I regret only one thing. i wish that i used bluehost earlier! After my horrible experience with HostGator i was reading some of the hosting reviews from whoishostingthis.
Well ,not all of them were good. but after a "careful" or maybe lucky decision i choose bluehost. Why ?
Many features for a great price! this was the main reason. With a little fear hoping that i don't have the same "luck" like with hostgator i send them a ticket to ask about a hosting plan for wordpress.
After Only 15 minutes i receive an answer in which they recommend me the hosting plan ,saying that they will help me with site moving/configuration to new server and also they answered to all my questions included in ticket (12 questions included!!!)
30 minutes and my site was already on their servers! Fast ,huh ? Yeah, i know.. :D
And the rest is history... So..
no downtime (until now)
great hosting plans with many features
What you want more ? Try bluehost and you will not regret!
Bluehost has been a great platform for me. I host many websites there and the pricing plans are tough to beat. I get my domains at godaddy and host my sites at bluehost. It has been a good working combination!
John Boone needs a big fat raise. He was so patient and diligent about getting my site back up and running. I was crying at the thought of having to spend another $3500 to my web designer to restore my site.
If I could buy him a gourmet meal and take him drinking, I would. Thank you John. You seriously are the bees knees.
TO the Bluehost Gods. He is the epitome of excellent customer service. He is valuable to your team. xo
1. CPanel is a nightmare to use. It constantly has session expiry issues.
Website hosted on blue host got malware attacks thrice in 4 months. Security measures seem to be outdated.
3. Having a Chat with the support team is also irritating, since establishing the chat connection is also not reliable.
You have to wait 5 -10 mins in front of your screen to get the connection.
4. If you are not able to respond within 2 mins, they (chat support) hang up.
Moved from WebHostingPad (who were not good) to BlueHost. Have since had zero noticeable downtime, excellent and prompt help whenever I ask and great value for my $. Cannot ask for more in a Host and I am on my 4th one now in 7 years! Well recommended.
I have been with BlueHost less than 2 weeks. In that time my site has been down almost everyday for up to 3 hours at a time. This morning they have been down 5 times with an average time of 20 minutes a time.
This is the worst hosting experience I have ever had and I've been publishing web sites since 1992. They say they have a 99% uptime. This is simply not true, be warned, stay away from BlueHost.
My name is Luka, I come from Croatia
I was using bluehost for one year, I bought that hosting for my own script..some portal
Billing step for amazing fast, in one day it was finished,
then I uploaded my script, everything worked, I had a lot of traffic in start, but my database wasn't optimized for lot of trafic and lot of accounts. then came the magic od bluehost,
I wasnt asking for any help, they contacted me on mail, that my script is badly programed, and they helped me to optimize my database, and sql queries. I didnt belived.
They offered their time to help me. After some time (4,6 months) i turned off the portal, becouse less of time..my account ended, but in the future, I will allways use their hosting. Support is fantastic, probles resolved in minutes, as I know there hasnt been any system failures.
I would recomend bluehost to everyone, their support in first place! form 1 to 5 to grade: straight 5 :=)
I've been with BlueHost for over 3 years now - I bought 36 month hosting (as it works out cheaper per month than 12 months or 24 months) - and had very minimal complaints. I currently host my own blog and the blogs for some friends. There were occasionally tricky things, such as figuring out that I needed to make sure my IP was whitelisted when I wanted to remote access the MySQL database - but once I made a note in my config to remember that, it hasn't been a problem.
There were some points when it seemed that the page loading times were a bit slow, but I have not noticed that recently. The main reason for my high review is that when I received the renewal notice (I appreciate the 3-month, 2-month and 1-month warnings - I don't act on them immediately) I was quite shocked that the renewal price (about $11.99/mo) was more than double my initial price (about $4.99/mo). I did some research and found out that this was because it had been a promotion for new customers, etc.
I was all set for going with another host, but before I bit the bullet, I decided to contact BlueHost customer service. To make a long story short, after I explained the situation, the customer service agent spoke to a manager and then came back to say they would offer me a renewal price that actually was a few pence cheaper than my initial price 3 years ago - the moral of the story being, you don't ask, you don't get! I was happy to sign on for another 36 months at that price, having had no major complaints about the service, and preferring to avoid the hassle of switching to another host (for the medium package, no one else beat the price anyway).
I recently set up a couple of new simple blogs and it was very quick to do and use. I'm not sure if someone requiring business hosting will find all their needs met by BlueHost, but in my case as someone hosting a few personal sites for myself and friends, I have no complaints - and I appreciate BlueHost's valuing me as a customer by offering me a good deal.
I have been using BlueHost for 2 years now. While it is true, I was lured in by an attractive low-rate offer, when the price rises, it doesn't go above what other hosts offer, so it's still a discount. The first thing that stands out regarding BlueHost is that I receive by far the best customer support, at least by chat, that I can think of in any form of business.
They are always available within 20 minutes, which is fine because the chat box pings when they are ready, so I'm never just waiting on hold, I am free to do something else while waiting. When they respond, they are knowledgeable and helpful and I always get my questions answered, whether it is a developer-type technical question or simply about billing. The second best thing is the interface.
It is clean and the blue branding is beautiful. It is easy to use and offers me tons of control. The only negative, why I dropped stars for features, is that on a shared system, there is no way to run a Java application on my server.
Otherwise, between using cPanel, Sequel, and Cyberduck, it is a breeze connecting to the server and moving files around. Some things are even too easy in that I feel it should be harder to do certain tasks, not that it is in any way a problem. I've never had any problems with uptime nor any issues with the technology, besides the inability to add Java apps. Overall, even though I got involved with them based on the low introductory rate and WordPress integration was touted on their site, I was a little skeptical that they didn't have the same recognizability as GoDaddy, but I can honestly say, I am pleasantly surprised.
Great Support, great features expect for performance options like SSD and caching, what kills them is performance is pretty terrible, sometimes ok, often 5-8 second page load times, my pages are 2mb with all images so some delay ok but Bluehost must be one of the worst performing holsters out there based on my research, moved to SiteGround just now, sadly had paid $4 a month for 2 years more but with no upgrade options under $20 a month, I am glad to let go of my investment in bluehost and part ways forever!
I have used a plethora of hosting providers over the years and BlueHost by FAR has the Worst customer support of any major hosting provider. Consistently poor support service and excessive hold times. I was on hold for an hour for tech support only to be transferred and placed on hold another hour.
Once transferred I was told I needed the support from the previous chat. Transferred again, on hold another hour before finally calling support. Once I phoned in, again was placed on hold for 30 minutes, transferred 3 times and then hung up on.
Called back, same process. In total it took 4 hours for a very simple primary domain rename.
BlueHost has the worst support ever. I've used many hosting providers and I've never seen such a horrible support. I had to contact support three times so they could successfully disable a hosting feature they had that was crashing my website, and I had to find what was causing the issue all by myself - they kept saying it was not host related - and in the end it was.
The only good thing about BlueHost is that the website is fast and online most of the time, and I have heavy traffic. So, if you're thinking BlueHost, just hope you will never have any issues, because if you do... it will be a nightmare!
I have been hosting with bluehost for past 6 years and I had no problems with them at all, their custom service is superb. Though I feel that their waiting time is something which should be reduced for chat duration. In terms of uptime, I have rarely seen my website go down and that is one of the best part of hosting with bluehost.
I never faced any difficulties with backup of data, I feel bluehost is really good because once i made some changes which completely ruined my website but support gave the backup and I was able to restore my website in minutes. That became one of the reasons why i never switched from bluehost. The pricing is appropriate, I use a tri-annual plan for my hosting and it works out pretty well which gives me decent saving on my pricing, i only go for long terms plans because I know that I am at the right place. It is always satisfying to be hosting my website at bluehost, I will say go without any hesitation.
