I'm not good at using the web hosting services. By that, I mean I'm not very experienced and I'm not in it very often. When I do go there, I've usually forgotten everything I thought I knew.
Today I inquiring why my new domain wasn't showing up when I typed in my domain in my browser. Alicia H discovered my problem (I'd purchased the domain but I hadn't added the domain to the host). She was quick, correct and gave me instruction to get it fixed.
Each time I've contacted support there when I do something only newbies do, I get a great technician. Today was no different.
First off I have to admit I'm new to Blogging...that being said, there was a time I wrote html code 'in the raw' before fancy software came available. At the time I was working for a small Internet startup attached to our local telephone company. I was a Unix sysadmin and trouble shooter as well as customer support and webpage coder.
Even with my background I found that the WordPress learning curve was 0 to 100 in the first 5 minutes. Because of that, I've had more than my share of interaction with the customer support people. They have been More than helpful and considerate to me with all my questions and problems.
Thanks to them I now have what I consider a nice Blog up and running. I would especially like to commend the support team for making a 'chat' feature available to those of us who require support....it is so much nicer that going through umpty ump levels of a 'conversant' system and then being put on hold with some scratchy music. I would highly recommend InMotion Hosting for anyone who is looking to establish a web presence.
Used to be a good host, but I think they are overloaded now that they've mounted such a huge advertising campaign. Support, when you get it, is pretty good, but I've had a lot of attacks on my websites and lots of unexplained failures especially with Wordpress. Right now I'm waiting for a support operator to answer my call. I'm told my wait time will be 82 minutes!!
I took a deep breath... didn't help one bit! I've been a client for one year.
I manage a corporate account which I will personally shut down first thing tomorrow and I also manage a personal account. Several hours ago Inmotion decided that my personal website is pulling too much resources. My traffic hasn't changed, it has always been between 2 and 4 thousand visitors per day, which isn't small but it's nothing new.
So what do they do? Without Any warning they shut down my account until I spoke with a representative! I called them as fast as I could, only to hear that there aren't any representatives on the phone until the next business day!!!!
Insane! Do not rely on Inmotion hosting! For the record, my personal account is (WAS) using a VPS 1000, this is not the type of account which sucks resources without paying!!!!
I know nothing about IT. If you know how to make a website, the features are all there. I used the sitebuilder and the website I have is way better than the one I had through Microsoft.
I wish that CPanel was as intuitive. The customer service is amazing. I have used the 24/7 chat several times and they always resolve any issues I have immediately.
My issues have been only my own limited knowledge of how to make a website work the way I want it to- lol. So far, I am only a month in to my web experience with inmotion, but I am quite pleased with my decision.
I just moved my sites to InMotion Hosting this week, and I`ve been interacting with the support team every day (even several times a day lol). And I must say I am totally satisfied with their service. The Support Team guys are always patiently and clearly responding to my questions and if there`s need for an email - I don`t have to wait for it - they do send it on time!
I used to host my sites on BlueHost and at least 3 times a month there was a downtime on the server my account was associated with. And the support team guys at Bluehost were just shutting down their Alive Chat window or would tell me that "there is a problem on Your server and we`re trying to fix it, while YOU are just complaining here"... But in fact it was their server and they were running it in the way that caused so many downtimes...
And last after I moved my wordpress site to InMotion Hosting it became faster, though guys in Bluehost were telling me that the speed was slow because of "Your website structure" but as it happens it was slow because of their Slow servers and their lack of desire to help their customers... So if you want to run a fast wordpress site on a shared hosting then I recommend InMotion Hosting.
I gave 5 out of 5 for everything they offer even though I was their customer for only a few days. They are quick and very supportive. I have more than 10 questions and with their live chat I was able to get answers for them as fast as 10 minutes or less.
They even helped me process the payment and they were with me the whole time. Even after a day, they sent an email to make sure everything was okay and it was a personalized email based on my last chat with them. Anyways, their support is 7 out of 5.
That's how good they are. I enjoyed their other services as well but unfortunately my company asked me to cancel the purchase for some unrelated reasons (internal). Imagine a happy customer like me wants to cancel and ask for a refund.
A full refund. It took me 4 minutes or less using their live chat and it was done! I will 100% recommend them to any one who cares about high quality services and patient but quick support.
Been having trouble with support for the 2 months I've had them so far. If you remind them daily of your issue, they will help. The value and features are second to none as far as I can tell.
Security is strict and staff is nice. I'm learning to be very specific in what I need done. Otherwise, this company is great!
I just switched one of my domains from BlueHost to inmotion. One of the first great features in motion offers is migrating all sites for free. When I signed up for bluehost they said I could migrate 5 sites free.
When time came to migrate, they said it was 100.00 for 5 sites. Migrating can be a real pain with wordpress. Inmotion tech said go here on site and request migrating just one site at this time.
I filled it out and the next morning which was about 7 hours later, site was migrated. I do not know of other hosting companies that do that. But best of all, there speed is amazing.
My site is 70 on mobile and 100 on desktop. For wordpress that is unbelievable. I constantly spend lots of time speeding up my sites.
This particular sites best desktop speed I could acquire with bluehost was 76. I ran it 3 times because I could not believe it. I then ran the gtmetrix test and it came up 99 page speed and 100 YSlow.
I am having a hard time believing a hosting company can be that different from another. Inmotion hosting has great pricing and your first year is an unbelievable deal. I recommend them over any other hosting company. Great job InMotion Hosting!
It's all about uptime and support for me - and in Motion is the best I've used with both! On the rare occasions when I've need help and/or support they have been phenomenal. They are easy to reach, easy to understand and always take care of the issue quickly! The best!
