Visiting a lot of websites I found that they had issues with giving adequate bandwidth and storage space because of which my website used to hang a lot. Coolhandle was my savior and gave me an adequate amount of bandwidth and storage space at reasonable price.
Dealing with web hosts is the only thing I specialize in! After working with hundreds of web hosts in my ten years of web designing, I strongly give my vote to cool-handle. Cool-handle is undoubtedly the best option for a web host. They give maximum services with minimum prices.
Best investment so far for web hosting services. The packages & reseller programs starting from starter and heading towards pro they provide big good set of facilities. Cool Handle offers programs which are really worth taking as they take care of all their customers in a very convenient manner.
Cool handle is one of the best web hosting services because of its best services & affordable prices. I was extremely satisfied with my experience with cool handle and will recommend you that if you want to start a website of your business then cool handle is the right destination for you.
Cool-handle is certainly a good web host. I’ve been at cool-handle for only 5 months now but they’ve been fantastic all the way. The support is great and the network hasn't had any issues yet, the pricing is great, and they are just awesome all around.
I had four different hosting companies to provide me with a web hosting over 6 yrs and I have to say cool-handle are by far the best. Their package for a very reasonable cost allows me to control the content and look of my website in exactly the way I choose. I can honestly say that they provides best hosting services.
I have recently switched to Cool-handle hosting over the last year. They have many different ways to contact customer support including online support 24/7. I haven't been with them long enough, but so far its quite good, fast server, no downtime as of yet, they keep you informed about the company and the prices are affordable.
I am using cool-handle web hosting service from past 2 years and I can honestly say that I cannot remember having a single problem or negative issue with my website. I have no doubt about recommending cool-handle for anyone who is looking for web hosting service.
Just booked dedicated IP Address service by cool handle at $ 4.99/ month, everything seems perfect by now, moreover the response to any of my queries from cool handle team was super fast, really looking forward to avail more services by cool handle, since long I was in search of someone who would provide genuine services to my advanced hosting needs & cool handle is the perfect match for it.
Got my self one of the web hosting services from cool handle at $ 29.95/ month, its been three months since then & everything seems absolutely perfect, the transparency in billing is great, their 24X7 customer support is apt with all the answers to any technical problems.
CoolHandle is a privately owned US based web hosting company that was founded in 2001. It offers a range of hosting services, including VPS and dedicated hosting, but appears to specialise in cloud based shared web hosting.
CoolHandle is particularly proud of its experience in Linux-based hosting, claiming that it has a wealth of hosting knowledge and expertise that its customers can rely on.
CoolHandle Hosting Plans
CoolHandle offers web hosting based on the Cloud Linux operating system.
There are three plans for customers to choose from and each plan allows for unlimited storage space, unlimited bandwidth and provides a free domain name. The main differences between each plan are the numbers of domains and SQL databases which customers can host.
There are three reseller plans available through CoolHandle allowing from a range of 35 to 200 GB storage and 250 to 1000 GB bandwidth. There is also an affiliates program to reward customers for successful referrals.
CoolHandle offers three different plans for customer interested in VPS hosting. Each plan comes with a dedicated IP address and a free domain name.
Dedicated server hosting is also available through CoolHandle. This service give customers their own server with a 3GHz intel processor, 2 GB RAM, 2 X 160GB storage and 2 TB bandwidth. Customers also get a dedicated IP and a free private SSL certificate.
The CoolHandle site does provide a link offering Windows hosting, however this takes you to an alternative company called CoolWinHosting. This company is does not actually appear to be part of CoolHandle, so I’ve skipped it in this review.
CoolHandle customers can also purchase additional products including SSL certificates, dedicated IP addresses, domain privacy services, web design services and CloudFlare Content Delivery Network services.
CoolHandle offers a 99.9% uptime guarantee that will compensate its shared hosting and reseller hosting customers if uptime falls below the SLA.
CoolHandle’s servers are located in Los Angeles, USA. The CoolHandle site claims that the data centre is used by the 12 largest internet providers in the US, so it’s not their own facility. It utilises HVAC cooling systems, backup power systems, security monitoring and off-site network monitoring.
