One.com Reviews

cheap to start with however has some issues:

terrible support.
massive hike in prices after 1 year.
they tend not to let you know of important issues but rather refer you to some random hidden contract term, i canceled a contract would have been nice to know it was not actually canceled till next year..
Paper invoices never arrive on time and by the time you get them they would of charged you a "late fee".
Apparently web hosting can not be canceled, it has to be done 35 days before the end of the contract. They don't remind you of this.

One.com is the best Hosting Company I have ever used I have 5 web sites currently hosted with One.com everything is excellent except some missing features the control panel is a customized control panel which does have all the features of cPanel no option to create multiple databases there is only one default database where you can create multiple tables and no ASP support they had asp support on their old servers but new servers doesn't support ASP.

Over all it is the Best I am happy with One.com and I Love One.com

One.com Are Great because
1. Very good technical support
2. Expert technical support handle problem very seriously
3. 99.9% up time just face problem for six hr only one time from the day I am with one.com
4. I will recommend one.com just price are little bit high then other hosting services

I used one.com for my hosting basically because it was the first company I came across back when I didn't know a whole lot about this stuff. For a simple personal website or blog, this provider is fine, the control panel is quite user friendly (apart from one thing- keep reading), and setting up email is nice and easy too.

Where I came into problems was when I wanted to change the DNS settings. The DNS settings page in the control panel makes no sense, and the help page is very misleading. I also had problems installing wordpress; In phpmyadmin, one.com has locked the ability to create multiple databases. You can only run one database at a time, with multiple tables. This could get very confusing if you were to have lets say a wordpress install, magento install, and mediawiki, eg wiki.website.com, blog.website.com and shop.website.com.

All in all, one.com was fine for hosting my portfolio website while at university, but now I want a much more robust solution.

I am a web designer and hosting my website with one.com. I often advise my customers to move to one.com from their current provider for variety of reasons. Starting from the price. For 3Gb of server space they charge only £9.00 net for the first year and approx. £20 net per annum for every year after. Some of my customers were paying up to £90 per annum with their current host, and some hosts dont even provide php scripting on their servers in basic packages.
With one.com even in most basic package you get fully operational control panel with Statictics, Web Builder software (very useful for the customers who want to make small changes on the website, like changing text or pics with no technical knowledge of html or web designing).
Email accounts up to i believe 12 in the standard package.

Technical support is really good. Especially online chat support, there is always someone there to help, almost no waiting time for the operator. And this is a nice supprise compared to other providers, where either there is no one to pick up the phone, or chat online support button exist on the site only to make it look more professional, but there is never anyone to talk on the other site when you have a problem.

Level of technical knowledge of the stuff is also satisfying, they are dealing with the problem quickly and effectively, also you can have transcription of chat conversation sent to you by email, after you finished talking to them.

Suitable for most small , medium size businesses. I have no concerns to recommend this host to anyone.

Our Profile

One.com is a relative latecomer into the European hosting scene, having been founded in 2002. The company was previously known as B-one and has established a reputation for providing innovative hosting solutions. Its founder, Jacob Jensen, is still in charge at One.com today and it remains a privately owned firm.

Company and Services
Whether you are a seasoned pro or a website novice, One.com sets out to provide a hosting package to fit your needs. Their goal has always been to provide hosting products and services which are simple and easy to use, yet flexible. This has been a winning combination which has seen One.com experience continual growth from the beginning. Currently, One.com has more than 500,000 customers in nearly 150 countries.

One.com has formed several key business partnerships which have furthered its success. The first is with Hewlett-Packard which provides all of its servers. The second is with the pan European server specialist Interxion which runs One’s data centers. One.com also provides free GoogleAds vouchers to its customers. Finally, it has agreements with domain registrars in different European countries and so it can help customers to easily get registered in individual territories.

One.com has branches in Denmark, UK, Portugal and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to sales offices in Germany and the Netherlands - making it a truly international organization. Its workforce numbers around 80.

Three types of shared hosting are offered. These are distinguished by the amount of disk space provided, though all three have unlimited data transfer and email accounts, as well as several other useful features. There is an impressive 99.9% uptime guarantee.

Technical support is available in up to seven different languages and can be reached by email and live chat. There is also a knowledgebase on One.com’s website.