Using inmotion since 2012, not any issue great support at all times! I am hosting 5 domains with thousands of visits and all good!
Your tech support has been very good. You're staff is knowledgeable and usually resolves my issues quickly or explains to me what needs to be done. Good tech support is vital for my business since I run my own site.
You have a good team. I hope you keep it going and get even better. Wishing you continued success.
I am not very good with websites and my site got hacked. When I AM the support desk, Edward P got rid of the hacker page. He also helped me get my site to post.
He sent me a few articles that was in an easy language to understand. Very helpful and very nice. I appreciated him not talking over my head.
Their overall price is very good but you’ll be highly disappointed with their service. I’ve had numerous downtime scenarios with InMotion and lost a lot of traffic due to this. It really sucks when there are over 20,000 visitors per day that visit my website and want to know why it’s down….
yet again. If you don’t care about your website’s visitors, then go with InMotion . They say that good news travels to 7 people while bad news goes to 15.
InMotion is “bad news”. Go elsewhere, NOW!!!! As for my new plan, I've already signed up for HostGator's dedicated server.
I have been with inMotion Hosting after switching from 2 other major hosts. I have had a much better experience with inMotion. They are great with support and provide good hosting.
They were a little bit more than some of the other hosts, but I think I need something a little bit more as I host several websites. They also had a great option for Email.
Inmotionhosting is the worst host i ever worked with. Sites are always down. Monitor.us reports 91% uptime on my site, worst than 1and1 and BlueHost shared hosting (and i'm on a VPS with inmotion!)
I would not recommend IMH, unless you like having your websites down, and up, and down, and up... They were ok until a few months ago, but i don't know what they changed, but uptime and speed are the worst... 0/10
spoke to a woman who walked me through cpanel phoned back for further instructions "don't know what i am taking about can't help". support staff really hit and miss i just wanted to add meta tags to a template. finally gave up and talked to another provider.
i asked for my domain to be moved and the tech screwed it up. hours wasted. i phoned back again and got another tech who knew how to do it.
time wasted!!! do the whole thing all over again only right this time. my main complaint is sometimes you call and get someone who knows what they are doing and sometimes not.
frustrating!!! now billed for service after i have already moved. july 2010 just phoned now to let you know.
past 30 day service guarantee what service i moved??? i didn't have service!!! kept my payment but assured that you won't charge me again for a service that i don't have. HostGator, godaddy with all the competition i won't be back
For the past 5 years, I was hosted by iPage.com. I struggled with their poor technical support, often waiting 72 hours for a response. I was very frustrated.
Inmotion Hosting technical support is incredible. The chat line is answered immediately and I have always had a very positive outcome with their technical support. I am frequently there asking for assistance and I am always provided with quick, efficient and polite responses.
They assisted me in moving my four sites and their domain names and they always checked to make sure the transfers were completed correctly. Inmotion hosting also provides free SSL which was very easy to apply. Moving to Inmotion Hosting was the best thing I have done with respect to my websites!
Great application for first time web page folks like me (but also has extensive capability geared for the hard-core experienced coder..). I am very happy and satisfied I chose In motion (after comparing many different services). The applications are great.
And customer/technical support outstanding. They are always there, always responsive....and always patient with my questions and issue. Inmotion has a winning combination going. Great service, great support.
After six years, I'm leaving InmotionHosting. For two years now, they have invoiced my renewal at higher than the full retail price on their web site. This time, when I pointed out (with screen shots) that they wanted to charge me $9.23/month for one year when their site showed $8.99, literally the next day they changed the retail price on the web site to $9.99.
When I saw that our bandwidth was being throttled (automated Wordpress backup), I had to spend thirty minutes waiting ("higher than usual call volume" appears to be the new norm at InmotionHosting) for a tech, who then took another 30 minutes to finally conclude that no, that wouldn't happen (according to someone one tier up), even as together we looked at the graphs showing the bandwidth bouncing repeatedly off a limit. And, oh yeah, their warning that our bandwidth was being throttled. Tech support used to be top notch there. After dealing with this chucklehead, the tech support wait time, the very slow Wordpress, and frequent outages (I have small site; I really should never have been aware of any outages), I bailed, and after only a couple days have gotten prompt tech support, have a UI that's pleasant to look at, and my blog postings publish probably 10X faster.
InMotion Hosting has been incredibly helpful from the very first contact I made with them. I am running a personal election website and have only very minor experience on website building being worked with only blogger before. They helped me to set up the site, work out the basics and have answered every question quickly and professionally.
I would especially like to express my gratitude to the customer chat support that works absolutely perfectly. There are long queues but they tend to move on fast and as soon as you get customer service chatting with you it's easy work. Great value for anyone starting their own website. Great wordpress tools as well for those who want easy access.
Well, I was getting really upset because I couldn't imagine that anyone could connect to the MySQL database that I had created via cPanel....I thought I had tried every logon / password / server name option without success and was getting really pissed-off because I could never connect. I called the tech support at inmotionhosting the fellow that helped me was incredibly patient and he walked me through the process for connecting to the MySQL database. Bradley Nixon

It really is worth paying a little more for great service and support; in this business, bottom feeding just doesn't work. Case in point: today I was thrilled to hear that my purchase of an SSL certificate includes all the annoying server configuration that would have cost me at least a couple of hours this evening. I highly recommend in Motion as a hosting solution.
Don't use Inmotion Hosting. Their service used to be good, but now it stinks. Twice all my Wordpress sites disappeared mysteriously and Inmotion claimed absolutely no responsibility nor did they help me.