All of CoolHandle’s customers are provided with technical support which is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Customers can raise a support ticket and there’s a free telephone line available round-the-clock.
There is also a live chat facility, but this isn’t always available, and I found that technicians seemed to log on and off regularly while I was exploring the site. This could suggest that its technical support team isn’t that big, or perhaps prefers to deal with enquiries via other channels.
Customers are provided with a knowledge base and a range of video tutorials to help them solve any issues they have. There is also a client area for account management purposes.
CoolHandle has very active Twitter and Facebook accounts. It also uses these social media sites to interact with its customers and provide them with the support they need. I always think it’s good to see support being offered on social media as it gives customers visibility, so this is definitely a plus point.
CoolHandle in the News
CoolHandle has not courted any controversy in the news, and neither has the company attracted any positive news stories of note. This suggests that CoolHandle operate a relatively stable service who haven’t hit the headlines yet.
CoolHandle Control Panel
CoolHandle provides cPanel for customers’ site administration needs. This is a paid extra on VPS and Dedicated hosting plans, as you’d expect.
Most of CoolHandle’s hosting plans come with a free domain name, website builder and free set-up. Customers get the Fantastico script installer for free, which allows clients to quickly set up WordPress, OSCommerce, Image Gallery and more free script installs.
CoolHandle also supports Ruby on Rails, Python, PHP5, Zen Shopping cart and more. Customers can also obtain CloudFlare and a free search engine optimization package, which is a nice extra.
CoolHandle Money Back Guarantee / Cancellation Policy
The company offers is a 30-day money-back guarantee for any unsatisfied hosting customers. This guarantee only applies to the hosting itself though; customers cannot claim for domain registration fees, setup fees and other additional services they have purchased. This is a relatively standard guarantee, and I’ve found most hosting companies offer something similar.
CoolHandle offers a range of hosting options comparable to many other hosting companies out there. Its wide range of options makes it suitable for most businesses in theory, although the VPS and dedicated hosting plans aren’t as granular as the ones I’ve seen on some other hosts’ sites.
CoolHandle appears to be one of the few companies willing to liaise with their customers through social media sites rather than directing them to official support channels, which does inspire confidence. Furthermore, their uptime and money-back guarantees go a long way to building trust in their services. The company would suit small and medium sized businesses who are looking to get started in hosting but retain the ability to upgrade without having to switch providers again.
CoolHandle is a Linux technology only web services shop. Their shared web hosting products are one of their specialties as well as a variety of other hosting products that focus on Linux technology.
CoolHandle doesn’t do any introductory pricing at all, so you don’t find yourself surprised when it comes time for renewal.
They offer a range of Dedicated Linux host services. With many options, they are able to deliver a thorough menu of services based on CPU, disk size, bandwidth and built to suit a customer’s particular needs. They also offer a variety of managed services for customers that are looking for peace of mind as well.
Their shared web hosting plans provide one free domain per account.
Customer will find that this company offers domain registration services on their site, featuring top level domains (TLD) from around the world like .com, .net, .info and so on.
The company backs up their services by offering customers the security of a 30 day money back guarantee.
With three VPS options that are configured around CPU, memory and disk requirements for fast, manageable and dedicated resources, customers have suitable choices for their needs.
The company's support teams are available around the clock 24 x 7 by phone.
They provide support in English on the phone, on their website, through their email and on their support ticketing systems.
The company's headquarters can be found in Los Angeles, CA.
The company has its data centers based in the Los Angeles, CA area.
They support PHP, Perl, Ruby and Ruby on Rails as the programming languages available on their Linux shared web hosting plans.
The company has a reseller program that offers three levels of engagement for the most appropriate success for participants.
The company's affiliate program allows participants to take part in a commission-based structure with uncapped rewards, free advertising material and daily reports as well as other tools.
A site transfer service is included with their regular shared web hosting accounts as well as their reseller accounts. It allows the switch to their web hosting to be as stress free as possible with complete domain, file, database and script transferring.
WordPress is provided through the Fantastico instant software package and is well-supported in their environment. WordPress is one of the most popular blogging platforms and enjoys installations throughout their environment.
While their starter plan only supports one domain, their top Pro plan supports an unlimited amount of domains and if you opt for the Business plan, you can get up to 100 domains hosted.