About 3 years ago I decided that I wanted to make a personal website, and knew absolutely nothing about domains, web design, and hosting. I went to Bluehost, scanned the cheap pricing, registered my Free domain that Bluehost provides, signed up for a fairly cheap price, and started monkeying around with it.
1. Easy to Use
Within 2 hours I had added my domain, installed Wordpress (an easy to use website builder), and created an exceptionally good looking & fully functional site.
You have immediate access to all your files in Files Manager, so there's no need to use FTP. The interface is also completely arrangeable to your liking.
2. Customer Support
BlueHost support is top notch.
They have over 60 user friendly video tutorials, a live forum, email contact, and 24/7 phone support. If you're serious about your business, website, blog, etc. then it's vital to have this kind of immediate access to help.
Their phone support is incredible. NO, you don't get some guy who can barely speak English. The staff there is friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and real people who aren't just stuck to some script.
My blog one night at 2:00 PM crashed due to a PHP error in my code. I called them up without having to wait, the guy remotely went into my files and fixed everything. I've also accidentally deleted some important files...no problem I just sent an email and within minutes they'd restored my entire site from their backup system which runs nearly every hour.
Unlimited Domain Hosting - I have a little over 100 domains hosted with Bluehost, and there hasn't been a single problem. Host as many as you'd like. Also what's nice is that Bluehost keeps track of when you're domains are going to expire, and will warn you ahead of time to renew.
I took time working with them and I found it m Very Satisfactory . The server runs répido and stable, the activation it has also been , and correct support by chat and email as well. Currently Do I have 5 Pages in basic plan and work perfectly .
Subdomains therefore Como redirections and Email will Perfection. Previously Work with 1 & 1 But given its price rise esta In Alternative and I look like or happier than the above . Advisable . A greeting .
Bluehost is one of the most reliable hosts out there when it comes to features. It's attractive features include a free domain name, cheap pricing, incredibly high uptime (~99.5%), and one-click install for WordPress. For most purposes, a website built on WordPress and hosted on BlueHost is all you need.
Sites load faster in comparison to when you host them on HostGator. But, if your website gets tons of traffic, it is not the hosting service for you.
Bluehost hosting service is going downhill. I've had my website hosted by this company and it's been one disappointment after another. When I first came to them, the service used to be better.
However, I can't left unnoticed the fact that they told me I would be able to use a wildcard SSL certificate on their shared server. Indeed I was; however, they soon started blocking an IP address for the translation company that provides translation service for my website. Bottom line: I had to call them almost every 3-4 days to have them remote this IP address from the blacklist.
Eventually, someone suggested getting CloudFlare and whitelisting the IP address on their server. Sure enough, this solved the problem. However, I started getting 503 error messages occasionally; the new suggestion was to get Cloud Business Pro.
I was told I would be served by three different locations instead of one. Most of the 503 errors were gone; now I started getting 404 errors which turned out to become a Huge nonsense to the point that my uptime a few days ago was down to 50%.Not kidding. But it got worse.
Yesterday, monitor. Us sent me a notification stating that they suspended the monitoring service due to "continual failure for a duration of 12 hours". Wow!
How can a business operate under such circumstances? I filed a trouble ticket and I've been for 10 days and no response from their technical gurus! Stay away from Bluehost.
It seems like their servers are overcrowded and they can no longer handle the website traffic for the companies they "serve". For me, it's just a matter of days and I'm out of there.
I was managing a website for a client who was using Bluehost as their web hosting company. When I was checking his WordPress websites, I noticed both of sites were pulling a 500 Internal Server Error. That error is the most vague WordPress error.
I called up Bluehost, and when I told them about the error, they knew exactly what it was and took care of it. They made sure the permalink structure was working on both websites before hanging up. Their support staff is knowledgeable and personable.
I have been a customer for years with Bluehost for years. As of the last year or so no longer can I just reach tech support easily with a simple call. Now frequently my sites are down because of their server.
Getting tech support is like torture. You have to wait forever to talk to someone. Seems like they're outsourcing as well, though I'm not sure.
It's just really bad. They have totally changed everything since they got too big for their britches, as the saying goes, and started all that advertising. Anyway, there's no excuse for their server to be down so much. I'm so disappointed.
Support: Reps are hit and miss, most have an "attitude" when I contact them. They will tell you something definitively, even though they have no clue what they're talking about. For example, when I contacted BH to alert them that there is suspicious activity on my account and they tell me that there isn't, I have to wonder (a) how stupid do they think I am and (b) how many people who know nothing of malicious files are fooled by a quick talking rep..?
I've had two reps close our 'chat' session without assisting me, simply because I told the rep that I was losing confidence in his abilities! Features: What makes BH features any better than any other webhost that offers CPanel? Nothing...
Uptime: Every time (about six times) I get files reinfected after BH runs their Site Doctor, my site goes down for several days. On a more recent occasion, I had close to 10 days of downtime... Let me say that again... 10 Days of downtime!
This could be expected from some discount hosting company, but not for the type of money I pay. Value: There is absolutely no value in a webhost that allows your files to be infected, charges you to fix it, allows your files to be reinfected, charges you to fix it, and Does not fix the problem. They simply stand there with their hand out, charge you for a service, and don't deliver on removing malicious files from your account.
They simply point the finger at you... As if I purposefully infected my own account! Terrible customer service.
I'm tempted to copy and paste my 'chat logs' and maybe some email responses that they've sent me. It would likely serve as the #1 deterrent of Bluehost on the web! My advice, don't choose Bluehost. Go with one of dozens of other companies that charge roughly the same price, but treat their customers like "they are always right!"
I'm hosting my game for Facebook canvas (Fantastic - Ivy & Evy) at bluehost. I was advised by sales to get the Cloud Pro package in combination with the Cloudflare Platinum package. Everything that I've asked for was possible (stability and a wildcard SSL cert.).
It sounded great! However after I became a customer nothing was possible and support is near to zero. I couldn't get the products (SSL cert, Railgun) as was advertised, when I pointed out the section on the website that said the package included an SSL cert and backed my claim with the chat sessions that I'd saved on my machine, they said I needed to contact the sales person I've had the chat session with.
You guess, the guy was never available and I still didn't get what was promised. Also, the uptime is terrible. Server is down for hours and when I ask about it the answer is maintenance.
Without notification and for many hours. Bluehost has some good technicians though. My problem with Railgun was fixed very fast, the problem is that the people on the helpdesk frontline don't know anything just sell no for an answer without consulting a technician.
BlueHost seem pretty good. I have a WordPress website hosted with them and I haven’t had any issues. I especially like the 1-click installation with Mojo Marketplace. I would highly recommend them if you just want to host a basic WordPress website.
My Experience with blue host was worst... I can't change primary domain their support said as I used a wrong domain while registering. They told me to purchase a new hosting plan to host a new domain...
after I purchased a new hosting they my site up time was not good at all ... I contacted them they said it is because your domain is hosted on godaddy so transfer domain and purchase premium DNS Bluehost sucks :(
I've been BlueHost customer since 2011 and I always recommended my all clients and friends to this wonderful hosting. I have never come across any problem so far except one time when they locked out one of my hosting account. But they were very prompt in informing me and gave me reasons and then supported me till the issue is resolved and got my sites live within next few hours. I love their support.
After being a 5 year customer Bluehost deleted all 8 of my live sites, 3 in development because of a late payment. I then requested a full refund and all 3 operators agreed to a full refund. This is not what happened. After several outages this year and no compensation to any of my clients I have ended a 3 year run with them.
