Is GOZEN Host the host for you?
GOZEN is a web hosting company that was founded in 2008. They provide shared hosting, virtual private servers, dedicated servers, and reseller hosting accounts, all powered by Linux operating systems and housed in datacenters in the United States and Europe.
GOZEN offers a standard slate of hosting products.
Shared hosting plans are sized based on the disk space and bandwidth allocated to the acount and the location of the server. All shared hosting plans include unlimited email accounts and MySQL databases, cPanel for account management, and Softaculous autoinstaller. Accounts are protected by ClamAV antivirus and SpamAssassin spam protection, and daily backups are performed by R1Soft. Customers who transfer to GOZEN can request a complete migration of their existing hosting account provided that their current plan includes cPanel.
Virtual private server (VPS) plans vary based on the physical location of the server as well as the processing power, SSD storage space, memory, and bandwidth allocated to the plan. All VPS plans include one dedicated IPv4 address and the option to choose between various Linux operating systems.
Dedicated servers at locations in the USA and in Europe are available with a variety of processor, hard drive, and memory configurations. All dedicated servers include five dedicated IPv4 addresses, the option to add-on IPv6 addresses, and the ability to choose between a variety of Linux distros.
Resellers can select a plan based on the number of clients they anticipate serving and locate the server in either the United States or Europe. All reseller customers can create an unlimited number of email accounts and MySQL databases, and manage their accounts with cPanel. Reseller account resources are containerized with CloudLinux and backed up daily by R1Soft.
Unlike many hosts which offer unlimited resources to shared hosting customers, GOZEN clearly delineates the limits that apply to each shared hosting account. While first-time hosting customers may be put-off by the limitations, the reality is that limiting account resources is the only way to ensure that there are enough server resources available to handle all of the accounts hosted on a single server.
GOZEN does not provide very much detail regarding their hosting infrastructure. A datacenter map is provided listing datacenter locations in Manassas and Kansas City in the USA in addition to locations in Lithuania and Germany. However, shared hosting plans are made available at USA locations such as Atlanta and Buffalo.
What is clear is that GOZEN does not own the datacenters that house their servers, but instead colocates their equipment in datacenters in the USA and Europe.
GOZEN offers two guarantees to their customers:
GOZEN advertises 24-7 support by phone or email. However, the page describing dedicated servers states that "support is by ticket system only." As a result, if you consider access to support by phone or email to be a critical feature, you should contact GOZEN to clarify support methods.
All hosting plans are offered with billing cycles as short as a single month or as long as a year. Discounts are offered for selecting a longer billing cycle and payment can be made by credit card or with PayPal.
GOZEN Host offers industry-standard Linux hosting plans with hard limits on all plan resources — something that first-time buyers may see as a limitation, but experienced hosting customers will recognize as a feature.
