One.com is amazing and it rock, technical support is probably the first thing i would like to talk about because it's great . They are quick to respond on all queries you have regarding hosting or any other thing you want to ask about.
Today getting your business online is the most important thing. So, If you are a small business and want to get your business online without making a hole in your wallet , choose one.com.
Thankyou for reading everyone. :)
I have been using one.com for 3 years now, in the beginning their chat support used to be good and live, and i think things changed these last two years maybe because they have more clients, same employers amount of people as before, so maybe its the pressure. Because now you have to write and email and wait for few days!
Well anyways my experience with One.com was great, i got help right away like i said when chat was live (i dont know if it still exists though), i used to have answers right away and they helped me alot, i also recommended it to many people.
I've been using One.com's domain and web hosting plan since April. Without any doubt, I can say this is one of the best providers in the domain and hosting world. Why?
- There live support are way better than other hosting sites.
- Fast response on chat.
- Their support ticket's reply works like light speed. Within 10 minutes of time, I get replies from their support ticket.
- 100% Up time, I never saw my site down anytime.
- I've a lot of domains hosted on their site, one of them are FearlessShop.com.
- They provide free SSL certificate too on every plan.
- When you comment something on their FB page, they will reply. When you message them on their FB page, They will reply (it may take 2-3 hour to get reply or little faster).
- I just love their customer support.
- Their dashboard and Cpanel looks more awesome than other's providers.
- I had recommended my all friends, all business partners to use their service. They really liked it.
- To be honest there is nothing, I can say bad. Because I've not seen anything bad on their service.
I recommend everyone to test their service, if you like to. I guarantee, you will like it for sure.
One.com is one of the best hosting companies that I've had. You get your first year for free, you just have to pay the setup fee and you're good to go. They upgraded my hosting account from 15GB to 200GB and unlimited sites for free, that was amazing from them. The support is very nice and they try their best to solve the problems or concerns as fast as they can. I'm on one.com since April and I haven't had any downtime or problems with them.
Well, I am on One.com since 2 years and I faced some problem but the support is okay they solved it within 2-3 days and that's good, They have far nice features But some times my site crashes If it get's too munch traffic that's not a good thing tho!
The service is cheap, but hosted websites are regularly down! They even acknowledge their SLA is 99%. This means your website may be down up to 87 hours per year!! So I would recommend to avoid them for any serious website. I'm moving away, even if it takes me time and money to move the website and emails...
Everything seemed fine at first. A nice, fast, simple interface. There was an issue uploading via ftp as I had not transferred my domain name to them, and nor did I want to. After dealing with one useless chat support, I got someone who knew what they were doing and they gave me an alternate ftp address to upload to. Very fast transfer - great. Then I want to check that my website was actually working before I redirected live traffic. No option to view it in the control panel. Nor is there a URL for redirects. So back to chat support, where upon support refuses to give me a url to view my site. Wants me to mess around with d with name servers with my other service or just out and out transfer. No amount if requesting and finally arguing, would get them to give me a simple rules to check my site. And therein us their business model, as far as I can work out, they don't want to be redirected to, they want you to transfer your domain name because when you see what they charge for renewals, that's where they really take you to the cleaners. Asked for a refund. Have not gotten it. Avoid.
When I first learned about One.com's services I was a little reluctant to try it out. They offered me a domain and hosting for 25 cents for an entire year. Usually with cheaper hosting sites you don't get much in terms of tools. Much to my surprise I wound up with the same set of tools that I would get from one of the larger hosting companies (ie. GoDaddy, 1and1). Thus far it's been a great service for me, the only down side would be that registering a 2nd domain comes at full price and is a bit of a downer.
While one.com may be appealing at first, I initially signed up because of the free domain offer, their support is poor as well as their service.
Firstly, their support was poor and takes a while to respond, while my experience with other hosts is having issues resolved within minutes, it's been days and no progress has been made.
When going on live chat with an issue, they simply tell you to "email them" and after that it takes days and possibly weeks to resolve your issue.
My issue with them initially was them charging me without prior notification for a service I didn't even know I purchased from them. The issue had to be resolved by talking to my bank and having them dispute the transaction. For people who don't have a lot of spare time on their hands and just want to run their site, I would not recommend one.com.
Honestly - I have rarely come against such incompetence.
Firstly - I am unsure why they cannot find a secure way that doesnt involve me sending them a scanned paper signature when I want to make a change or set something up.
Secondly - once I send the scan it seems to disappear into an unknown cloud of organisational uselessness. So nothing gets done.
Thirdly - when asking what on earth is going on no one really seems to know.
The product looks polished but there is little under the hood. I urge you to avoid this company and find another provider who seems to have more of a clue.
One.com is a web host that helps companies get a web presence with ease, providing low-cost web space and site building tools. The company claims more than 950,000 members worldwide, so it’s a truly massive web host, and it offers multi-lingual support - a rarity in the web hosting industry.
Founded in 2002, One.com is a Danish company founded by Jacob Jensen. It also has a presence in Dubai and offices in Germany, Holland and the UK, but its data centre is located in Denmark. The support team is busy, answering more than 90,000 tickets and calls per month, and the website is available in ten different languages including Spanish, French and Portuguese.
One.com Hosting Plans
One.com’s web hosting is presented in the form of a standard package with a sliding scale of disk space allocation. This is almost certainly Linux shared hosting, although that’s not clear from the information on the website.
The lowest cost plan provides 5 GB disk space, with the biggest capacity plan offering 2 TB for a much heftier fee. Special offers are sometimes available, bringing the lowest-capacity plan down to zero cost for one year, although there is a setup fee on all plans.
One.com’s hosting seem to come with a free domain name, judging by the sign-up screen, although this isn’t heavily promoted. The setup fee does cancel out the benefit of the free domain to some degree.