This cost us 5 hours of emergency work to restore our sites. Terrible customer service!
Their customer support is the best I've experienced anywhere. This is one of the main reasons we stay with InMotionHosting. Website management is easy, and their support people are knowledgeable, available 24/7, and have always answered by questions and resolved any issues I've had.
Recently, Michael L. helped me resolve a systems resource issue with our Wordpress site by referring me to the super cache plugin. Since April I was slowly moving our blog pages over to Wordpress, and didn't realize I needed to install a caching plugin.
When we turned it on live, it suddenly used up too much of their system resources and that shut our entire website down, including email. In a matter of minutes, Michael identified the issue, steered me to the cache plugin, and sent me a step-by-step article which walked me through how to install it and get it working. Then today I needed to figure out how to delete the comment box that was showing up under each blog article (to prevent spammers from posting garbage on the blog).
Another support person steered me to yet another article on their support site with step-by-step instructions for editing the html code to do this. No - it didn't work to simply un-check the comments boxes in the WP them options area. Their online support site is awesome as well! If you're looking for a web host, I definitely recommend them highly!
Every time I have a question and contact support, I get excellent service and my questions are answered, problems solved, professionally and courteously. Since I am not a professional web designer or webmaster expert, having this kind of support is critical to my being able to update our website and maintain it efficiently and effectively. I recommend your services whenever I can simple because of this outstanding service, the easy website editor interface, the professional looking templates, and the affordability of your service.
Without the excellent support and customer service, however, the rest would be meaningless. You make it possible for me to get my critical work done quickly. Your services are perfect for professionals like myself who don't have a professional web designer to rely on or a team of web-talented staff. In my mind and experience, you rock!
I boxed myself into a corner by doing some things on my WordPress site that I couldn't recover from. I had an alias web address that was no longer accessible. I contacted InMotion support via their chat function and in 15 minutes they had me back in business. Nicely done, in Motion.
As someone who considers themselves nowhere near expert level with site building etc., I have come across more than a few problems where I needed some guidance. I have always found Inmotion Hosting to go the extra mile to help customers. I did come across an instance where someone wanted to send me to read endless pages of script, but other than that one instance I can honestly say I will not be seeking new hosting in future.
InMotion Hosting Rocks! I've been using InMotion for over a year now and they have helped me every step of the way. I run my two small business and have two part time jobs so I'm very limited with time.
Also, I've only had a year of experience making my own websites. So when my novices web skills lack and I'm pressed for time, InMotion Hosting is always there to bail me out. They are just an online chat away.
I'm all about service and they exceed my expectations every time. Their support team are all very knowledgeable and courteous. Thank you InMotion Hosting.
As part of running a web development agency, I'm involved in 100+ sites, most of which I host on behalf of clients, and most of which run Joomla. I've long considered In motion among the top three hosts for Joomla-based websites. When I first got into web development, they were actually my #2 go-to host.
But, I've learned slowly over the years that there are some technical advantages to In motion, so they have become my #1 hosting company. This is because their servers are, Imho, better than their competition's, proven to me over the years by the capabilities available to users as well as the uptime that exceeds the other companies in this space. Also, when I do need support, those guys are ON it, and that seals the deal for me.
I have used inMotion for several websites over the past 6 years, and currently host 4 client sites with them, with more to come. I am always happy with the level of technical support they provide. I don't feel like I am reading a script through the phone, but rather I am actually talking to someone who knows something. The quality of their hardware, administration panel, and tools provided is also a huge plus for me.
I have been using Inmotionosting.com for about 5 years now. From the beginning their customer support was flawless. Back then they regularly answered the phone in under 5 rings. Although now it takes a longer for them to answer, I still get the great support. And support is what I needed then and still need today.
Back then I needed help loading html files and photos into my public_html file. Today it's making sure my django project files are getting into to that same public_html file. What ever I need, they got it. This is particularly noteworthy because at this time Inmotionhosting.com is one of the few hosting services that offer django 1.8 and python 3.5.
As always Inmotionhosting.com has both the technology and the fast, friendly, detailed support that helps me use it. keith
Whmcs included together with cPanel/WHM for resellers but the price is as high as a VPS so the value is not worth continue after first month i close... when consider the speed is a little slow and the harddrives very small. I prefer a fast short response time webhosting solution with atleast 200gb space and unlimited bandwidth
Hi, I have using Inmotion hosting starting from 2008 and it is great solution for our business. They are fast and professional, they do all the best for their users. Support very fast and qualified.
Most valuable way for using this hosting is that security is in high level. Buying hosting from this company a little expensive but it is not big problem for such service.
InMotion is a great hosting. Their support are fast, helpful and always available! Best support I've ever seen from an hosting.
I'm running few website using a VPS and the performance is great, even if I'm not a US citizen. Again, InMotion's support team have Always be helpful. Never seen that level before...
I have tried a few different hosting services and I keep coming back to InMotion Hosting. The main reason is that their tech support is easily reached 24/7 via chat or phone, and they have always been able to help me in a professional, polite, and effective manner. With other hosting services I have found this not to be the case.
InMotion Hosting's support is Awesome. Now I am moved all my websites over to InMotion for this reason.
I really recommend Inmotion Hosting for the experienced or even the beginners, they are awesome. The support is very helpful and the 24/7 chat is a great tool, any time of the day you can chat with someone. I'm using a shared hosting for a few months and I never had downtime for my websites. They are committed with open sources, so you can install the most popular programs just in a few clicks.
So glad I moved my sites over to Inmotion Hosting. This is the third web host that I've had over the years and the reason I've stayed so long and will continue to stay is the support. Whenever I've called or chatted with tech support, they have been fast to solve my problems and super friendly!