The company provides a wizard based, drag and drop website building software suite with their plans that makes building and deploying a professional looking site easy and fast.
Their security protocol features specialized antivirus and antispam measures in their secured data center environments. Their data centers are also secured facilities with around the clock monitoring and protection so your data stays physically safe.
They don’t specifically provide or support PrestaShop, but all the prerequisites to install it are there. You will find many PrestaShop users within their user base.
Joomla is not one of their provided base of installable software and it isn’t specifically supported, but you will find many installations as the requirements to launch a Joomla install are well-satisfied.
You can easily migrate these kinds of sites through some easy to use tools. WordPress is one of their provided software installation packages and it is well-supported.
The company's plans are e-commerce ready with a bevy of features to support your needs. From OSCommerce Cart, CUBE Shopping Cart, ZEN Shopping Cart, Shared and Private SSL, it is fully supported and ready for your site.
If you need to host an image heavy site, all of their plans support unlimited storage spaced and bandwidth, making them an ideal choice.
While it is not explicitly supported, all the requirements to install Magento are available on their shared hosting web services.. You will find many use this platform for Magento installations.
As they offer Linux-based services the company provides cPanel, a popular control panel choice to control all the features of your account.
They accept all major credit card payment methods like Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. They also accept PayPal.
The company has a 99.99% uptime guarantee that is backed by service credits for lost downtime.
Customers looking for additional security features will find that there are no additional security options available with their plans.
The company's plans offer CDN services with 1-click CloudFlare readiness.
The company signs customers up on monthly plans as well as yearly plans, at a discounted overall rate.
For customers who user their domain name services, WHOIS domain privacy services are included at no additional cost.
The company backs up their servers daily for their own usage. However there are no guarantees on their backups at all. It is recommended that each customer back up their own data.
For a five site deployment since all of the company's plans include unlimited hosted domains, you could host these sites on any of them.
The company's plans allows for 5, 1,000, and an unlimited amount of email boxes, depending on the plan you choose. Space is also dictated by what comes in your package.
This company has unlimited space and bandwidth on all of their plans. However, the provider is the ultimate decider on what acceptable terms are.
The company does not regularly provide promotions of this type for students, non-profits, and schools, but if you are such an entity, you are free to contact them for potential arrangements.
The company's shared hosting plans, provide promotional Google AdWords credits.
Video streaming is better suited for dedicated resources that are provided by dedicated servers and VPS plans or with companies that have specifically installed plugins that make this possible. CoolHandle has specifically provided the FFMPEG extension, so it is suitable.
InMotion Hosting Reviews
I would like to really takeout time for this after reading all the reviews, i subscribed for custom web design service offered by cool handle & have never had a moment, where i repent my decision. Really appreciate their work- thanks cool handle
Cool Handle customer service is disgusting...their company is a shocker to deal with... i have received 15 tickets saying each time a person would contact me and I am still waiting - it’s been eight months. as soon as I signed up last June 2014 & paid, I realised there was an error, I immediately contacted them for a refund, an unfortunate mistake has cost me $495.49 How do you think I should handle this Cool Handle ?
I really, really like Coolhandle. They came at a time when my previous provider decided to jack up their fees to ridiculous levels. With Coolhandle, I got assurance of consistency in pricing plus a fully reliable phone support team that knows what they’re doing.
I do not get the complaints. I have never had an issue with their reliability once. Hosting ten different domains with my old provider proved to be a HUGE headache. Good thing I was referred to Coolhandle. Now, I host a dozen domains and Coolhandle has been nothing but fantastic. A+
Need I say more than what has already been said in these reviews. They are associated with a company I signed up with and quickly found I was not happy with this other company's service. I am now in a fight to get my refund back through Coolhandle. I sent a cancellation email and they sent me my confirmation email. What they didn't tell me in the email was to send a return confirmation stating that I did in fact want to cancel my account. I had to talk with support to find that out (which they could have use as a loop hole to hold on to my money). I am now waiting for my refund and I am becoming skeptical I'll get it back. I have waited my 7 business days for the refund and they keep telling me they will expedite my request. We'll see. You can never talk with a supervisor. They have no way of contacting billing departments to fix the problem. They are garbage. If you have a chance to work with Coolhandle.com, all I have to say is "RUN, RUN as fast as you can in the other direction.