It seems that One.com’s web hosting packages are geared towards beginners. There’s a lack of technical detail about bandwidth and other features, but the company’s site builder, Web Editor, is heavily promoted. All plans come with unlimited email addresses on the chosen domain, and bandwidth on email and websites appears to be unlimited, except for sites classified as ‘download sites’ where each hit generates 1 MB of traffic or more.
One.com also market a cloud drive storage service alongside their web hosting plans, but this isn’t technically cloud hosting. It’s a private service, much like Dropbox or Google Drive. It is rather heavily promoted alongside hosting, but in actual fact, it’s a separate product entirely.
One.com do not offer any uptime guarantees or statistics. Their data centre is part of Interixion, and is located in Denmark. The server room is comprised of HP servers with redundant power, and facilities are monitored 24/7, all year round.
All of One.com’s servers are powered by windmills. The host purchases RECS credits to achieve this.
As already mentioned, One.com handle 90,000 support requests each month, so their support department is undoubtedly busy. The company does not appear to offer telephone support. Instead, customers are invited to use an email form or live chat to get answers to their questions. It’s not clear if emails are allocated to a ticketing system, although it would be logical to assume so.
Support is provided in English, French, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian and Danish. The team deal with support requests in multiple languages on their Facebook page and their Twitter feed, giving a couple of extra support options if things go wrong.
The company’s FAQ covers only very basic issues, such as describing the differences between POP and IMAP or telling users how to reset their passwords.
One.com Control Panel
The control panel provided by One.com is entirely custom to the company and appears to be locked down to some degree. The site mentions that customers can access site building tools and scripts from the control panel, and it also provides access to some more advanced tools such as phpMyAdmin. There’s a lack of information about the control panel on the website, but it’s arguably not quite as capable as some of the more standard tools other hosts have in place.
One.com do not offer any free gifts, except for (possibly) a free domain name. They place more emphasis on their free site builder, Web Editor, a free video photo gallery tool and a free blog tool. The are only one of each on offer, and it appears that these are One.com’s own packages and are not well-known applications.
Although not a bonus as such, there is a free cloud drive service available This is free for everyone though, not just One.com customers. It offers 5 GB on signup plus 500 MB per referral, up to a maximum of 30 GB.
One.com Money Back Guarantee / Cancellation Policy
If you’re not happy with your service at One.com, you can cancel the service within 15 days for no fee. If the customer has made multiple orders, all orders except the first will have their ‘free’ domain name fee deducted from the refund.
The One.com website is very light on technical information. Despite the potential for massive storage capacity, it appears that the host would rather attract customers who want to build very small websites for personal use. It also clearly markets its services at European customers.
Multi-lingual support options may appeal to people looking for technical help in their own language, but the lack of a contact number is a distinct disadvantage when things go wrong. However, One.com does have very active Twitter and Facebook accounts.
If you’re a complete novice who needs an easy way to build a website, One.com have the niche pretty much sewn up. Just bear in mind the lack of uptime guarantees.

one.com you get what you pay for.
Only use it for simple low traffic websites, like 90% of all the sites in the world.
Never use it for e-commerce (never)... because you are then financial reliable of an econmy hosting providers (massive, massive overselling. Only interest is to have as many customers as possible)
If you have a high traffic website, they will slow down your services, or block, or say you need to move.... that's one.com.
If your site url is shown on the news, or if gets viral.... your website will crash in seconds... because they do massive overselling they have strict resource limit/user (processor/memory) ... to protect all other clients on that server.
A high quality hoster, mostly hosts 50 sites / server. Economy hosting providers, easily push 300 sites on 1 server.
Fast servers, don't bog down like godaddys when your site is got allot of visitors or being worked on. Their support is top notch, get a response in matter of few hours if not quicker depending on the situation. They offer excellent features and they have made me a customer for life. I do wish they would use a cPanel interface instead of their own control panel for your site but their version is just as easy and user friendly as they come. Way to go one.com! I will defiantly be telling my friends and all others about your excellent services and even better prices!
I had a very nice experience with one.com. while hosting my website there never was any trouble, and I don't think I've been warned in so many ways ever before that my website was shutting down because I didn't expand my membership. Why you ask? well, because I needed another web domain. Whenever I will have the time to work on a website I will again host this domain at one.com. Very good! I want to thank them for their great service and webhosting!
I can't say that I ever encountered their tech support (which is a good thing of course) so I can't say anything about that. Sorry!
one.com rocks reason, because I have hosted more than 10 domains in one.com and they're very nice and easy to to set up. The good thing about it is that it comes with a website package with good templates which makes it easier for beginners to host with ease. Nice control panel and email inbox. Easy to use, easy to register. Fadigs
I use their services for 3 years. I can tell you that they are quite cheap and cost effective. I do not understand why a lot of people complain about customer support, whenever I needed the help of their support they were always online.
You are only allowed one FTP account and one MySQL account, but both have 100% uptime and have never lost a file. You can only have one MySQL DataBase, too, which is bad.
NON EXISTANT email support. The Live support NEVER works as no one is ever online. I set up a domain and emailed them about changing my name servers and no reply. Now I am stuck with a domain I can do nothing with until I can get them to cancel it. Is anyone even there??!
I have two websites hosted on One.com...They are really one of the best hosting providers..Plans are cheap and they have quality costumer support. Keep Going
This is one of the worst companies I have ever had the misfortune to have to deal with. I was moved from a previous domain by our IT guy, and it was done without consulting me first, I don't even know why he moved as we had never had any problems before. Everything was fine the first year, but when the renewal went out I never received it and have now spent a month with their "Customer Services" who are absolutely useless. It took me about 2 weeks to find out that there was an unpaid bill because when I first contacted them they kept asking me to fill out a form and then another form and then a different form. Eventually I was told the renewal had not been paid but to date 2 different people have given me totally different information about how much I have to pay! Unbelievably incompetent company.
