Is WereDigital the host for you?
Last reviewed Aug 4, 2016
We have hosted with WereDigital for many years hosting both multiple websites and email service.
They are beyond any doubt security conscious and extremely fast at responding to all requests for help.
They have always been there to assist when we needed them and have recommended them to several people.
We highly recommend them.
WereDigital is a Canadian company offering LAMP-based shared hosting plans and web design services. The company is based in the cities Regina and Saskatoon, in the Saskatchewan province in Canada. It provides hosting services to local and global customers.
WereDigital has a simple, straightforward hosting offer for small businesses and individuals. Only three LAMP-based shared hosting plans are on offer.
The entry-level shared hosting plan offers 250MB of storage and 1 GB monthly bandwidth with a single MySQL database, one email account and an ftp account. Only one domain is allowed on this basic hosting plan.
The intermediate hosting plan offers 25 GB of storage space and 1000 GB monthly traffic, with support for up to 25 domains, unlimited MySQL databases and an unlimited number of email and ftp accounts. This hosting plan also brings support for a range of ecommerce features.
The top hosting plan offers 50 GB storage space with 2000 GB monthly bandwidth, support for an unlimited number of domains, a dedicated IP address with a free, and a private SSL certificate. This hosting plan also includes support for an unlimited number of MySQL databases and an unlimited number of email and ftp accounts, just like the intermediate plan.
All shared hosting plans include practical features like the latest cPanel, Softaculous one-click installer, 24/7 support, instant backups and website setup, 99.9% uptime guarantee, and a 45-day money back guarantee.
WereDigital also offers several add-ons that can be purchased on top of these shared hosting plans. The add-ons include security update services, SSL services, SiteLock website verification and email anti-spam systems.
WereDigital does not offer shared Windows-based hosting plans, dedicated servers or VPS hosting plans. Only shared, LAMP-based plans are on offer.
In addition to hosting services, WereDigital offers the usual range of ancillary services like domain registration and transfer services. The company also offers in-house web design and development, geared towards WordPress and Joomla users.
Of special note is the company's managed hosting offer which provides users with a dedicated support team for website maintenance and a designated contact person.
WereDigital uses a single, industry leading datacenter based in Canada. This datacenter uses redundant tier-one connections and provides a 100% network uptime guarantee. However, further details about the datacenter or the server hardware used are not listed.
WereDigital hosting offers 24/7 technical support through an email based helpdesk and a toll-free phone line. Live chat support is not available.
WereDigital is going after Canadian customers, but US-based businesses and individuals could also be tempted to try out one of its shared hosting plans. Just by having all its infrastructure located in Canada, the company reaps the benefits of Canada's strict privacy laws, and stable political climate.
These privacy laws could provide peace of mind to potential customers who place an emphasis on security, government overreach, and snooping.