It has been nearly 2 Months after shifting My Web hosting from ZNetLive to Blue host and I have seen the result in my performance of my website. They Server are extremely Well Maintained and So Fast that my WordPress Website take seconds to load than my old host. I am on they Shared Hosting Plan and I faced a little-bit issue with they cpanel to understand as they have completely change the look of Cpanel.
The Support was bit disappointed as it takes time to Get Answers from them on phone and chat both. Well As per Performance I would Recommend Bluehost to any person who want to setup an basic hosting. And Yes Bluehost Rock.
I think this is the better choice than others because they win confidence of their customers. Some days ago me and my brother decided to take hosting services of BlueHost for our blogs. Today i think that was a superb decision i have ever made.
BlueHost's dealing with us is unique. they look after of every website which they host. their trained staff, 24/7 services, money back gurantee and one click install is really great.
i want to salute this hosting company. I have not enough knowledge of website building but my favorite BlueHost makes it simple and interesting for me. There prices are low from market with 100 percent satisfaction.
they are not new in market, they have 2 million customers world wide. BlueHost is a back-bone for my blog. I think it is fantastic for all type of websites but it is superb for my blog. last but not least it is a complete hosting solution for online world.
They advertise CPanel hosting. But after you create your account you find out that they build this into their system and make you pay extra for functions that are actually part of CPanel. They should advertise that as 'Partial Cpanel'.
Bluehost offers just about everything one could ask for. Their customer service, however, is not sufficient for me to remain a happy customer. When online chat times are measured in hours, that is not OK.
Hosting Service: 3.5/5 stars
I have 2 shared hosting plans with BlueHost for coming up on a year now. After experiencing what there is to offer on the shared plan, I believe for the price you pay (which is usually between $3.95 -$.5.95/month depending on what price you see it at) is an above average level of service that you get out of their hosting. You get an unlimited amount of bandwidth, databases, space (even though it does have a limit but to hit that you must be doing some heavy file storage, or a boatload of websites.) If you're going to setup a Wordpress site the one click install for it is handy along with the many other quick installs they offer, but it's nothing that any other host doesn't have.
The downtime on the servers can be weird at times. One thing that I still ponder to this day is how a hosting companies website goes down as well, and for periods of time that I contest to be unacceptable, and can contribute to a loss to any business running on their servers about 1-2 times per year. I believe the trouble with the downtime that they have is that they share their hosting servers with their sister hosting companies such as HostGator, and a few others that the parent company had brought into their happy hosting family (even if they deny the fact of being associated together, but it's no coincidence that Hostgator is down the same time as BlueHost each time it does go down).
Other than that, the hosting for BlueHost is again, above average. Customer Service: 5/5 stars
One thing that I must say though is that their customer service has always been there to answer questions that I have had at all times of the day, and night. They are very helpful, friendly people who will do everything they can to help you figure out an issue that you may have, even if it doesn't fall under the category of it being their problem.
One thing though, make sure that you have an adequate amount of time to wait late nights U.S times, because it seems that they are only staffing a few people if not one person on at those times, so expect anywhere from right away to 25 minute waiting periods. Just don't forget that you have that extra window open, because nothing is more frustrating than forgetting you had it open and the person leaves because you're not responding. Price: 3/5 stars
The pricing for their product aren't the best deals if you attempt to go past the shared hosting subscription.
Buying a domain name from here would be silly for anyone to do considering you can always go to GoDaddy.com and use some coupon code to get one for 0.99 - 2.99 all day long. The rest of the products are priced as they are in many other places. I believe they can do better on pricing so they can compete more.
First of all Bluehost is slow, very slow, and my sites have minimal traffic. Mandatory php updates messed up my sites, so I had to fix them. Calling bluehost is bad idea as you will be spending long time before the maybe pick up, so I usually just go for live chat.
Today I received an email telling me about malware and all my sites are disabled. Disappointment is the word. Will be switching to another hosting company.
Their support is a team of professionals, hey always have my websites up and running 24/7, also super quick at responding to our emails. The servers always are up. Bluehost is awesome.
Worst experience ever with Customer Service. After chating via 'support' repeatedly because e-mail server is down (this happens almost twice a week) i end up being dumped by their operator ! He requested me to give outgoing and ingoing email server which i did.
Twice, i repeat, Twice he did not read among my lines and reasked me the same information. First time i kindly told him to read above, but the second time I Demanded him to pay attention... on which he answers saying that I , a client, am not Professional!!
Can you believe it? He operator cannot pay attention and read my information and calls me a client, Unprofessional. After that he closes the chat support !
And say goodbye. Unbelievable & Shameful. I have sent the whole transcript to the feedback of Bluehost and have so far not received any information!
The e-mail server is still down, and as a business conversing daily with cients !! This reprents a big problem. I will switch to German Server.
Forget Bluehost... To many problems and customer service is unprofessional!!! The irony...
Globally, I was very satisfied with Bluehost. Support: So far, I have not seen such a great customer support. People on lie support were very helpful even though I'm a beginner, and they gave me basic advice on what I should accomplish even when I decided to change host (reasons later).
Uptime and speed: I did not notice any issue with this aspect of hosting. My website isn't a behemoth, though, so I can't testify so much on that part. Value: As a renewing customer, I was a bit disappointed by the price they offered me for a 3 years hosting.
I was seeing better offers elsewhere (and even for Bluehost NEW customers) so I decided to leave. The customer support did try to find a way to keep me, but it was not enough. Globally, if you're ok with the price, go all in. They're great!
BlueHost has excellent customer service. I signed up and about a week later I saw they were running a special on the hosting price. I contacted them and they gave me the option to get the promotional price, no problem!!! Just know what you are asking, be specific, ask for supervisor if the agent working with you is unable to assist you.
Bluehost has gone down twice in the last 100 days for more than 12 hours each time. No email and no website. Their phones have gone down too, so the only option was to communicate through Twitter.
They gave standard answers to the hundreds of people wondering what was wrong. They won't give an estimated repair time or disclose the nature of the problem. After service was restored there was no further communication.
No apology, no offer of a credit for downtime, no statement of what they are doing to prevent the problem in the future, no nothing. We pay for a dedicated server, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. We are investigating the options and will move our hosting elsewhere.
Appalling service, terrible uptime and best avoided if you value your business. My site has been down 7 times this year - the latest being for over 24 hours.
I have been with BlueHost for 3 years but they are having issues. I was caught in the 2 days of intermittent downtime for 4 sites. My sites were offline for updates to the servers longer than expected (why is this necessary when they could have mirrored to online servers?).
When the servers were back up they were insanely slow while they "fixed a problem". Simply pinging the servers take about twice as long as my other previous hosts
Their support simply does not know the technical side and give only what the people actually running the servers give them. having the tech people report to a superior who relays the information live to the support staff would help this a lot.
Even their twitter account provided more info than they could. If you are running a blog or low traffic site they are not bad because your viewers are more likely to wait when the site is slow. I can't recommend them if you do any e-commerce because the site can come off as not reliable turning customers away.
Would I recommend it to friends? Depends on their needs but most likely not any more.
I am extremely delighted by using BlueHost on my blog. Six months back it was a new and completely unknown name for me and I used to wonder why so many of the webmasters prefer using BlueHost for the websites/blogs rather going for an alternative. My friends recommended me to BlueHost and I am using it since the last six months.
I did not face even a single problem and my website has 100% uptime till date! The hosting service is also very good. The website opens in a moment!
I had zero knowledge on handling a website but their services are very simple hence I did not face any problem while managing my website. Also, their support is very user-friendly and is ready to solve customer's queries within 24 hours. This host is suitable for everyone - from the new webmasters to the most experienced ones!
