Pressidium Introduction

Pressidium is a US-based managed WordPress hosting solution. Established in 2014, Pressidium was founded by a team of former Telecom, IT, and online media professionals. Pressidium’s Software-as-a-Service hosting packages are designed for companies and professionals whose businesses require premium WordPress sites but lack the staff to fully manage them.

Services and Specializations

Pressidium offers professional-grade WordPress hosting for small businesses and enterprise clients. All of their plans include unlimited bandwidth, SSD storage, SSL and CDN support (these cost extra for some plans), enterprise-level architecture, and their proprietary control panel. The control panel includes access to one-click staging sites, automated backups, integrated PHPMyAdmin, cache management, a statistics dashboard, and more. Once set up, Pressidium guarantees that your site will deploy within 45 seconds.

Plans vary based on the number of WordPress sites your company needs to support, the number of monthly visitors your site receives, and the amount of storage space you require. Their business-class hosting plan also includes a dedicated account manager to work with your team and an available dedicated IP address.

Customers who only need to host one site and don’t get as much traffic as is available through their primary plans can also opt for their micro-plan, which includes less storage and visitor allowance at a reduced rate. Custom plans are also available for clients that require additional WordPress installations, have extremely high site traffic, or have other special needs.

Pressidium also offers Enterprise plans, which are custom-designed for business clients who need dedicated clusters, additional security, dedicated search solutions, or direct collaboration with their internal IT and DevOps teams.

Pressidium sites are hosted on cloud-based, replicated SSD storage with a nearly infinite number of storage nodes available to allow simple and quick expansion. Their systems are optimized to improve speed and performance, including:

  • A multi-tier 5-layer caching platform to provide the fastest access to content, php objects, database query results, etc.
  • CDN services integrated into your WordPress site to provide optimal performance and speed.
  • An optimized PHP platform to improve site performance.
  • An accelerated SSL process to provide a secure, yet accelerated browsing experience.

Support and Customer Service

All plans include 24-hour a day support via an online ticket system and email. On-call support and a dedicated account manager is also available with a custom plan.

Pressidium sites are automatically updated to the latest version of WordPress, and all updates are monitored and tested for compatibility and content integrity. In case of any content or stability problems, sites are automatically rolled back to their previous state.

As a dedicated WordPress host, the support staff specializes in WordPress-related issues and advice, including troubleshooting and solution recommendations, such as suggesting an appropriate plug-in. The support team is also available to assist with site migrations, which are provided for free with all plans.

Security and Backups

Pressidium provides continuous monitoring for security breaches and cyberattacks. All plans include a managed firewall, malware monitoring and removal, bot filtering, a secure and dedicated environment, and Secure file access via SFTP.

Pressidium performs automatic, daily backups of all sites, as well as on-demand backups. A backup is also created prior to any major update that may compromise a site’s integrity.

Uptime Guarantee

Pressidium offers a 99.95% uptime guarantee. If they fail to meet this, customers are eligible to receive 5% of their monthly fees for every hour of excessive downtime, excluding excused downtimes. In order to receive a refund, customers must make a request in writing through their support site or account manager.

Billing and Payment Policies

Pressidium accepts all major forms of payment. Payment is due in advance of service, unless otherwise arranged. Automatic payment is typically required, and may be withdrawn up to one week prior to the account due date.

In the event of non-payment, Pressidium reserves the right to suspend or terminate service. If this happens, site content will be preserved via the company’s standard backup procedures and may be retrievable for a period of time.

New plans include a 60-day money back guarantee. The guarantee includes standard services only, so a refund is not available for third-party services such as domain name registration and CDN services. The money-back guarantee is also only available with monthly payments, so customers who pay annually are not eligible.

There are plenty of managed hosting companies in the world, but Pressidium has found a unique niche in the market. If you’re looking specifically for a WordPress hosted site, but don’t have the resources or expertise to manage it yourself, they offer a team entirely focused on ensuring your WordPress site runs smoothly.

Price-wise, you can find less expensive cloud-hosting solutions; however, if you’re looking for premium level support and expertise, and a SaaS WordPress solution you don’t have to manage, this is an option worth considering.
