Customer support is excellent. They are available for questions and give intelligible answers, and they are actively helpful if necessary. Basic services offered are very comprehensive and extras are reasonably priced. Communication is proactive about what they are doing to improve their service and if you call them they are very responsive.

We have a Web Host Manager package from Green Geeks. As happens, from time to time problems have occurred with our hosting, or for our clients. Whether it is us or one of our clients, Green Geeks has been responsive and helpful every time, getting the problem resolved quickly, efficiently and permanently. I have been a customer of GreenGeeks for some years. Because the uptime and maintenance has been so good I have had little experience with GG Support but on the few occasions I have had to call on them they have been quick to respond and always got my issue resolved right away. So I give them a 5 star on support. As for value .. GG is an excellent vale. As Canadians we are at the mercy of the exchange rate on a lot of things and often find a US product to be pretty expensive by the time the exchange rate is applied particularly when our dollar is at a disadvantage but even at that considering the service I have received I think it is a GREAT value. I have no hesitation recommending GG to anyone looking for a great provider.

Green Geeks offers great support, which is probably what I love best - they are always very quick to respond and resolve any issues. I definitely appreciate the instantaneous chat function with the support team. There is very little downtime, and if there is it usually doesn't interfere with the workday. When compared to other choices out there, the prices are very reasonable too. Combined with the outstanding support, I have been very pleased with Green Geeks.

I chose GreenGeeks after researching extensively to find a web host with an eco-conscious business plan and GreenGeeks is one of the top rated for low carbon footprint. That was important to me. But what is also important to me is that I get consistently good technical help, as I am not super technically oriented. GreenGeeks has been responsive both through email and the hotline. Their advice has been overall patient and helpful. I appreciate being able to hop online with questions and get immediate answers without being made to feel like they are talking to an idiot! :0) For the price I pay annually I have more than enough resources to float my several different websites - some of my friends pay less with other hosts but have continually frustrating lack of assistance. GreenGeeks rocks! I am always bragging about how much I like my webhost!

GreenGeek has been my hosting company since 2009. During that time support has been excellent, not only replying emails, but giving the extra mile and some advice in between. We started with a small vps and now we have 3 VPS up and running.
For some clients/projects sometimes we have to use some accounts hosted with other providers, so we have to deal with them regarding support or billing, so every bad experience with them we appreciate GreenGeeks even more.

My main reason for using Green Geeks is its environmental focus. Knowing that it's all run on renewable energy was a big draw for me. But I have also found the cost to be competitive and it is full of useful free features and add-ons. But most of all, on the few occasions that I have contacted support, the problems were fixed quickly. I am very happy to recommend Green Geeks.

I have used Green Geeks for several years, and they provide the BEST customer service/tech support! When I was a newbie and knew nothing about control panels or installing blogs, a GG tech took me by the hand and walked me through each step. Same with subsequent issues - which, I must say, have been few and far between (and not their fault - like bots hacking my blog). GG also stays on top of tech updates, so that the CP features are much more user-friendly (for us non-geeks) than they were eight years ago. I recommend Green Geeks b/c they've got everything their competition has, PLUS they purchase renewable energy to help reduce their carbon footprint.

Greengeeks has been my supplier since 2009, and in the time I have found their staff to be extremely knowledgeable and helpfull.
Their support desk really goes out of the way to provide just that "Great support".
The few times that I had to use their onliune chat, responses were quick and helpfull. I trust these guys to deliver a good deal but over the years they have given me that and more.

Went to GreenGeeks eight years ago after getting mediocre service from another web hoster, and have been happy I made the change. They've been consistently there and easy to reach, the service has been solid and as advertised, and with maybe one or two glitches over the years the few problems I've had were quickly resolved. Since 2009 I´m a hosting reseller and GreenGeeks was the option from the begining. It was the best option I can made. The support is mind-blowing, is very rare that my clients contact me due to a technical issues because they don´t experience them, and when it happens, GreenGeeks don't let me alone, always is there to solve any issue, even if the problem is not relationed to the hosting service, that is crazy!. I've been using GreenGeeks for over seven years now and I can't ever remember not having my emails go unanswered. Service is reliable, questions are answered quickly and all my websites load in half the time as their competitors. I wouldn't change service providers. I might offer more reseller options if I were them, but it isn't a deal breaker.