I can't even believe that my site has grown and is one of the trusted websites in my niche! Thanks to BlueHost, for giving me an esteemed online presence and making me feel proud. I would like to recommend this service to all my dear friends!
No Doubt About BlueHost Rocks! Bluehost offers a shared web hosting solution to all customers. BlueHost allows the cost of server maintenance to be shared between users, allowing Bluehost to offer a professional quality web hosting solution to each user for a matter of a few dollars each month. Each client domain is situated on its own section of a server that is shared with other client domains
Free domains are one of the most beneficial features offered by Bluehost.
You can get one free domain from Bluehost, no matter whether you want to register a new domain or transfer an existing domain. Many web hosts offer free domain name, only if you register a new one with them. Bluehost is the only web hosting company that allows you to get a free domain name even while transferring your primary domain name to them.
You can avail of a domain name for free for the first year and you need to renew afterwards. Bluehost supports WordPress. One can set up a site or blog easily and quickly with Bluehost’s one click Simple Scripts install. Bluehost also allows to install several WordPress sites on the same web hosting account effortlessly.
I enjoy BlueHost over the majority of hosts I currently used. I recently switched to BlueHost when I had enough of GoDaddy and their "support"
I went with BlueHost and it basically was an instant setup. I just had to configure my site to WordPress in the cpanel.
They do handle my support queries easily, as long as it's in the morning or at night. If it's in the afternoon, I'd have to wait 15-20 minutes. The staff for the most part is friendly, easy to work with, and setup my nameservers easily. I'd recommend this to my friend because their prices are Extremely cheap and easily affordable for a small business.
BlueHost was fantastic and I don't regret going with them, they have a good support team that has fixed all my inquiries. I don't know any code at all but that doesn't matter, using their one click installs you do not need technical expertise. I have recommended this site to my friends
I can only relate my own story but searches online suggest that my experience is quite common with this company. Firstly I wasted over a year on their shared hosting that constantly throttled my sites. I went down from 300 to 500 visitors a day to maybe 150 per day.
Google stopped sending me traffic as some pages would take up to 19 secs to load. Then I decided to move over to VPS and this was the final straw. After less than 24 hours my site went down and although I started up tickets and received automated responses, I never had a human get in touch after repeated emails, Online chat was unavailable after moving to VPS and my only option was to phone them.
Being from the UK, I decided to cut my losses and give up on hosting. Before my sites went down, I'd luckily decided to mirror my site on Blogger. When my VPS went down I lost all my images, as they were being hot-linked from Bluehost, but I'm happy to go through my entire site as long as I don't have to suffer by the likes of Bluehost.
My advice is stay clear of this company. In my experience, they're a complete waste of time, as their customer care was none existent for me. Since moving to Blogger my site has risen in rank from just under 2 million to 700 near thousand.
My page speeds, even on image intense posts, are under 5 secs. My site is basically where it should have been for the last year or so but which was kept under by poor hosting.
I hosting about 10 sites in my bluehost account for an year now and i could say that it has the best shared hosting platform ever built . I have not faced a downtime with the sites. But the response time of the server is little slow compared to HostGator.
After i bought a dedicated Ip address the response time to service improved a little. I am overall satisfied with their hosting service and its the best value for our money. I Highly recommend them.
Blue host sucks and here is why:
We wanted to upgrade our account to the pro account and they messed up the backend of switching over from one server to the next. When we tried to call "tech" support, no one could help us and led us to various dead ends- one being to backup all of our websites which took ten hours and did nothing. We lost thousands of dollars in our worth of time by trying to fix their mistake.
We finally received help from a tech who said that normally, the hosting company would not support switching over files from the backend which is ridiculous since everything that was supposed to be switched over from one server to the other was not switched over by them! Our websites were down for two days at this point and while this sixth tech helped us, he had to cap his time because bluehost would not allow him to help us any further - I am completely outraged and disappointed that "upgrading" was like "downgrading" because we are paying more for hosting in which they broke links, plugins, switched around other various files that did not exist before, and did not wish to fix their mistake. The thing that really got to me was when I was giving the supervisor feedback, all he said was that the support could not help us any more because our website developer should have known how to fix this.
Well, 1. how would the website developer know what the server was in the beginning that we used versus the one that they changed it to? 2. Why couldn't the first five of your tech guys identify this issue if this is such a routine change?
He had no answer to the first question and to the second question he just said that the last tech we talked to had to delve "deeper" and that is why he could not stay helping us - how does that answer my second question? He was no help at all and just basically said well now that you know how we messed up Your Site, you can fix it now. I definitely do not suggest going to the hosting company because the customer service is horrible, and don't upgrade if you want the same quality of service that you get before you upgrade.
I've signed up with dozens of webhosts through the years and Never had this much trouble setting up a new account - and None of them have asked for a copy of my driver's license and credit card!! If you're trying to setup a site fast, Don't use BlueHost!
2 days of trying to setup the account - finally I called them on the 3rd day and was told I had to send them a copy of my license and credit card. I asked them to please wait while I send it, and they said No one was available to review it until tomorrow! This, combined with people just didn't seem to care about me as a new/potential customer means - Awful customer service!
The only thing I would add is that when one technician helps a customer, that he/she take notes for when they're gone and someone else takes that first technician's shift. Perhaps they do this. Because someone (like me) may call just an hour later needing help and they second shift needs to know what the first shift did.
Otherwise, I have been very happy with the level of support and training at Blue Host. I became an affiliate because I believe strongly that customers need help 24/7 availability plus phone help plus technicians that are based right here in the USA. That is why I went with Blue Host in the first place.
Those three things were vitally important to me as a customer. Brenda Kula
I have a site that gets less than 50 visitors a day and my site is being Throttled for CPU usages! If running Wordpress Look somewhere else! There are obviously overselling their servers.
Bluehost is fantastic, I've had hosting with them for almost 3 years, I've had the occasional downtime, for server issues. But it's a shared environment no one can really guarantee 100% uptime. They definitely have the best technical support I've ever dealt with. I've had websites with over 10 other providers and I will choose bluehost again and again, over and over.
Bluehost is a great host, I've been with them for a couple of years. There offers are great, aswell as their friendly support. I've told all my friends about them, and family.
It is a very stable host for practically anything, their prices fit all boxes and suite all needs. I shall continue using bluehost forever.
There is nothing that I did not find in Bluehost hosting. They give you everything. Unlike other webhosts, the web site configuration is very easy.
The hosting is loaded with options. The best thing is unlimited hosting space and unlimited domain names. Support is always very helpful and quick to answer.
They answer queries very professionally whether over the phone or online chat. I never had any big problems with them. The only problem I had was mySQL connect error, which they responded to very quickly and tackled in 5 minutes.
being a pleased customer, I have mentioned and recommended Bluehost in many of forums I visit. The one thing I noticed is that when you sign up for first year they charge you $6.95 a year. But you should know that this is discounted price only for one year.
From second year onwards, the cost would be a little higher. But then you wont have to pay for the domain registration ever in life! The cost of Bluehost webhosting is a little higher compared to other ones but it is something you can depend upon.
I have been with Bluehost for nearly 8 months. Generally speaking, this hosting is considered to be an awesome hosting. High as its price is, the performance is exciting.
Here I will make a comprehensive evaluation of Bluehost. Fame
It is generally acknowledged that bluehost is a Superb Hosting provider, which is recommended by wordpress.org. Established in 1996, its experience and reputation are much superior to other hosting providers, which is a crucial reason for me to choose Bluehost.
Live chat, ticket and telephone consist of 24/7 customer service. The problem can be solved rapidly by means of live chat. And you will get a reply in ten minutes if submit a ticket.