If you are looking for a good hosting, this is not the one, you will be tired waiting for their support if you need, so then if you decide to cancel following their GUARANTEE Money back forget you will not get your money back. From now is in your hand.
First of all, I am new to owning a website. After I paid another company to build the website, that company had a working arrangement with CoolHandle and had already setup special features on the CoolHandle website. The other company indicated that I needed to install WordPress on an addon domain. I was not informed that an addon domain was an additional charge. I inquired with CoolHandle about adding WordPress to an addon domain. Rather than provide me the appropriate information on addon domains, Max at CoolHandle installed WordPress directly on my web store page, which turned the page from a web store page into a page for comments only, thus not allowing visitors to the site to link to products. I sent numerous emails which were ignored. Finally, I got persistent and aggressive with more emails demanding action to correct the problem with CoolHandle caused. It took nearly three months before they ever attempted to fix the problem they caused. When I repeatedly demanded credit for the problems they created, they refused. Then after more demands for credit, they decided, against my wishes, to cancel the service altogether. Although I did finally get my moback, I took a lot of emails to accomplish this. Since I paid another company to build the website, the code is therefore my property. I have asked CoolHandle to send me the code, and they still haven't responded. The next step I have is to do a BBB complaint and to file a complaint with the Maryland Attorney General's Office of Consumer Protection.
It's almost funny how terrible their support is. The front page of their website advertises "24x7 Technical Support" but my website was down for hours or even days at a time without any word from technical support despite emails explaining the gravity of the situation. I can't quantify lost revenue, if any, from having a website down, but it is definitely not a good reflection on me or my business.
When they did respond, I found that their responses were adequate. They took care of the problem, but why did it take so long? Why advertise 24/7?
There were long periods of downtime with this host. I think my longest was a week. Absolutely unacceptable.
I would not recommend this webhosting service to anyone, and by the looks of the other reviews on this website, no one else would either. Check their Facebook page; they had to shut off comments on their statuses and ban people from posting to their wall because almost everyone has something negative to say about this company and their business practices.
I've been with coolhandle for almost 2 years. Never had any issues other than the occassional down time which is to be expected with all hosting companies. However they recently charged my credit card without my authorization for some search engine submission fee. I never signed up for that addon and I certainly never gave them the authorization to charge my credit card at random.
They would never give me a clear answer as to why this happened although they did refund that charge. To make a long story short this erroneous charge really bothered me and I couldn't trust a company that makes up garbage seo search engine submission products and adds them to my account and bills me for it when I never authorized it. Really what bothered me most is the fact they woudn't tell me why this all happened. My feeling is it's a gig they run, and for busy webmasters like myself the odds say many don't catch the fee and it's a profit center for them. It's a gig, no other way to put it.
Finally because I feel they are underhanded I asked for my account to be closed and my hosting fee prorated to be refunded. They will not respond to my request and are pretty much ignoring me.
I would not trust Coolhandle as far as I could throw them. They are underhanded, no doubt about it and I would caution anyone considering signing up with them to find a more reputable company to do business with.
I have been a customer at Coolhandle for 3 years, and have had severe problems with the hosting at least two times. The first time they moved my sites to a new server without prior notice, and I could not approach my C-panel for almost a week. All my email accounts were also offline.
A few days ago I noticed that I could not see any of my websites anymore. I could not ping them, connect with FTP nor reach the C-panel. I have emailed customer support many times, but the only thing they tell me is that they have no problems loading my sites at their end. That does indeed not help me, as I have my own customers who have lost their business from some of these websites i administer for them.
I have even threatend them with law suit if nothing is done asap, but it does not "bite" on them at all. So, the only thing I can do is to contact a law firm in LA to help me sort this out, and that will not com cheap for Coolhandle!
Please keep away from this company!!!
I've been with Coolhandle for 2 years. After a good beginning, in 2012 I started having many problems:
- my account was suspended for no reason many times
- I was never informed by Coolhandle, even later
- the so called 24/7 technical support is active only during working hours
A very bad experience, and, after the last problem, I definitely moved away.