I email support anytime I have something come up, they are fast and helpful every time...even when I lose my cool.

I moved to Greengeeks because they utilize renewable energy and I was having trouble with my previous host.

GreenGeeks. What can I say. One of my main priorities was to find a hosting company that used green technology in their hosting and I found an excellent green partner here. They use c-panel which is another one of my must haves. They have the updated tools and software I need to run my website efficiently. Once I decided on their service (the prices were competitive among most other green hosting companies that I found, which aren't that many yet) I found out their customer service ROCKS! I had a problem that I just could not get figured out and I'm no newbie to the scene. I used their instant chat feature and was able to resolve the problem in a matter of minutes! I LOVE GreenGeeks and will never use another hosting service.

I have been charged a 15$ account setup fee that nobody has ever told me about for cancelling within minutes of having made the payment, as son as I received an e-mail stating that I was going to be charged 300%+ over the offered fee starting the second year of hosting.

It is a pity, I was considering moving a considerable amount of websites (100+) to GreenGeeks, but now, becuse of 15 miserable dollars, they will be out of this business AND have me writing this and other reviews for the rest of the world to know.

Hint: NEVER trust a company that hides all the information behind "wonderful" offers, just to stab you in the back as son as you are not looking.

I chose greengeeks after trying a couple of hosting companies. They are my most wanted hosting company that I was searching for. I am a drupal developer, and found greengeeks as the best drupal hosting provider.

Their customer support is amazing, really, their team are so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I chose greengeeks to be my hosting providers, I used them for my website and my clients website.

When it comes to drupal, they are the one. The most important thing is that they provide drush, and that helped me in improving my websites, and maintaing them. Just for it with greengeeks, you will never find a better that them.

I have been making websites since 1996. I've used a lot of hosts and services since that time, both for my own sites and that of my clients during the boom years of Y2K. Green Geeks is top notch.

Since I share one of my sites with my husband, who is a Linux webmaster at his work, we needed a few features hard to find at a reasonable cost. He needed to Secure Shell into his server, for one.

Between us we use WordPress with many plugins, Drupal (an older site), and we still do our own HTML coding which requires SFTP uploading of files to the server. We set up many domain redirects (site1.com will automatically forward the visitor to site2.com seamlessly) and many email addresses. All of this is very easy to do with the CPanel controls.

I don't need support very often, but when I do, they are always right there, 24 hours a day, on a live chat window. This was the one thing that tipped the balance toward choosing GreenGeeks over all others, about 3 years ago. I am VERY pleased I made that choice. I'm a night owl, and even the wee-hours shift is excellent. I've done telephone support before, and it's a challenge when you can't see the screen of your caller's computer. The GreenGeek team is always just what I need.

I have worked with a wide variety of hosting companies, but for the sites I host, I use Greengeeks because the uptime and customer service are so good. I also like that they make an effort to have a greener footprint. Their staff is available to solve problems quickly and they communicate very well with excellent English skills. GreenGeeks what should i say, It's the best hosting i saw it ever.
Let's start from scratch, when i heard of it first it was only google search i was confused and i selected it only for try. Their verification process was super-fast, in less than 5 minutes my account was UP and ready to work, their support is also Super-Super-fast, if you have a problem just click on live chat and you'll find them waiting for you, they fix your problem and give you suggestions. i tried their webhosting and VPS, i'm really satisfied, Thank you GreenGeek, You are the best and you deserve to be in the TOP #1 ♥.

We have been with GreenGeeks for about a year, and are very pleased with their level of service and support. We signed up, and within a few hours, they migrated us to their servers for free. We started off with a shared account, which quickly grew into more traffic than it could handle. We moved to the $59.95/per month VPS server, which all took place within an hour of the request. We continued to grow in traffic, and have just upgraded to the $99/month VPS server, again, the upgrade happening within an hour of notification.