Even better, I'm not shipped off to some call center where there is a language barrier. Plenty of features for the Drupal and WordPress sites I host here and installation and customizations could not be easier! Definitely one happy camper here.
The support is great. Quickly got connected to someone on chat, and he was quickly able to resolve an issue I had been trying to solve myself for many hours.
I was recently hired by one of InMotion's customers to rebuild their website. Unfortunately, their previous web dude wasn't very forthcoming with information so I had to contact the support team to unravel the mess that was left of all of the logins and setup. Cory P.
was very patient and swift to clarify details and take swift action which helped me get to the real work at hand ... building a great new website. Great Job!
I love, I said Love InMotion Hosting. Best technical support, 24/7, they are totally knowledgeable, very responsive and just amazing. I only work with IMH for all my clients or else my clients pay me for my tech support time!!!
I made the switch almost 4 years ago and would never, I mean never, host anywhere else. You tech people rock!!!!
This has been 1st class service, thanks for answering my specific question in a prompt and courteous manner!
I can't compare Inmotion to other hosting sites, and I have had some issues over the years, but I most recently used online chat support to straighten out email issues and Edward P. helped me out. There was very little wait to be connected and Edward handled my questions as well as my bitching like a champ.
It's not often that I get through with any tech support interaction and think "Yes, that's how it's supposed to go," but that was definitely the case here. If you need help with your account, use the online chat. Don't know what the odds are of you getting connected to Edward P but, if you do, you are in great hands.
Thanks again. Jim
Pretty much a disaster. Always have trouble logging in. Tech support guys say it's because of an "authentication loop" and they've asked their folks to fix it.
But it isn't fixed, and when I try to log into C-Panel end up calling InMotion, being put on hold listening to crappy music, and having my password reset for the umpteenth time. They also have had the gall to shut down our site claiming some issue with it without alerting us in advance (it's a news site and needs to be live 24/7). Good luck calling the guy who supposedly runs the place.
Customer service says they don't know where he's based and don't have a telephone number for him. I'm guessing the positive reviews are from their employees, who I feel sorry for given the crazy number of customer service calls they must get. Avoid!
I've been using InMotionHosting for almost a year now. I migrated my VPS from another hosting company that was having frequent down time. So far everything has been great with InMotionHosting with the exception of one thing.
Wait times! Every time I have tried calling or using their chat system the amount of wait time has been ridiculous. They are very knowledgeable and always helpful but the wait times are off the charts.
Even submitting a ticket request for an additional IP address took days rather than hours. Fortunately I don't have to contact them often because I am happy with the service, but come on guys, staff up a little and answer those questions a little quicker.
In motion is the perfect example of a company that I like to work with. Intuitive, smart, fast, easy and excellent value. They make the others look very low grade in comparison.
If I didn't need to host anything with in motion hosting I'd probably just send them money anyway. They are that cool.
They appear to overload their servers. We bought the "Business Class" hosting expecting higher quality than your typical shared web host. We were wrong, dead wrong.
Constant downtime on the ecbiz83.inmotionhosting.com server. Suffered from MySQL being down to the entire site being offline.
I have been very pleased with InMotion on a number of different levels. First, the level of support is nothing short of outstanding. I particularly like chatting since I can get answers very quickly.
Second, my site is responsive and suffers very little downtime. Third. The price is right.
I have had a web site with In Motion for approx the last 5 years. Bottom line = Excellent in every way. We could not happier with the entire relationship and staff we have worked with.
Because of our experience we are now going to create another new web site with In Motion with the shopping cart capability as well as upgrade our current web site to also include the shopping cart. I would like to mention a couple of folks I worked with to start our second web site. Adam Bozeman was a pleasure to work with.
He answered and explained every question in a clear, concise, and professional manner not to mention gave me a deal I could not refuse. Annie was also very helpful and "very" patient. With people like this In Motion will go along way. So I guess all I can say is "Hell of a Job"
I never have to worry with InMotion Hosting. I've been with other hosts in the past and I was in a constant state of worry because of frequent issues. I haven't had a single problem with InMotion and couldn't be happier with their service.
Beware! I had been with inmotion for a few months on a VPS without issue. Recently they had a VPS "outage" as they explained it.
They must have lost a server, no idea as you can't get any straight answers from them. Just check their twitter and you'll see all of the happy customers. After two days of my sites being down, they were able to finally get the sites back up.
I sighed, and assumed everything was good to go. Fast forward two more days, and the sites go down again. Now they are claiming that my original issue was not with their previous VPS issues, (after one of their "top tier" reps told me it was) and that someone got into my account and "deleted everything".
Not sure exactly how that is done, but I am positive it wasn't done. So in short, buyer beware. I will never be using their services again.
Two months trying to get a VPS running and I give up. Maybe they are OK if you don't have special needs (but then, why would I need a VPS?). In the beginning, I was impressed by the speed and friendliness of their support team.
But what is the use of this if the information you get is contradictory? I've wasted US$ 400+ and too many hours. So, if you need a VPS with anything non-standard, don't try InMotion Hosting.
I have recently changed servers and joined InMotion. I could not have made a better decision. I could not believe, that when I phoned for some advice it took no longer than about a minute to be connected to a member of the Support team.
The boys are everything one could wish for. Courteous - Helpful – and what’s more is that they are highly expert and knowledgable on any subject confronted with. Nothing seems too much trouble.