Hardly am I satisfied with the network uptime of Bluehost, which scarcely reach 99.9% that they guarantee. It is always down couples of times every month. According to the statistics from jiankongbao.com, there is only one month in which the network uptime percentage is more than 99.9%(January, 2011, 99.97%, down only 1 minute).
Accordingly, fortune, to a large extent, is a significantly indispensable factor when you purchase a web hosting. Value
Numerous hosting provider maintain a policy that paying a little money for first purchase, but considerably higher price when you renew it. Bluehost is not a exception.
From promotion link, it only costs $59.4 every year($4.95 per month). Nevertheless, when you want to renew it, you will find that it cost $107.4 per year($8.95 per month) for one-year-duration. But it is worthy to buy it.
SimpleScripts, one-click script installs, is a not only excellent but also convenient tool to install trementous quantities of scripts. Free shared SSL can be used by small commercial websites. Conclusion
As far as I am concerned, Bluehost is the best web hosting I have used, which performed exceedingly well.
We bought a shared hosting for 3 years, the biggest mistake of my life. Value per money is the worst thing. Support was loading hours everytime I wanted to fix something.
Leaving from this hosting after 1 year, I know there is no refund policy for the rest of the 2 years it's lost money, but I hope people who read this feedback won't choose this company. Search before you choose.
I spent 139 (!) minutes on the phone yesterday trying to get them to map a domain to a subdirectory in our public_html directory. Something trivial that you can do yourself with other hosts like Dreamhost, mediatemple, pair, and so on. In the first few minutes, they messed up the existing path and then spent more than 2 hours telling me this is not possible and ended up leaving me having to migrate my site to the root on the server (where a dated site was located I had been trying to preserve).
I have worked with dozens (100's?) of hosts since I started web dev in 1996. This was THE worst I have experienced. Luckily I only have 3 clients with these ppl. Unreal.
I have been with Bluehost for 6 months now. I left Fatcow (ugh) because of very Very poor support that liked to blame it all on you for any failures. in the end my website was always going down.
Blamed me but it always turned out to be them..every time. I am using the Cloud service with Bluehost. Uptime has been 99.9%.
the chat support is sourced overseas. the phone support is USA based. I got alot more accomplished by phone.
The chat support has no clue whats going on. The wait time has been 10-20 minutes and on one occasion 30 minutes. thats FAR too long for me so thats why I am not happy with support.
The price is very reasonable and I always look to what the renewable coast will be...not what first year entry is. ignore that. thats just the cherry on top.
Anyway, I am not a fan of cpanel because i learned my way around using the vdeck. Also alot of pages in their site to jump around to. To me its unorganized but..i get where i need to be by following the same path each time.
i use Weebly pro and Bluehost is the Only webhost that has NOT upgraded their weebly. Very disappointed in this and have complained repeatedly. Zero replies from their feedback emails.
i have sent in atleast 6 emails requesting them to upgrade this. i have gone ignored which pisses me off. the cpanel sometimes has issues loading weebly as well..but provides a link for it if it isnt.
ugh..another link to click on. Andddd to explain why it is important to me for them to upgrade weebly is..the old version of weebly publishes the Entire site. The newer weebly software Only publishes what changes you made..making it fast when publishing.
I have a large website and it takes hours to publish then sometimes it takes 2-3 times before it shows to have gone through. If they would upgrade weebly, i would be tickled pink. But right now I am on the fence about leaving Bluehost because of this one issue.
If you dont use weebly then their wont be an issue i am sure. I am afraid to go elsewhere too because of so many up and down reviews of other webhosts. I have tried SiteGround and Host Gator.
They wouldnt let me rebuild my site without moving it over to them immediately...meaning my down time would be 2-4 weeks. thats how long it would take me to rebuild it. Its about 500 pages.
so I left them and Bluehost allowed me to do this so I had Zero downtime. So its tricky to find the right webhost that will offer what you are looking for. Everyone is looking for something different and so reviews are not really something to go by.
I mean the star ratings. you need to Read the reviews and see what others are complaining about. It is obvious some of these people have no clue what they want or need and just complain.
So that makes the star rating go up or down. sad to say really. I think all you can do is make an effort to call and speak to someone on the phone to get fast answers and solutions.
Waiting for an email/ticket is not a high priority way to contact them. Call!!!!!! Is there a place to leave reviews about websites?
Cause I sure see some really horrible websites that people actually think are acceptable. Scream. Huge text scrolled from side to side..no images.
Pop ups as soon as you log onto their site. Try reading an article with constant pop ups. I leave those and never go back.
same for the large texts. also the click bait sites. OMG what a nightmare.
It should be neat, organized and in a font that everyone can read easily. these girly cursive funky lettering wont work. you want to run people off?
thats how you do it. all I mentioned above.
I was just informed by Bluehost that they changed my website IP address unilaterally and without adequate warning. I did not see the email before people started telling me over email and linked in that it was down. I am not up way past my bed time trying to get this resolved.
I've been on the phone to them for 15 minutes on hold so far to get tech support. No help. The site no longer comes up even if I put the IP address they gave me in.
I have no support from them and it's too late for me to fix it myself tonight AND I have a full 16 hour day tomorrow so there is no way I can fix it then either. I'll be down well into 48 hours before I can do anything about their unilateral change. I will be moving as Fast as I can to another host, Any host! This is completely beyond reprehensible.
Good for new sites
Bluehost has been around for a long time and I have been a happy customer for a few years. Pros:
Adwords credit (not sure if anyone needs it, though)
3. Good for a bunch of small websites. If you have 15 sites that receive barely any traffic (under 100 visits a day)
A bit slow if the site grows bigger
2. Renewal pricing is not the same as promotional pricing on signup.
Well Bluehost is really good, especially for bloggers. I'm using them for my small sites. However I'm using their shared hosting plans for those sites, but I can say proudly that they are great value for money and I'm hell happy with them.
The only problem I'd faced with them is the down time in a month. But I know that this is very normal also these down times never last for even 5 minutes, so they are very good for small sites and new bloggers. :)
I have been w Bluehost for about a year, great in the beginning, but now a year later cannot reach anyone to discuss issues. Every time I call is a 25 + minutes wait (maybe more because I hang up). Stay away from this company. BTW, I have also emailed support w no response.
Bluehost tech support is awful. I start and Chat and am told that I will be helped in 30 minutes. After 30 minutes it still says 30 minutes.
I request an email reply and I get nothing. It can take from 5 minutes to 2 hours to update one sentence on my site. They tell me that my plan does not have enough speed to run my sites and I upgrade and Nothing gets better.
I was looking for a host and my friend told be about bluehost first I thought it was an ord. hosting company but when I tried it I liked it. Whenever I m having any issue related to hosting BlueHost Staff is there to help me.
There uptime is really good I never saw my website down after choosing them. Their features are great aswell. I simply loved that hosting! You guys should try it too!
I was with Bluehost more then 4 years. Last year they raised prices. Several weeks ago they deactivated my account.
I asked "why" in ticket system and they replied "site was victimized by comment spamming" (Zbm-56681-700)
It was rubbish, cause all comments was premoderated. I wrote them, but they even do not reply to this ticket more than 10 days. With live chat eventually support replied, that my mysql tables too big and I need VPS or server.
Its funny cause some of that databases don't change in last 3 years. So it was good hosting, but now it sucks.
Bluehost in China is very popular, the main reason is the blue host access speed is very quick, and bluehost customer service is in place, each ticket will get a reply within 24 hours. Bluehost is very stable. Few failure. I think bluehost is a trusted host service provider
Even as I am typing this message BlueHost is down again! I can't even click on the link to their main site! My website is down and I have no access to email.