As far as service, I have nothing but good things to say about GreenGeeks. We had several issues during the initial phase of web development, which we did ourselves, and even though most of the issues were not hosting related, every one of their support staff jumped in and helped us out when requested. We use CloudFlare on our site to assist in the deployment of content and recently had an issue develop which resulted in DNS errors. The problem ended up being on Cloudflare's end. Despite that, GreenGeeks support staff jumped right in, escalating the ticket and gave us answers as to what was happening, and where the issue was originating, as well as the best options to resolve the problem.

I should note, that we paid for the shared hosting plan for 3 years, and after moving to a VPS server, and making a request, they billing department quickly transferred our shared hosting credit to our VPS server account.

We have used 2 other hosts for our website, and never have we had the support that we get with Greengeeks.

Outstanding!!! They're incredibly attentive to your needs and the folks in Migration (Ron, Will, the rest of the group) go all out to help you in anyway they can - a great bunch of professionals! I initially signed up for just 1 month to try their Reseller Hosting services out (as I've been burned before with other company's long term hosting commitments that turned out bad) and 5 days later - I signed up for the year!!!

Great Service and Documentation

I have had a reseller account, the most basic level, with GreenGeeks for over 1 year now. I have a few small business clients for whom I provide hosting services. On the occasions it has been needed, tech support has been timely, responsive, courteous, and informative.

Uptime has been excellent. I have not been aware of a single outage in over a year, Any outages that may have occurred would have to have been very brief not to attract the attention of myself or any of my clients.

The value is excellent. Instead of paying to have my domain hosted, I am getting paid to provide hosting services, making my domain hosting requirements a profit point instead of an expense.

Watch out for their policies on renewals and customer service when trying to cancel an account with Green Geeks. My account was suspended, so I sought to terminate my account because of the economic circumstances currently happening in my country and businesses are just not spending on web presence any more and having this hosting was not feasible at this time. The email I had listed was a hosted email through my domain which when the account was suspended that email became inactive, I subsequently added another working email to have this problem rectified which by the way never registered as my primary email even though I tried. During the cancellation process i submitted a ticket and they responded by sending a link to submit another request to cancel, which I submitted. Thinking that this is end of the process i did not check my green geeks account, (BTW there was no indication during the cancellation that I would need to confirm my cancellation). This was a grave error because a few days later to my surprised I was charged on my credit card for the service that in my opinion was cancelled and email was sent to the new email indicating that I in fact had been charged. To make a long story short after several attempts to rectify the problem the company personnel said it was my fault and even though I contacted them immediately after to being charged that I will not be refunded. The customer service representatives both via live chat and over the telephone were completely rude and showed no empathy to my problem nor offered an amicable solution. I have cancelled services with other companies and never had this kind of problems before, namely hostmonster, bluehost and others and I never experience poor customer service like this nor was I treated with disdain and in one case I received a full refund and discounts on products and services with these companies. I will continue with the service until it expires next year but I will NEVER RECOMMEND GREEN GEEKS NOR WILL I EVER HAVE ANY OF MY CLIENTS USE THEIR SERVICE, because their lack of compassion, distasteful customer service, poor refund policy (even though I contacted them immediately after about the issue), inability to be flexible or their iron clad policies which does not take into account that their customers are humans and sometimes problems happens with processes which can lead to serious issues. I must commend their customer service personnel for making me feel like crap and not once accepting that they were part of the problem. I will be happy to provide anyone with the transcripts of my interactions with this company.

So I joined a startup as the lead web developer and that was the first time I heard about GreenGeeks. The UI was good and live chat was helpful for small trivial issues and I really enjoyed fixing issues and had no problems with the hosting for the first month.
A month later all of our websites were down and my manager got an email saying resource limit exceeded for root.Yeah just a line with that text and IP address. We contacted them via phone, he opened a ticket for us. He didn't knew what was going on. We contacted the live chat, he just escalated the ticket to higher level.

For 30-40 minutes we had no idea what was going on with our websites and clients were calling on. They took an hour and replied that a site had a lot of fae traffic which it couldn't handle and so our server was down (this was after an hour of opening the ticket). They fixed it and gave us some tips to avoid it.