Well, I thought I had found a good hosting provider because they were cheap. All I can say is if you have a simple website that you never update, don't need a database and don't use emails then it can be OK but after the first year you pay 33GBP a year and that is not cheap any more and you will get extremely basic services.
If like me you have several active websites and you need to send and receive emails, update your website and use the database then forget it. What will happen is you will have days when nothing works and they disable chat so you are left on your own with no way to finding out what is going on and the next day when they have fixed the problem they will tell you your browser wasn't working and chat was and there were no problems with their systems. Problem is chat is now working on my browser and the technical problems I was having were with FTP, my web editor and my file administration system, I was getting errors. They will dismiss your problems, disable chat and tell you your imagining things. This is typical with them, they don't even ask you what browser you are using or should be using or why one day it works one day it doesn't and that kind of reply takes 24 hours! Today I was sending bulk emails to my subscribers, 250 every five minutes, right? Well it sent the first and then gave me errors for all the others. I spent one hour and a half talking to support and in the end they tried to convince me that there were four emails that were trying to resend 30 times and that violates their server policy so it could take 24 hours before I can send emails again, of any type! And they say this is no error, no bug, no problem and if I don't like their email policy I can go and find another email server to send email! Get it? Support works like this, they deny there are ever any problems, they give you short nonsensical answers and hope you go away, tell you to try again in 24 hours etc.. In the end with my email it says not sent but it did send so now my sent box is telling me not sent but I know they were sent because I was copied in the email, but if I send emails it tells me not sent and then it sends two hours later! In the end they disconnected the chat which basically means that if email doesn't work go elsewhere, they have never solved a problem, their strategy is to make your support experience so pointless that you give up, take it or leave it one.com does not offer support, email, functioning db etc..It's not there sorry. Also with PHP if you try to export data it will try and insert stuff and will crash your browser, very dangerous behaviour. I live in panic mode with one.com and as you might have guessed I am running away, my only problem is that my accounts have different end dates so I will loose some money when I transfer my domains. My advice don't use one.com unless you really don't care about your website, one.com is a holding place for simple websites and nothing more. Hope this review helps.
The support isn't the best. That said, it costs dirt cheap. If you want to host a website for $1, this is the place. Excellent services and control panel. They also give you a free SSL certificate.
The support is one of the worst I have seen, I got passed around to 3 diffrent people to help me, but at the end they were not customer service oriented and did not help me at all. DO NOT RECOMEND THEM. there are other and better and more professional companies out there
bad support a lot of times (like now) my site is down, speed might be OK but not for long. the speed and down time issues hurts Google rankings. if you have a business that is more than a hobby than choose another hosting provider!!!!
In Simple words it is cheap, fast and easy to setup. This web-host is for newbies or blogs who are just starting out. There first year is free :( but actually you have to pay 13.80$ as setup fees, but actually this is still cheap as you are getting 1 domain name and hosting for year.
Support :- Until now there support works for me, they reply with in seconds and they solved many issues regarding WordPress. So there support is fast & knowledgeable.
Up-time :- For last 3 months i haven't seen any downtime.
Backups :- They offer daily backups , and you can ask them for backups files for any given day Note:- there is no option for backups with in control panel.
WordPress :- They offer 1 click WordPress installation, and there support is knowledgeable about WordPress so you will face no problems.
Control Panel :- There control panel is different looking from others , it features tile like options, there cPanel offers limited control as compared to other webhostings.
Setting Up :- This is the worst part :( when you signup , you have to print document then sign it and then you need to fax that document in order to get you account going.
Last notes :- Best and cheap webhositng, they are big company and are around for years now.so if you are starting out new and you are short on cash then this web-hosting is best for you.
Terrible company to deal with. Don't be fooled by the low prices, as it also only allows the company to afford terrible customer service teams.
Transferred domains and hosting from a previous provider, and it has taken 19days (without any confirmations) to find out that the transfer is still taking place, meaning the website and emails are completely out of action, losing the company money.
Their response: "You should have made yourself aware of this before making the transfer". So basically, we don't care.
Think twice. You have been warned.
They are pretty framed, and if you need any support it will be hard or sometimes even impossible to resolve problems. Several times when I needed something to be done, I started long conversations with their support receiving only short answers and it usually ends up: we don't provide that kind of service, or even worse: this can not be done. I wish to underline that those were mostly basic request that any host could provide such as to access your email accounts via ftp (quite normal thing via cpanel) but no, at one.com they would say" you can not do that. we don't provide that kind of service. pretty frustrating.
We have launched our new website. We also had two other domains with them.
We like one.com because it's for professionals. There are many other providers who offer tons of options in their control panel, which is somehow designed for the beginners. If you are a professional go for one.com otherwise forget about it. Their control panel is very clean. They don't put too much junk option in their there. But they support almost every feature a web developer needs such as SHH, FTP, DNS, SSL, PHP, MySQL, unlimited emails, etc. They don't charge you for something you don't really need. Their websites are powered by wind turbines. That's one of our reasons for choosing them. They are not cheap, they are not expensive. They are reasonable They also give you a gift for the first year. They are always straight forward. Some people are talking about cancellation or auto-renewal policy which they believe it's tricky. No it's not! Just open your eyes and read what is written in FAQ and business terms and more importantly set your reminder for your important dates. We had
some paperwork with one.com regarding our accounts and they were really straight forward and not tricky. Beside that their 24/7 online support is pretty well organized.
The final note: Highly recommended for professionals...
Very cheap, often good deals, 24/7 support (very helpful), and a very organized dashboard that's easy to work around. Plenty of good documentation, and if there's something you can't find, just ask them!