Not recommended at all.
Coolhandle is the most aweful webhosting company that you could ever use.
They disabled almost 70 of my accounts with notice because one of the websites within my reseller hosting account was sending out spam.
There's no technical support at all - you make a support request and never hear back from them. There's no way to actually check your support ticket once you raise it.
The tech support call center employees are just there to tell you that they cannot really help you with any technical issues and that you have to raise a support ticket. All their IVR options lead to the same team.
This is what hell feels like.
I ended up with Coolhandle through a money grabbing website. I have attempted to cancel my account, the first time within a week of opening it. Two months later, despite contacting them several times and I am still waiting for a refund from the cancellation. We are not talking a small sum, over $250. Each time i have asked for a refund i get sent an email outlining the benefits of keeping my website. I dont want it!!! I WANT A REFUND, is this not simple?
The following Money Back Guarantee is an absolute joke. This company is a disgrace and american consumers affairs should do something about them.
Cancelled service in February 2013 still no refund by June 2013
This is their so called Money Back Guarantee
If you are unsatisfied with your Hosting service for any reason, we will gladly refund your account. The thirty (30) day money back guarantee starts from the date of the purchase as reflected on your receipt/invoice.
The money back guarantee ONLY applies to hosting service itself. The money back guarantee does NOT apply to domain registrations, setup fees, additional services, or to products combined in one account (domain name and hosting). Domain names are like property, once we have registered them for you, we can not undo the registration hence we cant offer a refund for them, this also applies to names registered incorrectly as a result of your having made a mistake during the sign-up process. Please make sure you check the name you have filled in before you proceed to make payment. If you received a domain name for free with your hosting package, and cancel your account, a domain name fee, equal to current pricing, will be applied to compensate for the price of the domain name registration. If you would like to read the entire money back guarantee, please see the terms of service.
I had continual problems. I signed up with Coolhandle through a special pricing deal (from a membership, long story). The coupon did not go through and they charged me the full price. They would not return the difference, and would not refund (because at that point I changed my mind), and then they said I would have a credit when I renew or towards the purchase of domains. Their domains are not cheap, either.
I've had several problems over less than two years, some of which had to do with Google not being able to access my sites to crawl. All other indications pointed to a web host issue; they wouldn't even look into it. There were other issues, too. None of the issues were solved and it took a week or more to get an answer to a support ticket. Every support ticket.
Further, they throttle heavily, even on sites with very little traffic (?), and whenever I used an Amazon posting plugin, it would "hang" on the Coolhandle sites, but not on my sites on my other hosts (Hostgator, Bluehost, Hostmonster, JustHost, Network Solutions, GoDaddy). Other cPanel hosts will allow users to stop processes, but Coolhandle blocks users from this, so your site is locked-up for a good while.
Also, they don't count files or Inodes, but they are concerned with usage of resources. Thing is, there's no way for the user to quantify that or even know what is "too much".
When I finally got disgusted enough, I cancelled. They won't refund that "credit" on my account, nor for any unused term*. Many other hosts will refund you for the remainder of your term if you cancel before your renewal date.
I have a lot of experience with web hosts (since 1996), and I would not consider Coolhandle to be a reputable web host. A simple, static html site may be okay, but between their functionality problems and their shady "gimme gimme" billing practices, I would definitely recommend going somewhere else. Definitely.
* The "no refunds" for remainder of term IS in their terms of service. Be careful though, because if your account accidentally renews before your cancellation goes through, you're stuck!
Very bad service and support. The server is can be down for the weeks when hundreds thousands web site are not working for a few weeks that is absolutely not acceptable! The sites hacked too often and coolhandle doesn't have any help or recommendations. Difficult to get a basic information like to get a password for login into CPanel (you cannot create or change it yourself) or IP of SMTP mail server and credentials for application's development. On my question representative answers that I don't need to know this information. It shows me that customer service representatives don't have any technical knowledge but phone technical support doesn't exist in coolhandle (which is very unusual). Only recommendation customer support people have is to open a ticket which technical support often ignores or it takes months for them to find or don't find a solution. I can understand challenges in resolving technical problems but simple assisting with obtaining a password to login in CPanel should not be a difficult task if a company cares about clients.