I am a novice in this area and truly appreciate not being talked “down to”
My compliments to InMotion and the whole team. Best of good wishes. Kurt Alice Springs. AU
I have been with InMotion for four years. In that time, all of my sites go down at least 4 times a year for an extended period of time. All I hear from them is that they are having issues and have no resolution time.
This is not acceptable for a business. I spend a lot of money and expect that downtime will be at a minimum. I don't know who is reviewing this vendor and giving it 5 stars but obviously they are not trying to run a business. I am currently looking for a new web host.
There are many reasons why I am with InMotion. Currently, I am having a blogging site with them, will host more websites soon ;)
First thing I love about InMotion Hosting is their customer service! I contacted them several times at every problem and they quickly given me response.
Mostly, I had live chat with them. Whenever, I have a question, I just start a live chat and talk to them. Once I was doing some editing on my site, I accidentally made a mistake in .htaccess file.
My site suddenly went down. It was my mistake! I was thinking what to do!
what to do! Then, I thought InMotion might help me. Time was about 12:30 AM at my side.
I started live chat and explained about my issue. Their agent solved the issue within 10-15 minutes. Second reason is their features, they are giving free domain, 90 days money back guarantee, advertising credits, and much more with their service. Well, I love the money back guarantee, I think 90 days are enough to test the quality of a service or product.
After 5 years of adequate service I have been down for 4. going on 5 days. Inmotion was performing an upgrade on a server and it went WAY wrong.
Instead of getting their clients up and running while they worked on the issue on the back end, they have held every one of those websites/emails etc hostage. I haven't been able to communicate with clients for 4 days. And they still have no ETA for when their equipment will be back online.
Really!!! I know a NEW server could have been built and an option to import my own data could have been done in less amount of time. I don't understand why they are so committed to resurrecting old equipment to the detriment of their clients businesses.
I Need my current incoming emails!!!!!!! This is sad..
InMotion Hosting Rocks! They were very helpful with my problem and very pleasant to talk to. They are there when you need them
InMotionHosting.com has been my email provider for over 10 years now. I think they do a pretty darn good job of keeping my business email up and running. The few times that I did have to call support they have been very fast and helpful. I would recommend them for any business as a good service provider! :-)
I did software engineering for 30 years before I shut down my business in 2008, so I’ve had contact with an awful lot of tech support outfits. Inmotion’s tech support is the best I’ve ever encountered.
InmotionHosting isn't a great hosting which i thought they are. First, when i actually contacted them before pre-sales, everything was great etc. and i opt for a reseller hosting for my business.
Once i get all my 31 clients into the reseller hosting, things starts to go haywire. There's quite a frequent short downtime, which lasted 20-30 minutes 3 to as much as 10 times a week. Furthermore, for some of my clients that are e-commerce site, the loss is quite huge.
I wouldn't want to make a big deal out of it at the moment, but today - the server was upgraded and causes 25 of my client's site to be down! All having internal server 500 error. Stating about PHP version not stable.
The site was alright, until they made the upgrade, and they told me to actually do it i.e manually updating all 25 clients with the steps they provided. It's so absurd that it takes so long for the email support team to get me an answer, and feedback, and after 5 hours it's still not sorted out. They ask me which site is down on my reseller hosting, which you actually can check it when logging in, and clicking list accounts, and open each account in a new tab, and you can easily know which site is down.
Yet, they ask me that question and ask me to provide all the account even though i've stated that more than 20 accounts are down. Regards,
I've been a customer for about three years. No problems. Customer service is always quick and ready to help me via chat or via phone, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
At times they've bent over backward to help me and even given me help they weren't supposed to give. I came from a host before them that was unresponsive and downright rude at times. If you want great customer service and good quality shared hosting at a good price, In motion is the way to go.
Not only is all this true, but they're recently upgraded their shared hosting to Dell SSDs. That's a nice selling point. There are affiliates offering discounts so search them out!
The truth is that I don’t use assiduously InMotion’s Technical Support and the reason is that usually everything works wonderfully. But when I have the need to do so, I have the pleasure of meeting a staff who devotes its time and effort to solve my problems. The feeling is not that I’m chatting with someone who only does his job, but with real people who care about what they are doing 24/7.
And that is priceless! This is my personal experience. So, if you are looking for a hosting with good support service, look no further. levinandco.com
We had been at HostGator for about 3 years with a VPS with WHM panel. HostGator was bought by another company and their service was long and tedious, with a lot of down time. So we carefully analyzed other hosting company and chose InMotion Hosting.
What A Terrible mistake. First, trying to migrate was a nightmare, and in Motion did the migration. For the next month we were down.
Then we got all kinds of spam and our emails were blacklisted on all of our 19 website (we think we got a dirty IP address from in Motion, because we were not blacklisted before the move). And then after about 30-40 hours on the phone trying to fix this... it was enough.
We moved to Green Geeks... it was so smooth and we've been up 100% since the move, AND all our emails are working. The only good thing I can say about InMotion, is they refunded our money.....But not our time, Not the money it costs us to move, Nor the time our websites were down.
And they have this very screwy 'amp' (account management program) that even Green Geeks didn't understand, that is suppose to manage everything. If you figure it out... we didn't, nor did Green Geeks. I don't write a lot of reviews, but I want others not to go through the terrible experience we had.
InMotion rocks! My previous host would take three or more days to return a phone call (they never answered an e-mail) and then several more days to solve the problem. InMotion replies to my e-mails promptly and helpfully. Thanks!
There is a lot about Web Hosting that I don't know and I don't want to know. I love InMotion Hosting because they take care of all the tough and scary stuff with grace and style. It is always a pleasure working with them.
They really don't have control of their systems. I have been unable to send emails due to a user with a compromised account. The tools they supply don't.