This has happened 3 times during the past year. That's pretty bad if their own site is down. Once, you could not even call into their office for 2 days as their Cisco Phone System was down as well!
It's infuriating. Avoid them like the plague!
Choosing a good host for your website can be difficult, especially if you're on a budget. However, I decided to choose BlueHost and it turned out to be a terrible mistake.
1. In the first few days of joining BlueHost, my website was down at least five times and in the customer support, when I told them about the problem, they didn't know how to fix it or they didn't see anything wrong yet my website was clearly down!
The times my website was up, it lagged a lot and was loading slowly most of the time, yet there was little to no content on the site itself! If anyone is looking to get serious with their website. BlueHost is definitely NOT the way to go.
Although the customer service was quite fast, it seemed to me, that the people there didn't know much more than I did. They couldn't fix any problems I had or they couldn't find the issue.
3. I didn't get 100% of my money back when canceled.
They didn't give me a full refund although on their landing page, they say clearly that there is a 100% money back guarantee. I got about $10 less, and when I contacted about my issue, they always tried to somehow change topic to make me buy their service again or make me leave. They were not helpful.
I ended up losing my money and I consider this a scam as they just took the money for nothing.
4. There were many features in BlueHost cpanel, yet most of them were completely useless and an average person would have nothing to do with them. All I needed was to install WordPress and from there, I only used what WordPress offered and nothing to do with BlueHost.
However, despite all the negative there were a few good things about BlueHost you cannot find elsewhere:
1. You get a Free domain when signing up with them, which is very great because you will save at least $10/year.
2. It's very cheap and the best host for a low budget.
Conclusion: If you are on a low-budget, BlueHost is the way to go, however if you want to build a serious site with no downtime and make sure everything is running how it's supposed to, then BlueHost is the worst choice you could make. I personally would not recommend BlueHost to anyone if it weren't for the free domain.
From my point of view BlueHost is one of the best if you want wordpress platform with your hosting. After all it is recommended by wordpress themselves. I think the prices are bit high it should be aroung 5$ per month for one year but there prices are 5$/month if you buy their hosting for 12 months.
But they give a lot of features which gives complete value for the money.Their customer support is quite good and resonably fast. But it could be better.I think this host is suitanle for anyone who wants to start a blog espacially a wordpress blog. They also have free domain name for one year . They have handled problems quite effectively.
Their uptime is also pretty good. At the present i think their servers are down for maintainence. I would summarize the above with following words
" Blue host is close to perfect for customers who want to start a wordpress blog with dmain name and many other features.Price are also good.
Customer service is laos very good. For blog hosting i wwoukld give it a 4.5 star"
Before I began my first real site, I had some experience with free hosting sites. Compared to them, BlueHost is an elite hosting. The features offered at BlueHost, are brilliant. $4.95 a month for an unlimited hosting with free domain, is something you rarely see.
It would probably be number 1 hosting, if it wasn't for these 2 things:
- Uptime isn't dependable - 3 months ago, my site was down for about 40 minutes. Every serious webmaster know that even less than 1 hour, can seriously hurt his online profits. This only happened once, and I received an apology on email, shortly after.
If anything, its good that they are aware of the downtime.
- Site design is too simple - Many ran away after they witnessed it. I tried to get a friend of mine to host at BlueHost like me, but it was futile. He believed that anyone with basic computer skills could design a site that way, so according to him - it was scam.
They need to make their design more professional. That way, people will trust them more. Since its so simple, its great for beginners and experts alike.
Support is friendly and replies fast. I recommend this host for people that want to start their own business. I host my shop there, and that downtime was the only thing I hate about them. In a nutshell, great hosting service.
Im an IT manager of a large transportation company in Reno, NV. For years we had a smaller local company host our 9 domains and things were okay. The issue was support.
The sys admin for that small hosting company only worked 4 hours a day. If I needed support during those off hours, I was out of luck and it badly reflected on our sites. Also, their hosting service cost us $180/mo!!!
No kidding! Ive since, recently, switched to BlueHost. As I cannot comment on uptime just yet, the rest of the service is Grade A+.
Support really does live up to its claim: a voice on the line in less than 30 seconds. See if Your hosting service can do that.... We run three different WordPress sites and they load faster than the other host we had.
Also, we host SQL databases on two different servers at our facility and the redirects and A-records set on Bluehost work flawlessly. All in all, and for the money, Bluehost Rocks!
I have had a terrible time with Bluehost. I have many accounts and sites with them and experience downtime regularly, even with the Pro accounts, which I upgraded to with the hope that the service would be better. Often the sites are slow - they hang for a period of time while trying to load.
I think it has to do with PHP processing, MySQL requests, or both, so if you use either, Do not use Bluehost. At other times the sites are completely unresponsive. I have a lot of my client's websites here and I've nearly lost clients due to the poor reliability.
I have to worry about it constantly. I would move all of my sites from Bluehost, but it would probably take me a week or more to do it and I just don't have that kind of time. They heavily promote the fact that you can put as many sites on one account as you want.
Why??!! Ever since they started that, performance and reliability have nose dived. I Do not recommend Bluehost.
I love Bluehost since I had my domain for a couple of years now and so far I have no problems. I like the design of the domain panel and I got a really good price. I would recommend Bluehost.
I'm so frustrated. My blog is where most of my business comes in, and it crashes at Least once a week. I'm on the phone with support now to correct yet another crash, a mere 24 hours after the last crash. The only thing the support people can tell me when I call to report the problem is that "they're aware of it, and they're working to correct the problem." I will definitely not be using BlueHost in the future, nor will I recommend any of my friends use it either.
Well, i think Bluehost is the best Host for starters, because it is cheap and reliable plus it has the awesome cpanel + a nice support (which mostly can help you with Everything). The only Proble i see in Bluehost is, that they have the most users/websites hostet..which results to a slow server connection/website speed. That slow speed can be seen on new Websites (as example, my newest site, which has nearly nothing on it and should load instantly: www.pokergorillas.de). At the end of the day, i am a happy customer since 3 1/2 years!
They always treat me right and are very quick to reply. I like the full array of features available, too
I've been with them for more then 5years, and have had a great experience so far. Not perfect but pretty close for shared hosting. They do regular maintenance yearly around Aug/Sept or so which causes an outage of a couple of hours in the wee morning hours.
Good central location of Ormen UT means low latency
The lack of VPS makes it a pain if you need to upgrade your service to the next level. Great Support very understanding and helpful.
Well, I started venturing into this website tings by May 2008 and realized after a few months that I need a paid hosting to get started. Free ones won't do for my big ambitions. But I was not ready to spend out huge bucks.
So, after doing a lot of research when I was getting more and more confused I stumbled on to Bluehost. And believe me I am so happy I did. Cost- Though normally it costs 6.95$/month, I signed up through an offer from some site for 2 years at 3.95$/month.
Very cheap in my opinion. Flavors- Unlike other hosts, Bluehost only has a single offer and gives almost everything you can ask in a shared hosting in it. What I got at 3.95$/month would have cost me 10$ at other hosts for sure.
Features- You can host unlimited domains and get unlimited disc space and bandwidth. Surprised? No, they don't mean limited, its really unlimited.
Fair Usage Policy states that there is a limit on CPU usage at a time but bandwidth and disc space is really unlimited without any fineprints. You get all you need- Fanastico, Simplescripts, PHP, Perl, 50$ Adwords voucher, 25$ YSM and Miva each and more. Comes with the latest CPanel too.
The only little concern is that your MySQL is limited to 100 but who uses so much in a shared account anyway? Performance- Bluehost is fantastic in performance, Period. Never had any issues upto now.