I would NOT recommend due to fact that no one has ever followed up....EVER. I was referred via easy cash code, upon enrolling they took out a full 36 months fees without ever referencing 36 months as it was touted as 6 month package. How can you recommend anything if there is never any communication?
made a mistake an purchased this because it was a step in the easy cash code process thought i was paying $10.95 amonth but they took $262 straight away out me bank so i cancelled there service and have,nt yet received a response after 11days ive submitted about 15tickets to cancel there service an not had any reply. so its been reported as stolen to me bank see if they can sort it out.
I had subscribed to CoolHandle few months and, now, I have tried to cancel the service.
The reason for the cancellation is that emails from my domain to Gmail accounts (all gmails) are routed to local account ([email protected]
I felt very dangerous to keep using this service as they or somebody is trying to phish email addresses or some other info.
Of course, I contacted Support for this problem. At the beginning, they were asking the email addresses which were not delivered. But, once I mention the "local delivery," there was no longer reply to my fix request.
Tried to cancel via their interface and only found customer support/billing and requested to cancel. Heard nothing so they billed me again. This time I called and was told there were no refunds and there was no one would would discuss it with me. Apparently anyone there with the ability to discuss the issue was too important to take the time to talk to a lowly customer.... nice.
I have hosting accounts with many providers and Coolhandle are to date the only one I have consistent problems with.
There support is not 24 hour so if like me you are based in the Uk it takes forever to get a response the phone number is also not international!
Not only do they take forever to get back to you they never deal with an issue it has taken me more than 3 weeks now with my websites continually being down!
I would NOT recommend Coolhandle to anyone there are plenty of other hosts available check out other reviews before you risk these!!!
I have had the pleasure of using Coolhandle since Late 2005/2006 I could not say enough good things about them, I have actually never had to contact them for technical issues, my site has had ZERO down time in five years!
When I do speak to them they are friendly courteous and efficient.
I've recommended coolhandle to six friends and associates over the years and they are equally pleased.
Price point for services rendered can NOT be beat.
I know I'll be with them for the rest of my professional life.
MISERABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, SHADY BILLING PRACTICES & BUGGY FEATURES - STAY AWAY!!!
I have used Cool Handle (formerly Pronet Hosting) since Sept. 2007. When they were Pronet, I had no complaints. But since the switch, I have had THREE HUGE ISSUES that have prompted me to switch to a different service.
Issue #1: I stopped getting ALL my emails from Facebook and Twitter. It took them over a month to fix the issue, and insisted it was a Facebook problem. Excuse me? I know thousands of customers of other hosting companies get their emails from these social networks just fine! Each time their customer support would contact me, it would be a brand new person who had not taken the time to read my previous messages/exchanges with their team. They'd ask me the same questions again and again and nothing got done.
Issue #2: I got an automated email about my upcoming renewal (FYI, they send this email 7 days before your renewal is due, but if you don't want to renew, you have to turn off automatic renewal 15 days before the renewal date or you're charged a $29.95 "service fee." So they conveniently send you your reminder after it's too late to cancel your renewal without incurring the charge). I emailed their support team to ask how to NOT renew my hosting. They sent back instructions, which I followed exactly. Then a few days later I was charged the $90-something for the renewal. I contacted the support team again, explained I had not renewed so please refund my credit card. They said I didn't cancel the renewal properly so they wouldn't refund me. I told them I followed THEIR employee's instructions and it wasn't my fault they sent me the wrong directions. Again, every time I had an email from them it was a NEW employee who had not read the history on the ticket and I had to repeat myself again and again. It took OVER A MONTH to get my refund. Even then, I still had to pay the $29.95 "service fee." Their billing department was arrogant and unprofessional to deal with to boot.
Issue #3: And the kicker was today my website was DOWN and I got an email from them that the server had data corruption and it might take 10 hours to restore!! Needless to say I am canceling my accounts with them and going elsewhere. The alternative I found is cheaper and already has better customer support.
This company deserves to go out of business - they don't know how to treat customers, handle bugs, or maintain reasonable uptime.