Very satisfied thus far. Had one problem with downtime once, but they resolved it quickly. Heard other people with more traffic had more problems, but it has worked for me.
I started with the domain because it seemed cheap and the website clean and easy to understand. That was all fine until it came to the yearly renewal. I was sent an email to warn me of this, but unfortunately i did not get this warning and then when they sent again, i wanted to cancel my subscription, but they would not let me.
This was my email (removing hello and my name to end it... "I would like to CANCEL my subscription to one.com. Regards". I don't think that i could be any more explicit!
However, more than three months on and my account is still open, ready for the next renewal so that they can send a warning email that i may or may not receive and then take more money from me. Not just that, but they get to add £10 on to the bill if you do not receive / see another email as well. Also, as part of the cost is an automatic renewal charge of £6.... which i clearly do not want!
Altogether i am disgusted by the poor service, the rudeness and destain that they seem to treat customers with. It seems they don't want your service, but to catch you out so that they can make more money from you.
I would AVOID one.com and search elsewhere unless you don't mind being stung!
This is pretty cool host.Free for the First Year,I hope not to get robbed after the one year!!
Just wordpress - one -click installation is in sufficient, however what ever are available are quiet cool.
Difficult to set up scripts. Excellent customer care response, especially the chat. Web-builder is a
bit sluggish and may take a little while for a newbie to get acclimatised.Security excellent.an I will stick
to them as much as I can. If they are not going to overcharge me for the Hosting, hell they are cool!!
Overall, a pleasant experience so far. Letsguide.it needs to catchup a zillion,it would be great if they were
to add affiliate management. Verdict-go for it,they are genuine.
Terrible hosting, goes down all the time, it's so slow and customer service doesn't even bother to really help you out.
one.com sucks, why, because they don't support php properly i write website and i have a email form page that wont work on there hosts, it will work on all other web hosts iv tested out over the years, when i emailed them to ask why they said its my code in my php file, funny how my code is direct from w3c.org and has also been check by stack overflow guess what my code is perfect, they don't seem to know what there doing, there site wizard hides a ton of adverts in your web pages and on top of that there was the same pages complete with all there adds on my computer and iv never even downloaded anything from them ever, all iv done is uploaded pages that i wrote in notepad ++ so how the hell did there webpages full of there own adverts for the hosting get on my computer, and on top of all this they also made it very hard to move my domain name away from them to another provider, it took 3 days of a lot of messing about, stay away from them unless you are stupid and know very little about websites.
I was with One.com for 3 years but was never entirely happy with them. They are a Danish company and the hosting is cheap, but their admin is expensive.
They have a 24/7 online chat service but the operators have limited English knowledge, either they give short answers that do not answer your question, or they keep sending bits of text referring to the terms of contract. When I left them they charged me to close the account, and wanted £50 to transfer my own registered website from off their servers to another provider. No phone numbers to contact their office, and email communication is difficult as they don't understand questions.
I have used one.com for years..... they are so cheap and easy to use... but it ends there. Host your website with one.com but god forbid dont get any traffic or they will suspend your domain without warning! i guess you get what you pay for....
I have an hosting plan hosted by one.com and the quality is level zero ! I recommend other hoster because uptime is really low and I think the media does not respond properly to customer requests, more hidden conditions that bind you has closed this hoster!
I have been trying out many hosts and none of them suited my needs. One.com was the only web host that had excellent support that answers within 24hours. They helped me solve problems that were occurring on my site such as slow page load which they fixed it within hours. Uptime has been great so far and I haven't noticed any downtime yet. I recommend everyone to try this host
I'm disgusted by the poor service and dodgy tricks that this One.com, a Dubai-Based company is using to get customers to renew automatically the subscription.
Creating an account is easy and not expensive but when it comes to stop using them, you need to cancel the auto subscription by sending an email. In my case they sent letter by post (to my old address) and their emails went to my spams box. As their do not use the phone, their is no one to call you.
After contacting them, they only write basic and standard email to remind you about the 30 days and T&Cs !
Automatic renewal is NOT clearly highlighted on their website and the process should be more straight forward !
My tip: AVOID ONE.COM !
I have used many different web hosters. I host a number of websites. All I can say is that one.com has beaten them all for me. The website is easy to use. The features they provide are excellent. The 24/7 immediate chat and service is better than any other that I have used. On top of that their prices are great. I haven't noticed any down time. Today I am wandering if they can host my business videos but if they don't they still do what I expect from and ISP to host my website and manage my emails very well!
Uptime has been excellent for the several sites that i have had using one.com
It's not particularly feature rich but the one that they have are well implemented and it is easy to use. If you contact to support they can provide you with the link to a site that show how to do manual installations of the popular products and they also provide you with some good generators that can you paste on your site.
They do not support SSL Certificates which was a bit of bummer and pretty much make running a ecommerce business with them impractical.
Support has always is been good or above. they have helped me with my domain registration when i spell it wrong in the other case, re-registered the product as i put in the totally wrong name. I'm Pretty sure that don't have to do this but it is not problem for them.
This hosting is really cheap and great value for your money
One.com is great for professional users and for commercial resellers but not for individuals, individuals and freelancers can rely of much cheaper hosting plans.
The web hosting in One.com can be interpreted in One word: Great!
For me is the number one in webhosting and the number one in service, the number one in their prices , and the number One in experience with more than 20 years in the business!
They offer cloud service for free and SSL security for your webpage for free for all their customers. It's just Great!
One.com is a great domain/host provider! I saw their special offer where you can get a free domain & hosting for the first year which was an awesome deal so I bought it. When I bought this offer I was given a friendly tutorial on how to use their interface since this was helpful cause I was more used to using cpanel. Their interface was easy to navigate and I was able to do one click install on various web scripts like wordpress, joomla, drupal etc...
