to zero. I couldn't get the products (SSL cert, Railgun) as was advertised, when I pointed out the section on the website that said the package included an SSL cert and backed my claim with the chat sessions that I'd saved on my machine, they said I needed to contact the sales person I've had the chat session with. You guess, the guy was never available and I still didn't get what was promised.
Also, the uptime is terrible. Server is down for hours and when I ask about it the answer is maintenance. Without notification and for many hours.
Bluehost has some good technicians though. My problem with Railgun was fixed very fast, the problem is that the people on the helpdesk frontline don't know anything just sell no for an answer without consulting a technician.
I am a developer with several clients on bluehost. For shared hosting, and small websites, they are ok. However, we migrated one of our clients to VPS to handle more traffic, get better response time, etc. What a nightmare. Not a trouble free (as we were assured) migration by any definition. NO HELP from VPS if you need it .. you are just told it is your problem. My problem, for sure, was an angry client whose store did not work and who lost approximately $7000 in revenue for the 2 days that it took to get his store back up. Now i'm stuck with having to clear error logs daily to keep the alotted space free (or have the website crash) Blue Host VPS support simply does not care. We are looking for a new host ... sooner rather than later.
I am the user of bluehost since last 1.5 years. I have been referred to their service by one of my friend telling me that their customer support and their uptime is great. At first, when I signed up, I saw the uptime is really good and the service they are providing is worth the money that you pay. I started enhancing the website and tried to expand my website traffic through reddit and other traffic mediums. As soon as my traffic started increasing, I have noticed that uptime is decreasing slightly. I have contacted their customer support and I have to admit that their customer support is really fast from the day one until now. They told me that increasing traffic is causing trouble on the bandwidth usage. The CPU usage of the shared hosting is also out of my understanding as it increases without any special plugin running on my wordpress installation. I tried to ask their customer support many times about it but everytime I haven't been satisfied. Their customer support is fast to respond but lack professionalism in satisfying what client needs or what problem client has. All in all, I would not greatly recommend bluehost but if your traffic is low, you can think of using them

I like the control panel of bluehost, which is extremely good but the cost of bluehost is slightly more as compared to hostgator. The control panel of bluehost of is very easy to understand and access. Apart of control panel the support is extremely brilliant. All i want to say if you are thinking and first timer then must try bluehost hosting.
I have been using BlueHost for 2 years now. While it is true, I was lured in by an attractive low-rate offer, when the price rises, it doesn't go above what other hosts offer, so it's still a discount.
The first thing that stands out regarding BlueHost is that I receive by far the best customer support, at least by chat, that I can think of in any form of business. They are always available within 20 minutes, which is fine because the chat box pings when they are ready, so I'm never just waiting on hold, I am free to do something else while waiting. When they respond, they are knowledgeable and helpful and I always get my questions answered, whether it is a developer-type technical question or simply about billing.
The second best thing is the interface. It is clean and the blue branding is beautiful. It is easy to use and offers me tons of control. The only negative, why I dropped stars for features, is that on a shared system, there is no way to run a Java application on my server. Otherwise, between using cPanel, Sequel, and Cyberduck, it is a breeze connecting to the server and moving files around. Some things are even too easy in that I feel it should be harder to do certain tasks, not that it is in any way a problem.
I've never had any problems with uptime nor any issues with the technology, besides the inability to add Java apps. Overall, even though I got involved with them based on the low introductory rate and WordPress integration was touted on their site, I was a little skeptical that they didn't have the same recognizability as GoDaddy, but I can honestly say, I am pleasantly surprised.
I was with Bluehost shared hosting for years until they started outbound filtering of email which causes the mail forwarding set in cpanel to break. The effect of the change was that you would get some mail forwarded, but other mail would drop and you would never know. I had to move my hosting to another company since not receiving some emails is not something I could tolerate.
You get what you pay...Heard that saying? Well that's what applies here. I signed up for the VPS. Shifted my main site and then saw that WooCommerce couldn't work anymore.
I asked them that everything was fine when i was on A Small Orange why its no more working fine. To this they had an amazing answer. Ask your web developer. Well sorry we are the web developers. We know what we are doing.
We said there is some security loophole. Please check. They won't listen. Instead they lectured us about how stable and how BIG a hosting they are. Useless. Just run away from these bunch of unprofessionals.
A Small Orange is good hosting with few downtimes but at least they answer properly and listen to customers. These guys are useless. Whats the use of all features if you get such kind of useless support.
AVOID THEM if you are a web developer!!!
I have been using blue host for about 3 years and am less then pleased. It seems like about down almost 25% of the time. I always have trouble logging into my dashboard and email. I would NOT recommend BlueHost to anyone and in fact am in the process of changing to a more reliable hosting server.
BlueHost is a really great hosting company from my experience with them and it is the host that I recommend to my customers. It takes only 5 mins to setup then you are good to go, it is really easy to transfer or point domains to bluehost as well so a lot of time is saved and if you get stuck you can really easily contact them either by phone or live chat. The plans they offer have really competitive prices and come fully loaded with a whole host of features and one-click-installs. Ovverall BlueHost really is the greatest due to its high end US based support, pricing and features!
I have been a BlueHost client for more than 3 years. Service is ok but as usual sometime servers fail and maintenance just say you have to wait until it gets back to work.
The point is that they have been charging me for a service that DOES NOT WORK: BACKUP PRO.
I found this painfull dicovery this week while trying to restore my databases and after several failures the assistance service just "confessed" that it does not work and it has been dismissed while the billing has not!
It's not about the money, it's about something that looks more like a scam because backup is a major issue and now I have to go through a manual procedure that will take so much time than expected that will cost our company a lot!
