The company that would later become Ubiquity was founded as CINet services in 2002 by Clint Chapman and Corey Northcutt, in Bloomington, Illinois. In 2004 CINet was renamed Ubiquity Hosting and its sister company Ubiquity Server Solution was also formed. In 2007 both companies merged with other providers of internet relay, voice and gaming communications to create the Nobis Technology Group. This is now the parent holding company of Ubiquity Hosting, Ubiquity Server Solutions and DarkStar Communications, amongst others.

Ubiquity still has its corporate offices in Bloomington and employs more than 20 members of staff. Ubiquity offers a mix of shared hosting, VPS, dedicated servers and reseller hosting, all of which run on the Linux platform. Last October, however, they "accidentally deleted" our VPS, costing us thousands in down time and lost data. On top of that, in January they decided to charge us for the three previous months of unused service. No uptime percentage or amount of service can make up for a mistake like that.