They answer support quite quickly and up time has been great for the past few months. Keep up the great work one.com you'll make new customers love you!
simply the best service i have ever come across, I run three websites with them, never had a problem ... simply I love it
I have been hosting my site with one.com for 2 years. First year was awesome but now it is HORRIBLE! The customer service is a joke. I have been dealing with a mistake they made for the past 3 months and they still can't figure it out. They just keep charging me over and over again after I have made the payment 2 times. I would highly NOT recommend them to anyone!!!
Bad experiences with one.com.
Aggressive with subscriptions, had to pay 50 euro's extra because I didn't cancel the automatic renewal of the contract in time...
Bad service and use of ONLY ONE DATABASE...
"Use prefixes " is their solution... :/
One.com is good and cheap but has a major shortcomming: Their DNS functionality and administration control panels are plain stupid.
They lack the ability to add the common DNS record types TXT and SRV. This basically makes one.com incompatible with certain features of Office365 which is growing in popularity.
A domain should have a TXT "SPF" record to prevent spam abuse of your domain.
If you have Office365 and want to use Lync Online then you need the SRV type DNS records.
Its best in class, i had some problems with my domain name, one.com has resolved very quickly, i've contacted support team twice/hr rate, but its good, the are giving good suggestions, answers, I'm happy with this host. thanks one.com. for the pdomain problem i decided to get refund and buy new domain with host, but they dint stopped me further they rectified the problem of domain. im recommending this to all of my follower
Uptime has been excellent for the several sites that I have had using one.com.
It isn't particularly feature rich but the ones it does have are well implemented and easy to use. If you contact support they can provide you with a link to a site that shows how to do manual installations of popular products and can also provide you with some good generators that you can paste into your site.
They DO NOT support SSL certificates which was a bit of a bummer and pretty much makes running an ecommerce business with them impractical.
Support has always been good or above. They have helped me with my domain registration when I spelt it wrong and in another case, re-registered the product as I put in the the totally wrong domain name. I'm pretty sure they don't have to do this but it is no problem for them.
The hosting is dirt cheap and great value for money.
Overall, my experiences thus far have been really good!
Most important note: it will not re-size your pictures for you within the program. For someone who uses hundreds of pictures daily, this led me to cancel before I got any further. This in my mind is a major defect that has not been made known.
Furthermore, the hold times were horrible and the staff was less than knowledgeable. And they made me wait half an hour on hold just to cancel, even after I did it online.
I do not recommend.
They are not so great because they caused me a major problem, they force you into accepting hosting and then ask for a signed form.
I sent them a digitally signed form (legal in the EU, where they are based) and then a day later told me it would not be accepted.
When questioned about this they said it was their terms but when I asked if it was in their terms and conditions this was said in the chat;
you: why is digital signature not ok
you: this is 2014 not 1886
Michelle: We understand that but as much as we want to process it, it will still be rejected as our Admin team requires a handwritten signature.
you: it didn't say this in terms and conditions when I order.
you: I don't have a printer here I am complete virtual office and every day in my job i sign forms electronically which is legal signature
you: where can you show me this terms and conditions and why do you discriminate like this?
Michelle: We do not have that on our terms however this is the system process for verification of the registration.
So they just make up terms and conditions AFTER taking your money and making it impossible to work around.
These guys are dinosaurs and bureaucrats who registered a site for me and took my money and then want to complicate my hosting.
I will go somewhere else and hopefully get my money back. Ridiculous they want you to fax a form in 2014 and not even tell you they expect it until after payment. Obviously they know you wont sign up if you have to do this.....
NOT recommended. go with an easier host who can just do the job instantly. Now I am without my required website name and had downtime I could not afford.
2011 and 2012 were good, but 2013 has been seriously bad news and getting worse.
My main usage is backup and e-mail - not interested in the website side of life. However for the last four months I have been having loads of lockups and error messages making it unusable. All I get told is the equivalent of 'yes, we know, we are looking into it'. Not good enough for me, I am afraid.
I am voting with my feet (and wallet)!
Since i have started making my new website with one.com webhosting a few time ago, i am glad to say that is one of my favourite webhosters. The reasons are explained as follows:
1-Their servers speed is awesome, in few minutes after purchasing i got my website up and running.
2-Their 24/7 live chat help is excellent.
3- If you want to customize your website you have a variety of tools of personalization like free templates, installing your own managing system like wordpress with their one-click installation system.
4- Their mail service is excellent and very usefull for webmasters that want a personalized mail.
5- One.com webhosting have a very competitive prices and a excellent quality service.
i absolutely have no reason to complain. What is promised will be kept. ONLINE SUPPORT VERY FAST. So 5 stars in each column
Wordpress now is available as one-click install and the One.com file manager/editor and website creator has gotten a well-deserved overhaul. One.com still lacks some features compared to many other hosts, but in my opinion their support makes up for that. Every time I've had a problem, I've used their live chat support, and each time they fixed my problem. I even had a problem with a PHP script once, that they helped with. The control panel and tools are extremely easy to use. The price is great and I haven't experienced any downtime yet. So far I'm pretty happy.
One.com is always upto the time for support wether technical or other problem. there is one problem with registration is that it is not written about how many sql databases are allowed. there is only one sql database allowed with one domain which it creates automaticaly with the registration of domain name and unfortunately it is not possible to change the password of that sql database.One.com has one greate option of group admin for more than one domains and all domains can be administered through that option.
overall one.com team is very supportive and professional in dealing. Its very easy to contact them and solv the website realted problem.