When I say they don't work, I mean you input correct/legitimate values and the return data is null, which is impossible based on values inputted. They won't change your IP. They will give you poor and incorrect information.
If your not sure if this is hyperbole I can assure it's not. Just amazement and frustration. Email me if you are not sure.
I will show you the email threads. Email me. It's crazy.
These guys really really really suck. My company owns or manages 200 websites for clients so I went with a dedicated server. The song and dance I got upon sign up quickly turned into a nightmare. 20-50 minute hold times, incompetence on every call, and my complete server has gone down 3 times in less than 3 weeks for hours on end.
I notice it with my monitoring, and they have no clue the sites were ever down and cannot tell me why. Also, they don't offer backups, even if you're paying $175/mth. You have to pay for it.
They recommended using Amazon S3, so I signed up and then they refused to help me at all with getting set up with it after they initially said they would. I have emails that won't work and the MX records are set up correctly. Just stay away from them - far, far away.
I want to be able to do something very simple and crucial. I want to write in LaTeX. I could use it in WordPress, for free, but it seems you guys won't let me use LaTeX. Please let me use LaTeX on a shared network.
Inmotion sucks because it takes at least 30 minutes on hold to reach support. From there, they drop the ball many times when you have urgent issues. Then, you have to call them back to let them know what they messed up.
They have a front line staff that does a really bad job of communicating with the system admins. They rely too much on email. Their security is pathetic--ask you to send passwords via email. Their prices are reasonable, but when you have an urgent issue, forget it.
Tried to simply setup account and got a continual error. Finally gave up and called company to see about a refund on my credit card. They said my card did not actually get charged.
Well guess what was on my card when the statement came in. That's right a charge for $47.70. Tried from October through 1st week of April and finally got a email that said they would send me a check because it was to late to refund to card.
Then they did not do that. SO I filed with Better Business Bureau and the company contacted me to resolve the issue. They left a message to call a particular person and gave that extension saying they only had a few days to respond to BBB.
I have left multiple messages. Now my BBB file says they did not respond to first request and BBB shows they have now sent a second request. They are supposed to be members of the BBB.
Bad business practices. Be Aware.
It sucks!!! I have been with theme for 3 years, but the last 6 months the service became to good at the worst thing that ever seem. All the days are errors sending emails, your server are on Spam lists so you can't send because there's a block, the support service is the worst, they answer your question and Close the ticket, heeey, an answer is not a solution, their char on line is always busy and always answer, check your config on outlook. In resume, if you need a serious service don't even think to get in with them
I have been with this company for 5 years now and have given many 5 star reviews in the past. I am writing this less than perfect review due to the several times in the last 12 months they have made some real headaches for me. Last week they did some updates to their servers because of the Wordpress security problems.
Well this somehow did something to all my Joomla sites and they were all showing errors and some pages not working anymore. I was on vacation when a client contacted me saying their site was riddled with php errors all over the place. I started checking and all my sites were malfunctioning.
Contacting them took a half hour and then they were adamant that it could not have been that update. After being told by the online chat that they don't support this anyway I had to call them. I finally convinced them they had screwed something up and they said they would fix it and send me a notice it was done.
Well they did fix it but never sent me a notice. Pretty annoying to say the least. Not even a sorry for the inconvenience.
The week prior to that another upgrade to the system had stopped the httpd service on my VPS account. I contacted support and the guy actually just gave me a link to the WHM instructions. I almost hit the roof.
I told him all my website were down and now you are telling me to go read up on how to fix it myself. $40 a month for hosting and I should go fix it. Who knows how long they were down either. After I got somewhat agitated with the guy he finally just explained where to do it.
It was like a 2 step process and I made him wait until I got there and tried it. Well it didn't work. Whatever they had done was more than restarting the service.
He sent it to the second level and they were able to get it fixed. Just glad I was persistent. I have learned over the years to not take their first answer.
Six months ago there was some major issues and I was back and forth with level 3 support for over 2 weeks and it was a disaster. I got a different answer every single time I got a reply from them. Each was a different support guy.
Eventually it appeared to be working again but they never admitted to anything and they all sounded like excuses to me. A bunch of technical explanations that were obviously meant to confuse me. Bottom line here is, be careful to some extent.
Be ready for some unexpected twists and turns if they make changes to anything. Also do NOT expect any apologies from them either. I guess they would have to admit the did something to warrant an apology.
To be fair, I have had some excellent support form some of the agents. These experiences even prompted me to write to their managers to tell them about it. So it's not all bad when something goes wrong.
I don't know what happened to this company. They use to be great, but I'm leaving. Spent thousands of dollars with them and all they can do is tell me that my server is, "Actually very fast and isn't showing errors." I have lost thousands due to downtime!
A year ago they got hacked. My webpage showed up with a big "This Site Hacked." At first I thought maybe it was just my site. Turns out that many of the servers at Inmotion were simultaneously hacked.
They went up on my billing last month. They forgot to pay the registration fee on my domain!!! My email didn't work for a week.
I had to call several times and each time they said we will fix it soon. Then they sent me an email to my alternate address saying that the problem was fixed. Guess what, it wasn't.
Every time I have an issue that is on their side, they respond without fixing the problem and treat me like I'm an idiot. I told the tech support I was getting 503 errors. The technician replied, "Whats that mean?"
Like I said, they were great for years and I hope they get their act back together, but it's to late for me. I am gone!
I have been using inMotion for about 5 years now. I have never had any problems with my site. The best thing I can say about them is almost never have to call them about anything. I did give them late last night and yes they were there and solve my problem in minutes.