One of our client's website went down 3-4 times in the next 3 weeks. Since we had shared hosting it was exceeding the resource and the support ticket wasn't really explaining anything. It was a nightmare. I had to personally ask them to increase the resources allocated to website until we move it to vps.

We implemented MaxCDN on that site and it broke a couple of hours later. Turned out greengeeks server was blocking all MaxCDN IP addresses. We contacted them to unblock it and they again opened the ticket. It took them 3 hours just to whitelist a bunch of IP addresses which we provided just because our ticket was in queue the website was broken for 3 hours.

We decided to move it to VPS and they were happy to help with migration. We filled out the migration form. It took them 6 days to migrate the website they claim to do in a day. They updated us the first time saying wp_head() function broke. We fixed it right away and told them to try again and they didn't respond for 2 days. We had put the client on hold for the whole time because the new content wouldn't be migrated. Tired of waiting we told clients to make changes and requested them to re-do the migration with new copy and we've fixed the wp_head() function.
No response for next 2 days. I contacted the live chat and they said a guy is working on you. I REQUESTED them to keep us updated because I have to answer to my manager. He said we'll do so and we never hear back from them until the next day when they finished the migration.

I am really not a fan of it anymore. Sometimes they do a great job but most of the times they take a lot of time to reply to the ticket. I mean A LOT.
If you just wanna put a static website, go for it. If you wanna keep updating the website and make major changes, avoid greengeeks.

In all honesty GreenGeeks is good, but I was a bigger fan of BlueHost. As for response time from support? Eh....About 2 days by mail. You can surely do better Geeks! Their uptime speed is good...which is nice. As far as features are concerned, I also think BlueHost had a better offering. I don't think they're the most responsive and my question required followup but overall ok.

We had an issue because we make some mistakes in our company that affects our service. The support team of greengeeks solve the problem by hearing us. The issue was not an ordinary one, they really read and scalate and were not happy until they found a solution. We recomend them to everyone, specially because we feel that we are talking to human beings and not with robots that are programed to repit a speech. THANK YOU SUPPOR TEAM, specially Galvin.

Avoid greengeeks at any cost, awfull support and borderline scam.The registration page shows you the cheapest monthly price but you are actually billed 2 years worth of their hosting. The total price is actually well hidden. And then comes cancellation. Oh god, what a ride! Bounced between departments, long response time, and finally, they still keep a 15$ fee for a subscription that was cancellled the same hour it was registered. Seeing how they treat (new) clients, I would never trust my business there!

My experience with GreenGeeks it's really bad. After been their customers for three years I've asked them for another service but since the service wasn't enough good I've decided to cancel it.
Since then I've sent 20 emails, chats with them, phone calls in order to have my money back and they first offer a refund with other services that I've declined after when I've asked for my money back they never reply back to me.
If you read the review on different websites you will notice that this always happen with them.

It's really a bad service, stay away!

Me and my partner have been using GreenGeeks reseller hosting for over a year now. First fun fact was the free customer management system ClientExec licesnse they provide to all of their customers for free ($12/month value). Next fun fact was their support - very fast and efficient. We usually received an answer within the first hours after submitting a ticket. They helped us with every aspect setting up our reseller hosting. We actually had a major problem after using them for about a year - one of our clients files were accidentally deleted, that's where GreenGeeks nightly backups come in handy - they restored everything. That was a relief! Friendly, fast, efficient and green - that's what GreenGeeks are! Thank you for all the hard work and a wonderful first year, looking forward working with you the next year too!

Very good and responsive customer service. I also find that their documentation for setting up my hosting is friendly and good.
I would recommend it to any one looking for a cheap but reliable web hosting.

I moved our group of sites to a greengeeks VPS 5 years ago, and have never looked back. Support has been responsive and polite, willing to help with problems which had nothing to do with their services. We just did an OS upgrade, and instead of doing like most hosts who upgrade and leave you on your own, they have helped through all the little bugs that an upgrade causes, even identifying and fixing software issues.
At no time have I had any issues with their services, and I was pleased when I was told by a programmer who is doing some custom work for one of the sites that he's shocked at our server's speed -- he actually had to change the code in his app because the page was refreshing faster than the code could execute.
If you need a VPS, this is the host to use. Nobody in the 12 years our site group has been in existence has ever provided this kind of service, and they've got our business for life!