My experience with one.com has been great so far. Their support has been absolutely amazing. The thing that I really like about the company is their 24/7 live chat, something that not a lot of companies offer at this moment of time, which I actually believe is one of THE most of important sides of a good hosting company. I've come to see that websites need 24/7 care at all times and when things go wrong at any moment of time, there should always be someone standing there ready to help you out.
The prices on their domains are reasonable as well. I've been with some Dutch hosting companies and they significantly charge more and at times unreasonably when you look at the different packages they offer.
One of the things I truly can't stand is limited traffic data. I believe that sort of thing is of the past and hosting companies should not charge you extra for larger traffic data. And that's what makes One.com another great hosting company, their traffic data is unlimited!
Their up-time and speed is perfect. I have no complaints about that whatsoever.
However one of the most important features, which One.com lacks, is an anonymous whois feature. I believe that privacy is one of the most crucial things you could ask for on the internet. I've had to step off their hosting plan just for that reason only. And I really think that One.com deserves to be able to offer anonymous whois because of their other strong features. The lack of that anonymous whois feature really creates a huge shortcoming for them and I don't think it's worth that blow. If some day One.com decides to offer anonymous whois then I would be the first one to jump over to one.com just for that reason! (And for the other reasons as well that I've mentioned in this review).
So if you want excellent support, unlimited data traffic with good up-time/speed and reasonable prices. I suggest you go for One.com. However if you find privacy to be one of your main concerns then I suggest you pick a different hosting company.
Thought I would give one.com a go as it was the first website I was building myself. Thought it all looked very easy until I tried to do my online shop and found that they couldn't help with that. Unlike other sites who give you the information you need. I was told I would have to get it all myself.
After a couple of weeks of being live I decided to add a facebook like button, which is in there components. As I did this it took all the other information off all my pages and as I previewed it it saved. I then went to the live chat only to be told that although they could do a rollback for me, I would have to print a form off, sign it and then send it along with personal ID, for them to do it. I would like to know why? They have never seen personal ID or signature from me and the fact that I am logged into the website didn't seem to be enough. Surely this leaves me open to ID fraud and a lot of wasted time and effort. This is the 4th person I have spoken to on live chat over the last couple of weeks and only one of them actually helped me. She went into the website there and then for me to do a little tweak, although it was a problem at their end not mine. Anyone wanting a website try another company.
On their first page one.com state "No strings attached! You are free to cancel your subscription anytime, should you wish to do so." (And they show a review site as giving them 4 stars when it gives them 3 and they say it states "Great Service" when it actually states "Acceptable"
But read this about my experience:
I was sent an e-mail from ONE.COM on 20th May 2013 telling me a domain I bought the previous year for £1.80 was being automatically renewed for £26 on the 17th June 2013. I replied immediately the same day (20th May) to cancel it. But One.com says that I gave them only 29 days notice and not 30 days. They are ignoring the fact they only notified me 29 days before? (Their error or on purpose? You decide!). They also say they sent me an earlier e-mail but accepted that it may have gone into spam. (I just allow my spam to be automatically deleted so would not have seen it).
Now they say they will keep adding £10 frequently as a "reminder fee".
I have no intentions of being bullied by them, even though they threaten to use "Danish Law" (is that because it helps swindling bullies?* You decide.)
And why the increase in fee? I only used it to send a few e-mails.
IS THIS A CLASSIC RIP-OFF FOR THE BRITISH CONSUMER? You decide!
So how does this figure with their "You are free to cancel your subscription anytime, should you wish to do so" claim?????
BE WARNED AND STAY AWAY FROM ONE.COM
* Not that I am saying one.com are "swindling bullies" of course; I leave that to your own opinions.
Awful company, resubscribed me when I didn't want to be resubscribed and are now charging me £50 and threatening me with legal action if I don't pay. Stay clear at all costs.
The downsides about one.com are:
1) one.com ONLY contains Linux, not windows or any other. For programmers this is NOT good at all.
2) They dont keep backups of your emails!
¨I transfer my hosting from one.com to dotster.com and lost all my emails! so I contacted one.com, send emails and got ¨online help¨ they weren't able to help me at all!!!!
**** BE AWARE OF THIS!
emails are really important, sometimes used as proofs or references. ONE.COM does NOT keep your backup or help you in any way, thats what happened to me and I had been paying them for the last 4 years!
I recommend you all trying dotster.com (at least its much better than one.com) Plus I find out one.com BUYS the domains from dotster.com! haha
Beware of there renewal policy, you have to cancel 30 days in advance, but you get invoiced automatically on the day of subscription is due no reminder emails.
I had a domain on one.com that I did not use. With all other hosts , such as godaddy, pair.com etc. if you want to drop a domain you just let it expire. Not so with one.com!
They auto-renewed the domain and are sending me a bill for nexts yearf for a domain I do not want. And not only the domain.. they also included a package with a lot of things I do not need, and do not want. I wrote to them about this , and specifically noted that it is 3 weeks until the domainname expires. But they still insist that I have to pay for the next year.
So in short: Use a webhost that treats customers like customers, not like slaves.
I have bought more than eight domains from one.com and have found them both efficient and reasonably priced. Not only that but I have had very little problems with downtime.
Some years ago some of my (old) emails were accidentally deleted but I probably wouldn't have noticed if they hadn't told me about it.
I recently had an issue with them where there was some confusion about the purchase price of a domain. I expressed dissatisfaction with the way the matter had been handled and they immediately (within the hour) offered to provide me with the domain I wanted and a year's registration at the original price. The manner in which they dealt with this complaint was good.
Additionally, their customer service is prompt and helpful. I don't even bother looking elsewhere these days for a host.
I have been a customer at one.com for several years. The first year I experienced slow servers sometimes but this has not been a problem in recent years. It pulls down that you can only have one domain / one website in one subscription.