Everything went smooth setting up. Ran into my first glitch and had to contact support for the first time. Turned out to an issue with my ISP blocking a port.
Entire chat (diagnosis and work-around) took 45 sec! Awesome.
Good support staff and explained well to me and thoroughly. Calmed me as I was upset. Thank you. Sincerely,
i really don't think that the reviews inmotionhosting.com is getting is real, i have been with thier dedicated servers for 6 months and they gave me all kind of troubles a developer can get. i reserved a dedicated server with them (the top plan) and just after purchasing you are on your own. i have ordered managed hosting with the package but this is really not helping, you have to wait for ages till somebody reply you, and every time you call them through chat its one answer (please hold for 10 minutes) and it repeats like 5 or 6 times per chat, then after all this no problem solved and the tech offer you to open a ticket. even though there is no where in thier client area to follow up with thier tickets, the website speed is really really slow, no help at all, you are really on your own.
In the beginning I thought they were great. After having them awhile I constantly get resource overage notifications. I had to remove my paid auto backup service.
Disable all worthwhile options in wordfence security and have performed all instructions they asked. I cannot keep up on manual backups for my sites with constant blogging and now have a screwed up site. I am still receiving resource warnings and seeing them high even after disabling everything but removing my websites.
I feel inmotion is trying to force me into a very expensive vps plan. They have become a nightmare!!!
I've had a number of different web hosts over the years, for 3 different websites, and inmotionhosting.com have easily given the best customer service yet. They're fair, well priced and exceptionally diligent about ensuring their customers get the service we need. Nothing but thumbs up from me.
I have been with InMotion Hosting for several years, after sticking with inferior service at Verio far too long. I can't imagine a better web hosting service than InMotion Hosting. Their tech support is always knowledgeable and courteous, and often you don't have to wait on hold more than a minute or two.
I recently had a very frustrating experience with my photo gallery installation, which had stopped allowing uploads. We tracked the problem down to an issue caused by the latest upgrade of ImageMagick. IMH had one tech support person after another working on it around the clock until it was fixed.
Who would believe that kind of support on inexpensive shared hosting? What most impressed me about them is that last year, when my wifi network was hacked and the hackers broke into my web hosting account using my own user ID and password and started wreaking havoc, In Motion Hosting clamped down the security and stopped them. These hackers/ID thieves were persistent, and repeatedly called companies I did business with impersonating me, trying to get my passwords by giving out identifying information.
They repeatedly got into my email at Comcast, but InMotion Hosting foiled them completely -- week after week. I can't imagine another other corporation's customer service department doing something like that. This is a model company.
Prompt, live customer service is vital to me to move ahead with my business. Inmotion hosting customer service is well educated, local US, around the clock available. Super important to me to get answers whenever I need them and talk to a knowledgeable expert.
I signed up for InMotion on a shared hosting plan just over a year ago at the promotional half price; I have just renewed at full price as a happy customer. In my opinion, their greatest strength is excellent technical support and customer service. The hosting service itself has deliver me fast, responsive websites; the communication has been great; the features are full-fledged and convenient; and the uptime has been good.
I have submitted them positive feedback directly more than once before, so decided to write this review. The level of service I have experienced with InMotion has kept me as a loyal customer; I have found that to be a rarity in today's business world.
InMotion has great customer support. One of my clients recently had a problem with blocked email and I didn't know if it was on her end or mine. Not only was it great to receive an email response within a reasonable amount of time, but in Motion also answered my question about what had happened more thoroughly than my client's own service provider!
In my three years with InMotion Hosting I can honestly say it has been nothing but a positive experience. They have excellent support whether live chatting or over the phone. Their servers support all of the latest technology and services.
Their prices have been incredibly reasonable. I will be renewing my service with them for the 4th year next month and am looking forward to it. Anytime I have had a question or concern regarding my website it has been taken care of, even when its not their responsibility.
For instance one time my Wordpress installation updated and some compatibility issues crashed my site. They were able to restore my previous installation from their backups and wait out the Wordpress dependency updates. If you are looking for a great web host consider InMotion Hosting.
Inmotion hosting support is outstanding. Not only do they offer 24 hour support, their representatives are knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. Not only do the representatives help you while you are on the phone with them (and the wait times are very reasonable), they provide additional resources by email. They also have great tutorials in their help section.
InMotion's service offerings are competitive with more established providers and I have no issue with those things. However, their support is so abysmal that I simply cannot recommend them in any case. Due to their negligent and careless support, in the past 24 hours, I have permanently lost nearly seven months of blog posts (between 40 and 60) that I might be able to reconstruct from local files. Backing up one's one database is absolutely Essential and/or it's always worth paying a bit extra to ensure the ISP will backup your files on a daily basis.
I'm very happy with InMotion Hosting. I've received fabulous customer service. They put my old hosting company to shame.
I've been with InMotion Hosting for about 3 months now and I am definitely moving my site to a different provider. The main reasons: too much unplanned downtime and overall very slow performance when the site is actually up. I subscribe to pingdom for monitoring and it reported 233 incidents of downtime in the past 3 months.
Many of them are 5-10 minutes long, others are 30 min or more. The last and the worst outage lasted for 24 hours and I am fed up. The worst part is their support structure is completely opaque.
You get to front-line support and all they can do is tell you a standard response: "Thank you. Systems administration has identified an issue with the server that houses your account which requires their immediate attention. They are working diligently to resolve this issue which we hope shouldn't take long.