We've been using Green Geeks for 4 /12 years now and are picky since we ran our own regional data center and network from 1997-2005. Great technical support and excellent value. If your still hosting your sites on a provider that takes 72 to respond to a request WHY ARE YOU?

I am not computer savy at ALL! I ask a lot of questions and do not understand a lot of programs on the computer. Kurt G is very professional and quick to respond. He answered all my questions and was extremely patient. He walked me through all the issues I had and even sent a screen shots of the most difficult tasks. I really appreciated his patience and kindness. I have asked a few people on the support to help me and a lot of them just left without saying a word. Kurt stayed until the end and was very eager to help me in every way he could. Thank you Kurt G., you have made my experience with GreenGeeks professional and productive.

GreeGeeks totally, most definitely and completely ROCKS!!! Seriously, their sales, customer support and technical are all amazing. They exceed every expectation I have about customer support and value for your money. I swear I have never waited more than 10 minutes for response to my question or support ticket request (even at 3:30am). The account management features easy access to all your accounts with a single sign-on and the WHM/cPanel has everything I need to support my customers. So glad I made the change from JustHost (who shouldn't even be considered at all)... I definitely am a customer for life!!!

First time I approached Support Service as I am new to Green Geeks. Yes rocks. Excellent and my issue was resolved under 6 minutes. Great job!
I was having issues with logging in as the password I received was not working.
I got in touch with Support team (David) and told him what the issue was.
He asked me to try again and give him the error message and I did so.
He reset the password and sent me a message in under 2 seconds.
I tried the new login and Bingo! it worked.
So now, I can meet my dead line with the University!!!!

Really Appreciate it.

GreenGeeks is good...until you try to leave. We were auto-charged for another 3-year contract. When we asked if we could cancel they said they don't do prorated refunds; we'd lose over $100! They suggested we keep the account open since we had already paid for it.

So we asked them to turn off auto-renewal. They said they can't do that either. They said we must remember in three years to cancel the account before renewal. Or we go again.

Either their system is so far out of date that it can't handle these things, or they are maliciously imposing these rules. Either way, there are other hosts out there that give refunds and allow you to disable auto-renewal.

Yes, i am VERY satisfied with my changing to GreenGeeks, is the best hosting company ever!!!

I had too much problem with resseller accounts here in Brazil, i tried 3 of the biggest hosting companies in Brazil, but the problem is that their reseller accounts, is trash!!! Sites offline, my clients getting mad with me, their emails offline, and other problems.

I was trully thinking on purchasing a personal web server here in brazil, but whenever I realized it would be SO expensive, it would not fit on my company`s budget, i realized that this would not be the solution.

So then i asked myself, why not try on a Hosting Server outside Brazil? Then i began to search on google about the best Web Hosting Company out there, and then i found GreenGeeks.

And all of these problems i faced here with Brazilian Companies of Web Hosting, i did not find here in GreenGeeks.

I have been with Greengeeks a little over three years. So far, I have had no complaints. Even when my site has had hiccups, when I seek support, they are pretty quick to respond, and find someone to help, if the first level of help doesn't quite cut it. I love how many options there are, and the fact that they are a green provider. I will definitely be staying with them as long as I want a presence on the web. So far, I am hosting three domains on the space, and the only problem I've had with any seriousness was a DDoS attack, which they were pretty quick about fixing. I definitely suggest trying them out, to anyone. They are definitely a lot of bang for the buck.

I decided to host with greengeeks based on price, and their commitment to green energy. But I had no idea they'd also offer tremendous support and such a wide range of features. I think it's the best value for the money out there. Live support happens in seconds, with expertise that solves issues immediately. Furthermore, company management is easy to access, and frequently checks in to make sure everything is okay. So the support is both proactive and reactive. I've never experienced any access or speed issues. And their unlimited data transfer and unlimited storage is just the icing on the cake. I'm glad my domains live here.