HHaving registered two domain names, sadly my business partner died within a 24 hr period. I tried to cancel the names but have never received any communication from them or an answer from my enquiry. They are ignoring my refund application. I suggest people keep clear of them at all costs.
This is the worth web hosting ever. it is down all the time. one time my site was down three times in one week. thy blocked my ip because i was using this
i dont recommend anyone to buy a web hosting from them.
I've been a customer for about 3 years now and I got into an altercation with One.com over my bill, so started getting annoyed at them. It seemed like I was going to fight robots cutting and pasting generic answers and being as rigid as one would expect from a big multinantional help center.
I suggested a resolution to the problem that would favour both parties but oh no... no they wouldn't accept that. They actually seemed to be more than human than me, close on the tail of a buddhist monk. Not only did they agree to their half of my suggested agreement but didnt expect anything in return from me.
Don't get me wrong I'm happy to come to ammocable arrangements but these guys are actually nice people who really understand the equation of having longterm customers through being nice. Who would have thought?
I thought I was going to close my account today, but instead Im writing a positive review and staying with them!
I've been a customer of One.com for 2 years, with a small site which collects webmail from some other sites. Never had a problem which One.com didn't solve very quickly. Their communication is quick enough, and technical enough, and knowledgeable enough to keep me happy. I shall stay with them, and am now setting up another little website with them for my grandson's 11th birthday present.
I wouldn't use these guys. Very unhelpful when it comes to cancelling your account. I had been away and found that because I fell out of the 30 days notice to cancel I had to pay a full years subscription for 2 domains. They don't offer monthly subscriptions so they are more than happy to take your money even when you have been out of reach.
Will never use this company again and suggest others don't too.
I am not a technical person and I found it difficult to cancel my contract with one.com. Also most other companies I've dealt with, send out a reminder well before the 1 months notice is required. One.com only send a reminder after the months notice has lapsed. It's a great way of getting extra money out of their customers. But how many will go back to them???
Well, maybe they provide great service and all once you fully comply to their package sell deal but for me this just does not fly,
My case is the following:
I have a domain registered with another registrar, I wanted to move that domain to one.com,
My hosting was done with MobileMe, Since that service closed down I needed a new host platform quickly,
I signed up with one.com after which I got an e-mail telling me that, after confirmation, the transfer would be handled, Never happened, I tried to upload my files to their ftp server, connection timed out
I sent an e-mail to support: no reaction,
So I got on the online chat support, that got an immediate reaction (+ points for that) and then I heard that I needed to undertake extra actions in order to enable them to transfer mv domain, That would take about 5 cave + the time needed for mv old
registrar to supply the information, So, I asked whether I could already upload my site and get an url to where I can forward my domain in the mean time, No go! No hosting without them having hold of the domain name! So for me, one.com is out until they start caring for their clients a bit more,
I never ever seen such a bad hosting and costumer service in my life. Strongly I DO NOT recommend you to register in one.com
I have several sites hosted by one.com and I think they're GREAT!! I am an internet newbie, so building sites from scratch even using wordpress can be complicated. I found the support from their Live Chat to be amazing, considering the very low price I pay for hosting. They are always available to sort out my issues and explain what needs to be done in a way that even I can understand, and on the odd occasion where I've not been able to rectify an issue myself, they've been on hand to do it for me. The only downside is that to access the filemanager you have to use Internet Explorer because it can't be accessed through any other browser at present, however, I did speak to them about this and apparently by the summer you will be able to access the file manager from other browsers too. I highly recommend these hosts, especially if you're on a tight budget and new to web designing. BIG THUMBS UP!!!!
Good company, EXCEPT they are *very* aggressive with subscriptions. They require you to cancel BEFORE they send you the cancellations notice, and if you failure to cancel 35 days before the end they will bill you for the next year.
My personal experience was that the Live Chat was only half useful, and I've just had someone called Dinesh say they would send round the baliffs if i didn't.
I had to call Denmark from the UK to get this sorted out, and the woman was not interested at all in how i had just be treated,to the point of being offended when i wanted to complain.
Bad Customer service...i gave it a 1
One.com provides quite reliable uptime. I went over 4 years without any downtime during the day. Lately the site has gone down twice within a week, but I feel like it's a problem that will be fixed permanently quite soon, as they're very apologetic for it.
Their packages are very cheap, but lack space. They are not a good host if you plan to have lots of large files on your server, such as a file hosting site. They use the latest versions of everything, such as PhpMyAdmin.
You are only allowed one FTP account and one MySQL account, but both have 100% uptime and have never lost a file. You can only have one MySQL DataBase, too.
The unlimited transfer is very nice, but they will take notice if you transfer more than 1mb per page view on average. In other words, again, it's not recommended if you want to have a file hosting site.
They are PHP enabled including most popular libraries, but disallow cronjobs.
Overall, their pros:
- Great uptime, but currently not 100%.
- No fuss, you don't really have to worry about transfer limits or anything
- Very affordable, a .com domain for a year only runs you $50 USD.
- Live chat is extremely helpful and responsive.
- Always up to date
- Built-in site templates, blogging, mail, etc
- Very usable main site, short, easy to remember domain name
- No unlimited hard drive space package, and most packages have minimal space
- Some downtime recently
- One FTP account, one MySQL account, one MySQL DataBase.
- No cronjobs, and all languages except PHP are disallowed
- They seem to not have the authority to re-issue domains that expired years ago
Overall, I'd give them a 85% recommendation for business, and 95% recommendation for personal sites or portfolios.
I have never created a webpage before but this hosting company was by far the best option! I set up my webpage within a week and i am totally new to all this. when i needed support from the one.com team it was always there to help me and guide to building my site. the service here is absolute awesome!! I would recommend this to any one who is looking to host a website. it don't even cost much !