Good page load speed, fast script installations. I never got any downtime. A++
Support- Just needed to contact support twice and they were very knowledgeable and prompt.
Answered my queries instantaneously and were infact eager to help. Got my identity confirmed for Adwords code in minutes. Value- When I get features and performance of 10$/month host at 3.95$ you know its a steal.
Even if I had bought it for 6.95$ it would have been a steal for that sum. Conclusion- If you are in need of a shared host with top notch performance, this is the one. Don't think about anything else.
You can search about its flaw. I guarantee you won't find any. P.S.- They also have a great affiliate system.
I wanted to setup my company website, after comparing and reading reviews of many webhost, I finally found BlueHost, believe me I had the best experience with bluehost, their cpanel have all the features and helped me a lot to setup my website in just a single day, I found the web hosting price in my budget, I would really recommend bluehost for any web hosting needs.
Bluehost is a powerful and economical hosting. It was very pleasant particularly the experience with this company, a leading worldwide as a Web hosting company is concerned. The technical support in Spanish has been a great help, initially to migrate all websites that was stored in the previous company and then to answer some concerns I had about how to activate certain features on my plan. The price is excellent in relation to other companies market leaders such as HostGator or Banahosting.
When I was looking to choose the best web hosting I started research to find out best hosting industry to host my site and read reviews on different websites to get familiar with it. After a long research I made my final decision to choose Bluehost.com and I registered my account with it. After registering the hosting plan on Bluehost.com I was directed to my client account area where everything was available to help me out.
I started using CPanel and installed CMS "WordPress" and it took only seconds to complete. The available tutorials inside the client area helped me a lot and I learnt almost everything regarding the Cpanel and few other things about hosting which I didn't know before. I am in love with Bluehost.com because it has saved my time by sending me an email to notify that the version of new WordPress has been released and there was a just one step to follow and which is to update the WordPress manually or let Bluehost.com update it whenever new version "WordPress release" I allowed Bluehost.com to update it automatically so I do not need to disturb myself to update WordPress.
The support provided by the team of Bluehost.com is excellent because my queries were answered very quickly. Features are also great and I have never faced any downtime issue. I would recommend it to everyone whoever is looking for best hosting company.
Bluehost offers a lot of great baked-in features such as: CloudFlare integration, easy one-click installs for a wide range of common apps such as Wordpress and Drupal via MojoMarketplace (previously known as SimpleScripts), easy creation of email accounts with help configuring you email client, easy setup of FTP accounts with help configuring your FTP client, easy setup of databases, a web-based file manager if you don't want to use an FTP client, phpMyAdmin to manage your databases, and countless other features I haven't used yet. I've only been in touch with Bluehost customer service once, and that was to ask a really obscure question about PHP security for an article I was writing. I half expected them to brush me off since the question wasn't really relevant to anything they were doing for me, but they didn't.
It took 2 or 3 minutes (which was totally ok based on how obscure my question was) and then came back with an intelligent answer and explanation. I was pleased. I did not shop around when I originally bought hosting from Bluehost, and a couple of times I've thought to myself: "I really should check out some other hosting providers". However, every time I do I come away unconvinced that there's anyone else that offers a better setup for my hosting needs at a better price.
Bluehost currently is not my hosting but has most of my domains. Bluehost had my hosting business til I decided to try a GoDaddy Reseller account- after deciding that wasn't for me, I settled with a different Hosting that was less expensive. Otherwise they were fine in terms of support, et al
Excellent host ! used various local shared hosting available in eBay before moving to bluehost . When they say 99.9% uptime , they actually deliver unlike other providers .
Also have an excellent support . Had some problems with global php request timeout and they sorted it out in less than 24 hours which considering timezone difference is a excellent response time . Will keep using it till i get a dedicated vps
my experience with bluehost was terrible as an Iranian living in Iran however the service was perfect and from support to servers uptime was great the suspended my account removing all my data and without any refund because of sanctions limitations.
I am a internet marketer. I love BlueHost because it is one of the best hosting for websites, I am using bluehost after getting recommendation from the great internet marketer George Brown, and it is really amazing its increase my online business rapidly. It has some amazing features, like unlimited storage for unlimited websites, they also have vpn servers for big giants, uptime speed is amazing, they also gave me a free domain.
Customer support is very reliable, They can solve any problem within hour after lodging a complain, in short they have all the features which a hosting company should have. Big Marketers and master minds are using blueHost and they also recommending it to the others. I recommend blueHost to all my friends and fellow marketers. I am using its affiliate tools in my websites also.
I consider, that is very useful and cheap, I can store unlimited files, email accounts and databases for the same price, there is a very fast chat system for support and sales, :D but all is only in English :(
I had a shared BlueHost account for many years. They seem to be the most valuable shared hosting provider out there with cPanel, which is a great way to manage websites on your own. One day, I received a notification from BlueHost out of the blue that I had violated their acceptable use policy and that my service was suspended.
I had no recourse due to being locked out of my shared account so I contact their live chat support that told me I was using their server as a storage host which is against their policy. The offending files that they thought I was hosting on the shared account was 2 cPanel backups that were in the root and were recently generated and soon to be downloaded. I explained that it was simply a backup of my site (by a utility and method that is provided by them) but they would not back down.
I sent an email to the very public CEO of the company who returned my email with a very rude comment about not reading the terms and conditions and being a bad customer. The bottom line is that, from my experience, their service is good, however their policies and support reps (including the CEO himself) do a very poor job of communicating their policies and understanding the ramifications of backing up your website and how it relates to their policies. If you cannot afford to have your website down due to false accusations of abuse then this provider is not for you.
I am using Bluehost hosting service for more than 10 years for my business. They are offering amazing service and packages which suits small to mid size and large enterprise corporations. Outstanding Support, Speed and Flexibility, Blazing Fast Servers, SSH Secure Shell Access and lots of features.
BlueHost are really good because they have good servers, easy FTP file transfer, it's quite cheap and there is infinite storage.
And i actually mean it. Bluehost with their extra ordinary service and support have build an amazing reputation around the silicon valley. before becoming a customer i was to know 1 basic thing, whether there would be someone to hear me when i am having trouble regarding my site, whether someone would be available to troubleshoot my problems.
Well, I can assure you one thing, any and every support queries are handled by the folks at bluehost on priority basis . The customers of bluehost do not need to be some computer expert or a programmer. If u have the basic knowledge to express the problem you are facing in the simplest of language, then you can be assured that bluehost has interpreted your problem and are well on the way to solve it.
Bluehost has the best customer support and thats what makes it stand among its competitors. Blueshost is suitable for all kinds of customer. If u have few thousand visitors or a few million everyday, you can be assured that bluehost can stand erect with the traffic and still run smoothly.
I would certainly recommend bluehost to everyone around. It is a landmark in the field of web hosting. Blue host stands for creating new heights everyday in this field everyday.
I've been a BlueHost subscriber for the past 3 years and have had an excellent experience through them. When I first subscribed it was a matter of pricing->feature value, but the cPanel experience was weak and the upgrade process was hit and miss. Over the past three years BlueHost has resolved any issues I had with them.
They're cPanel is greatly improved, they're feature set is much broader with few limitations, and with their new reseller account options I can host clients without any of the problems I used to run in to. BlueHost's cPanel in particular is where the best value comes. When I started my subscription with them I was less than savvy about many things relating to hosting or marketing or anything else that would otherwise lead to solid web presence.
There are many included tools and promotions that BlueHost provides with the subscription that put me on the right track and led to more opportunities as I matured. Technical expertise is not a requirement as BlueHost has most of those tools available to you, but there is still enough flexibility for more savvy developers to get their hands dirty. The only one quorum I have is a lack of root level access, but that isn't a dealbreaker for myself personally.