GreenGeeks was founded in 2008 with a goal to become the best green energy web hosting company in the industry. CEO Trey Gardner has worked in the industry prior to founding GreenGeeks, in association with hosts like iPowerWeb and Lunarpages. GreenGeeks was born when Gardner discovered that the hosting industry is one of the world's biggest contributors to pollution. The company is based out of Agoura Hills, California in the United States.

GreenGeeks places shared web hosting services front and center, to attract small and medium sized businesses that need eco-friendly, low cost hosting. It also sells reseller, VPS, and dedicated hosting for larger businesses.

GreenGeeks Hosting Plans

GreenGeeks offers Linux hosting, and does not have any Windows packages.

Its shared hosting plan allows for unlimited domains, space, and data transfer. New customers get a free domain, or a free transfer of their existing domain if they want to use GreenGeeks as their registrar. Migration is also free. Its WordPress hosting package is basically the same plan, but there's the option to keep WordPress updated automatically.

If you're not ready for shared hosting, GreenGeeks has a drag-and-drop sitebuilder. This can be activated on any plan.

Reseller hosting plans come in 5 flavors, and all allow unlimited accounts. You can also choose a datacenter in the US or Canada. The main difference is the resource allocation on the plans. All can be white labelled to give your reseller brand a professional appearance.

There are four VPS plans at GreenGeeks, but these are only available in its US datacenter. Plans include 4 cores of processing power, plus scaling bandwidth and disk space that increases according to the price. All plans have cPanel and WHM, free daily backups, and free migration.

There are four dedicated server plans, and its servers all include Intel processors with 5 IP addresses assigned to each one. Storage drives are SATA, and you'll get between 2 GB and 16 GB of RAM.

GreenGeeks Infrastructure and Guarantees

GreenGeeks' primary datacenter is in Chicago, IL in the United States. It uses additional facilities in Phoenix, Toronto, and Amsterdam. Its minimum specifications include gigabit connectivity, Intel Xeon processors, RAID-10 SSD storage arrays, and a complete ban on desktop-grade parts.

All plans can be set up in the Chicago facility, but the other facilities only house certain customer types. For example, the Amsterdam datacenter only houses shared hosting customers and no other hosting types; VPS plans are only set up in Chicago.

GreenGeeks has a 99.9% uptime guarantee. This is covered its terms and conditions, but it doesn't offer any form of account credit if it fails to meet that promise.

GreenGeeks Support

GreenGeeks provides 24/7 live chat and email support. It says that most tickets are resolved within 20 minutes. The support team handles the migration of websites when customers switch from other hosts. It's not clear whether free migration is limited to cPanel accounts only; the website doesn't make any distinction.

Phone support is also provided, but it isn't available 24/7. You can speak to someone between 9am and midnight EST on weekdays, 9am to 8pm on weekends.

GreenGeeks Control Panel

Every GreenGeeks hosting plan comes with the latest version cPanel, rather than a custom control panel of their own design. The majority of people with website management experience will be familiar with it, so in this respect, there's nothing new to learn if you're used to cPanel already. cPanel also makes migration slightly easier if you're coming from another cPanel host.

GreenGeeks' Green Credentials

One of GreenGeeks biggest selling points is, obviously, its eco-friendly stance. It purchases green tags to offset three times the emissions that its datacenters produce. It says that its datacenters are also designed to be environmentally friendly, although there are no specific details about the technology in use at its facilities.

GreenGeeks' Money-Back Guarantee

GreenGeeks offers a 30 day money-back guarantee for some hosting services. If you claimed a free domain, or a free domain transfer, the cost of it will be deducted, and extra services (like dedicated IPs) are excluded. To cancel, customers must contact support.

After the first 30 days, you won't receive a refund if you choose to cancel your service.

GreenGeeks Summary

Datacenters are huge power consumers, and it's only right that hosting companies take a stance against this. GreenGeeks' commitment to offset three times its own emissions means that it's doing more to make a difference, compared to many of its competitors. The lack of 24/7 phone support and multiple datacenter locations could be an issue to customers outside of North America.