Unfortunately, we are limited on details and do not have a time frame for resolution, but you are welcome to check back with us every so often. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing you and appreciate your patience." - that's a quote from the actual chat with one of their support folks. Every time I pressured for actual reason of downtime, they'd tell me that "Any sort of past downtime would require an in-depth resource review of the server, which doesn't lend itself well to chat.
I would recommend you submit these pingdom results to us, and ask what the cause for the downtime was via email to email@example.com."
The root cause of the problem, of cause, is that their admins are either careless or simply don't know how to keep services consistently up and running. They also don't listen to their customers' recommendations. I actually ran Unix and Linux-based hosting for large outfits for over 10 years and I know that if Your Site consistently gets the error message "Error establishing a database connection" it's time to check the MySQL server for any software misconfigurations or hardware issues.
Unfortunately, their answer is always "Our admins have restarted the server". They never bother to do any sort of in-depth troubleshooting, so if you do run into an issue, it will never be fixed. In short: Highly urge to stay away from Inmotion Hosting
I just moved my website to InMotion Hosting and have been very pleased thus far. Here's a copy of a message I sent to one of their Support managers:
"I am writing to express my appreciation for the exemplary support services I received today from Juan, one of your support techs. He was courteous, patient, professional, diligent, and proficient as he worked to resolve the evidently complex problems with my website.
I migrated my site only yesterday after having become increasingly frustrated with the tech support offered by my previous hosting provider. One of the primary reasons that I elected to move to InMotion Hosting was the promise of excellent tech support, and in his efforts today, Juan certainly fulfilled that promise. Please convey my thanks to Juan for his assistance today. In my opinion, he represents InMotion Hosting exceedingly well, and you are lucky to have him on your team."
Great 24hr support. Affordable hosting. No bandwidth or storage limitations. And the servers support all the languages that I need.
I host a few scripts as backends for iPhone apps, as well as occasional temporary sites. Never had any problems with the hosting, uptime, or emails. Excellent service, everything I need and the customer support is always there to help. Thanks, in Motion!
Inmotion Hosting has fast and reliable servers, my website as of this moment writing, has been up for almost a hundred straight days. As satisfied as I am with this, when I am in a jam, their customer service is top notch. I prefer the online chat method of contacting them, and every time I had a question or some issue, they always had a solution for me.
InMotion Hosting Rocks since they offer 24/7 support that actually offers 24/7 support and it doesn't stop there. They have helped me with 3rd party software and templates more than once and think out of the box when they try to come up with solutions instead of the standard "Read The Manual" or "Sorry Our Support Doesn't Cover That" answers. So far, 0% downtime after more than a year of having multiple sites online, 100% positive answers on my support questions and 0 trouble with my hosting so far.
Personally, I don't know what a hosting company can do more. And btw, their pricing, as far as I can say, is more than reasonable for what you get.
IMH is great. As a dedicated server customer, other ISP provides very limited tech support. IMH not only keeps updating our software - cPanel but provides very prompt technical support. I have had used 1and1, Godaddy and others in the past, but IMH is the best among all of them.
I've used InMotion for several years now and I've never had anything but a positive experience. Their superior customer service begins as soon as you click buy for their services. They'll help you setting up Your Site and if you have any technical difficulties, they're there to help you through it all.
I've changed domains several times and they're always willing to work with me about transferring and/or cancelling domains and websites. Best of all, the technical support is always great. You tell them what's wrong and they'll fix it.
Period. I've backed myself in some nasty corners with my websites and they have always fixed it just right. I'll never use another service. I'm a loyal InMotion customer through and through.
I have been with InMotion Hosting since "2008", and from the very first call back then until my most recent calls the service has always been super! However, last week I not only called for tech support once that week but three times in the same day, and even though I spoke with different technicians it was like I was speaking to the same one. You see, each previous tech took such great notes that each one that followed knew exactly where to pick up with my concerns.
Some of my recalls were for new concerns and some was simply to make sure I was following the expert advise that was given to me verbally or by way of the follow-up links that were sent to me. The voices on the other side of the phone were always up beat, professional, kind, and gave such great patience to my many questions. Let me just say in short...InMotion Hosting tech support Rocks!!! Peace and Love, Hadiah
Great support from chat and technicians, it's efficient and fast. Same thought from last year "It seems everyone there is always willing to help". Also it has a great reseller hosting plan with too many usefull tools as well as many hosting plans (business, VPS, dedicated) to choose from accordingly to my needs.
BlueHost hosted our web site for about eight years. Started out okay but became horrendously bad. So I switched to InMotion.
From the signup to final launch, I was able to get terrific chat and phone support quickly, effectively and very pleasantly. Wish I had discovered InMotion years ago. James A.

Choosing InMotion Hosting was the best decision I made for my website. Their customer service has been what makes them stand out from other hosting services. Frankly, just the people that they hire to be on all of their teams, not one person I have had contact with in my entire process with when working with InMotion has been negative or in any way, shape, or form bad.
To say that is impressive is an understatement, because let's be honest for a second, sooner or later there would end up being a bad egg in a batch of good eggs, it is going to happen. Throughout my numerous calls with sales, support, and management, everyone has not only been pleasant, but they have been wonderful to work with. Just about all hosting companies these days can offer about the same options.
The SSD storage does indeed stand out with InMotion Hosting, but for me, it is the service that really makes the company because at the end of the day it doesn't matter how good a product is if the support structure of the product isn't up to the amazing standard the product projects. InMotion Hosting really knocked the ball out of the park with this one. All of the reps I worked with, specifically DanWA and Adam C were wonderful to work with. I would recommend InMotion Hosting to anyone looking for hosting services because you truly do get what you pay for.
From: $ 3.99 / Month