I have had my website hosted on one.com for a bout 3 years now. I was using one.com as a cheap way of making test websites and features for programming since it was free hosting (except for the set up charge of course). The support is great with it's live support feature, any qualm was easily settled. The service was barely down. And I was notified before hand if it was going to be. So after 3 years I decided to end the service seeing that the renewal date was coming up having been told by the email 2 weeks prior. What I didn't know, and what I really should have paid close attention to on the agreement, was that the cancelling period was 35 days prior to renewal. But not having read this I backed up all the content on my website then asked support to give the cancel link and so I thought that was the end of that. On the date of renewal I get a nasty reminder telling me that now I hadn't renewed I was obliged to pay the renewal fee and a reminder charge of £10 bringing the total up to £33.76. Obviously I was displeased with this as it would have been more courteous of them to tell me at least a month and a half in advance that my website was up for renewal. So now I'm stuck with a website I don't need for a whole year.
One.com is a pretty good host for cheap price, that is the reason I brought it my self, although I can't say it sucks as it's pretty good but there are not many features such as thre is only 1 Database that is already created for you.. although that can be a good feature if your not hosting a game or etc..
I just had a bad experience with One.com. I paid my money and then the hosting was actived. However, my domain(es) was not working. I contacted with them, and they insisted I needed to have a NIE number which is for people running business in Spain. It's wreid, wasn't it? I tried to contact with Godaddy and they told me, registration of .es domains is open to everyone on a first-come, first-served basis. The asistance said I didn't need a NIE number.
Also they sent me two bills in different day. OMG...It's a silly mistake. I contacted with them and they said if my credit would be charged twice, please contacted with them.
I was interested with one.com, becasue of it's included one year free hosting, but the control panel is quite poor.
Eventually, I got my refund and I might never use them again.
All in all, at first it was great. Cheap webhosting but good value for your money. However, this started to change last year and has become even worse later on.
First of all, speed... My domain was very hard to reach (meaning it took a long time to load any of my sites) for a period of several years. A friend of mine noticed the same thing for his site. This might have been resolved partially now with the change of servers, but I've seem to have stumbled onto an even greater problem... Support or the lack of support!
One.com advertises : "If disaster strikes and a system fails all our customers are guaranteed a quick restore from the security copy. A web space with One.com is a secure place to store data."
This does not seem the case however... My site runs on Joomla and while installing an extension something went wrong. No problem, just copy a self-made backup. I've been sorry to realise my most recent one was a month old and a lot of content had been added this last month. So I turned to one.com support for ... well... support.
First they replied a backup should be placed in a certain folder onto my website. Nice, but one week after that, I still couldn't find that folder. Again I asked to place the backup in that folder... They copied and pasted the same reply as last time. Nothing happened however.
A few days later, one of the two folders needed appeared onto my webspace... Nice...but three weeks and another support request later, I still haven't received the most important one...
Sorry to say, one.com is not worth your money anymore. It started off otherwise, but now...
cheap to start with however has some issues:
massive hike in prices after 1 year.
they tend not to let you know of important issues but rather refer you to some random hidden contract term, i canceled a contract would have been nice to know it was not actually canceled till next year..
Paper invoices never arrive on time and by the time you get them they would of charged you a "late fee".
Apparently web hosting can not be canceled, it has to be done 35 days before the end of the contract. They don't remind you of this.
One.com is the best Hosting Company I have ever used I have 5 web sites currently hosted with One.com everything is excellent except some missing features the control panel is a customized control panel which does have all the features of cPanel no option to create multiple databases there is only one default database where you can create multiple tables and no ASP support they had asp support on their old servers but new servers doesn't support ASP.
Over all it is the Best I am happy with One.com and I Love One.com
One.com Are Great because
1. Very good technical support
2. Expert technical support handle problem very seriously
3. 99.9% up time just face problem for six hr only one time from the day I am with one.com
4. I will recommend one.com just price are little bit high then other hosting services
I used one.com for my hosting basically because it was the first company I came across back when I didn't know a whole lot about this stuff. For a simple personal website or blog, this provider is fine, the control panel is quite user friendly (apart from one thing- keep reading), and setting up email is nice and easy too.
Where I came into problems was when I wanted to change the DNS settings. The DNS settings page in the control panel makes no sense, and the help page is very misleading. I also had problems installing wordpress; In phpmyadmin, one.com has locked the ability to create multiple databases. You can only run one database at a time, with multiple tables. This could get very confusing if you were to have lets say a wordpress install, magento install, and mediawiki, eg wiki.website.com, blog.website.com and shop.website.com.
All in all, one.com was fine for hosting my portfolio website while at university, but now I want a much more robust solution.
I am a web designer and hosting my website with one.com. I often advise my customers to move to one.com from their current provider for variety of reasons. Starting from the price. For 3Gb of server space they charge only £9.00 net for the first year and approx. £20 net per annum for every year after. Some of my customers were paying up to £90 per annum with their current host, and some hosts dont even provide php scripting on their servers in basic packages.
With one.com even in most basic package you get fully operational control panel with Statictics, Web Builder software (very useful for the customers who want to make small changes on the website, like changing text or pics with no technical knowledge of html or web designing).
Email accounts up to i believe 12 in the standard package.
Technical support is really good. Especially online chat support, there is always someone there to help, almost no waiting time for the operator. And this is a nice supprise compared to other providers, where either there is no one to pick up the phone, or chat online support button exist on the site only to make it look more professional, but there is never anyone to talk on the other site when you have a problem.
Level of technical knowledge of the stuff is also satisfying, they are dealing with the problem quickly and effectively, also you can have transcription of chat conversation sent to you by email, after you finished talking to them.
Suitable for most small , medium size businesses. I have no concerns to recommend this host to anyone.