Overall I'd consider BlueHost as one of my favorite webhosts. There are others I've tried, but BlueHost has been the most reliable and their customer service team has always been quick and knowledgeable. For those who want a simple but reliable experience then BlueHost is the way to go; those who want complete control over their experience may not like how BlueHost does things.
I purchased a 3 year hosting plan from BlueHost on a Saturday. They assigned me a temporary domain name which support told me would last from 25 minutes to 5 hours. During this time I was able to access Wordpress and start putting the page for my blog together.
After 5 hours I contacted BlueHost live chat to ask how long it would take for my domain name to become active. The person on chat never seemed to understand my problem. I even copied and pasted the error message from their site that explained the situation but to no avail.
I couldn't see how my blog looked or access email while the domain remained with a temporary address. On Sunday I tried 2 more times with live chat but couldn't get my problem resolved. I tried again on Monday and after chatting for a few minutes I realized that I wasn't going to have my problem resolved and asked for a refund.
The person took my information and said that I would be getting my refund. The refund hadn't been posted to my credit card account on Tuesday so I called customer support and talked to a person who understood my original problem and offered to solve it. I said no, I would just like to get my refund.
They told me that I wouldn't be getting the refund for my domain name purchase because the person who was processing the refund on Monday didn't complete the process and it had been more than 3 days since I had purchased the domain name and they would only refund that purchase during the first 3 days. (By the way, Tuesday was 3 days after Saturday) I received an email detailing my refund (less the price paid for the domain name) on Tuesday but it hadn't been posted to my credit card on Wednesday. I filed a claim with the credit card company and they have issued me a provisional credit. I know that stuff happens but when a problem is brought to the attention of a support person the problem should be worked on.
The live chat people should have been able to solve my problem or pushed it up to someone who could. If you use BlueHost I would recommend that you use their phone support instead of live chat for even the most simple problems.
Very disappointed in the level of support I received to resolve an SSL certificate renewal. The wildcard SSL in question was set to auto-renew but is was not being applied. Customers to my website were receiving an insecure error.
Bluehost support's solution was to just wait it will apply eventually. Sounded like they didn't really know what was happening. So I waited 5 hours.
Still no new SSL cert. I called again. This time they said it was Comodo's fault and told me to call Comodo even though the SSL cert was automatically purchased on Bluehost site.
When I called Comodo they said they needed the Comodo order number. Well, I don't have the comodo order number because I purchase the SSL cert on Bluehost's site. Been on hold now for 25 minutes with Bluehost to try and get the Comodo order number because it was not on my Bluehost invoice for the SSL cert. Uggggg........
Bad!!! I am a Blue Host subscriber. They shut me down without warning.
And I am developing an ecommerce store. Imagine if my site went live & got shut down just like that? Their reason for the shut down was that I was using a lot of resources.
Even if that were true, at least forewarn me & give me statistics to show that I am consuming resources beyond my contracted limit. No data & no forewarning. I am only at development stage - how much resources can my site consume when it is at development stage?
They won't even negotiate to let me get the site up to troubleshoot the problem. After this bad experience, I decided to migrate elsewhere.
They always are available to answer questions and never make me feel stupid for asking even obvious things. I have never had an issue with my site being down or with the tools Bluehost provides. I am very satisfied and recommend them to my friends who need web hosting services.
I used BlueHost always, I am a user for 10 years, the truth I have never had serious problems that would make me want to switch hosting. The technical service has been quick to answer my questions and problems. In 10 years that use has been fallen from my web but nothing major that has not been solved in less than an hour, as I have websites that receive lots of traffic do not really affect these micro falls that occur very infrequently when. I recommend it 100%
Vote for Bluehost ! BlueHost has been in business since 2002. They have over 20,000 customers and hosting millions of domains.
They are huge and successful. Many web hosts have gone out of business and yet they are growing big and fast. They must have served their customers very well.
All their customer supports are US based. They are using the world #1 web hosting control panel – the CPanel. They provide an installer known as SimpleScripts that allows you to install more than 50 scripts easily, including all the popular scripts such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and Magento.
They offer Anytime money back guarantee. If you are unhappy with them, you can cancel your account and get the unused portion back. If you cancel before the first 30 days, you get a full refund.
Most web hosts rent a datacenter because it is very costly to own one. Bluehost actually build their own datacenter! They have full control and access to their servers which means problems can be solved faster.
I have been a Bluehost customer for about 12 years. They started out being all around terrific. The support staff was knowledgeable, service was great, no downtime issues.
The $5.95/month cost for three years of service was a bargain. However, I've noticed that, in the past three years, service response time has deteriorated considerably. The expected response time on chats is usually ridiculously underestimates how long the wait will be.
My latest renewal has bumped by three year rate all the way up to $10.99/month. I tried to reach them about it this morning, and after 30 minutes waiting on an expected "six minute" wait time, I was asked for my verification information to begin the chat. After 15 more minutes of waiting, I finally gave up. If you go with them, the website uptime and web performance is good, but these cost issues and service problems are a deal killer.
I have been a Bluehost customer for 12 years, and I am sad to say that I am now looking for a new web host. When I started with them, you could not find better value for the money or better support, and I had unlimited storage and bandwidth and a free domain, but they are horrible now. They are charging me twice as much as when I started with them, they have dropped my storage, and now I have to pay for my domain too.
On top of all that, their customer service is almost non-existent. I contacted them about 2 months ago about a billing problem. I attempted to get chat support, and had to wait in the queue.
It said the wait time would be 28 minutes each time, but then the time kept getting extended, and then when it was my turn I got dropped, so I finally called them. I was on the phone for about 2 Hours, and every time I got someone on the line, they would tell me that I had to be transferred to another department. I was transferred to the same departments over and over again, and they never did anything to help me.
When I finally asked to speak to a supervisor, they told me there wasn't one there. Altogether I wasted about 4 hours with no results.
Bluehost is so incredibly terrible that I've given up on my website until I can change hosting providers. I've had Bluehost for about 8 months, and for the first 7 months I found them to be acceptable, despite their difficult-to-negotiate website that pushes the sale of additional products so hard that it feels like you're walking down the Vegas Strip or through South Beach. But in the last two weeks I've had nothing but frustration with them.
Initially the problem that my site would occasionally be down, and at other times would be frustratingly slow. Over the course of this past weekend, it got FAR worse - my site was down more than it was up; oftentimes I couldn't edit the site and anybody who tried to visit the site would get a "site not found" error message. A complaint ticket went unanswered for 2 days.
Today I received an e-mail saying that the problem was solved, yet today it was worse than ever - again and again my editor would give me a "cannot connect to server" error message. Until I find a better provider, I'm only doing basic editing and sure as hell am not marketing my site - the last thing I want to have happen is for somebody to try to visit my site and have it yield an error message or take minutes to load. Bluehost is horrific - try them out at your peril.
Bluehost (VPs) suck. Twice in the past week my development server has gone down and all support did was "create tickets" on which there was no follow up. Of course as a web developer with sensitive deadlines (for lawyers and law firms no less) this was catastrophic.
The general sentiment is non-apologetic and you can't even get in touch with any higher ups, ever. When you've got a complaint, they literally direct you to "email@example.com" - who often diverts your queries right back down to lower level "support." I'm flabbergasted that this service is recommended by WordPress.
Bought a hosting package from bluehost only to find out the ip they gave me was blacklisted for spam. Contacted support and they told me to contact every email service provider and file to be removed. Could take months costing my company time and money.
From: $ 2.75 / Month
