Interserver: What Coupons Are Available for June 2018?
Founded in 1999, Interserver is a hosting company with a solid reputation for providing reliable hosting solutions and skilled technical support. They serve a range of website owners from individual freelancers to Fortune 500 companies.
Interserver offers a range of hosting services, including shared hosting, VPS, and cloud hosting; dedicated servers; and reseller accounts. Their VPS hosting is available at very reasonable prices. It's customizable depending on the resources you need.
You can see what current and past customers think about InterServer on the InterServer review page.
We have an exclusive InterServer coupon code that will get you a month of hosting for almost free (one penny) on most plans. More details are below.
First Month For $.01
If you click on any of the big buttons on this page that link to InterServer's website, the coupon will be automatically applied when you order most plans.
In some cases, it isn't, so it's a good idea to copy down the coupon code now, which is "WHOISHOST".
You'll enter this code near the end of the checkout process.
The coupon can be applied to all standard web hosting services on InterServer, which is your typical shared hosting. You'll be charged $0.01 for the first month.
The coupon can also be applied to VPS hosting plans, but with limitations.
If you apply it to a VPS using the OpenVZ platform, you get the first month for $0.01. The OpenVZ platform uses a typical Linux operating system.
If you opt for a Windows cloud VPS instead, you'll still receive a 50% discount for the first month, but it'll be more than a penny.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Using Our InterServer Coupon Code
In my experience, InterServer's website and checkout process can be a little confusing.
So let's break down the main steps into more detail so that you can be 100% sure that you're getting the best price possible.
Step #1 - Copy Down the Coupon Code and Click a Button on This Page
Again, the coupon code is "WHOISHOST".
While you can manually find your way to InterServer's website, the far easier way is to click one of the large buttons on this page that say "Get our InterServer deal".
All buttons point to the same page but will apply the coupon automatically in most cases.
Step #2 - Browse InterServer for Shared Web Hosting or Cloud VPS Hosting Plans
There are 2 main links in the top menu bar of InterServer's website that you should use:
"VPS and Cloud" is self-explanatory. Clicking on "Web hosting" takes you to shared hosting options.
As mentioned above, the coupon only applies to shared web hosting or VPS hosting packages.
You'll know if you're on the right page (if you clicked a button on this page here) because you'll see a bright orange coupon that contains the coupon code in it:
You should see a bright orange/red ribbon across the top of the page displaying our discount code.
Step #3 - Choose a Hosting Package
Here's where it may get tricky.
If you choose a standard web hosting plan, it's fairly simple.
You'll need to enter a domain that you already own, or enter one that you'd like to register through InterServer.
Type in the domain name that you want.
Then, you'll be asked to fill out a form of basic account details.
Now if you chose an InterServer VPS plan, expect to spend a few minutes here, as the checkout process is a little tricky.
First, you may want to click and drag the slider to view different storage and speed configurations. You'll instantly see how the price changes:
You'll be asked to create an account (just email and password).
After you've done that, you can choose the hosting options for your VPS plan:
The 2 most important options are the platform and the coupon fields.
If the coupon code is not there, paste or type it in now.
Step #4 - Review Your Order and Pay
If you chose a shared hosting plan, the last section will show you a recap of your order.
The coupon should be automatically inserted here, but if it isn't, now is the time to put it in yourself.
From there, checkout by paying with PayPal or a credit card.
Similarly, if you chose a VPS plan, you'll be able to review your order.
You can pay by credit card or PayPal as well to finish ordering.
InterServer and its Competitors
InterServer has cheap plans and a few features that help them stand out as a web hosting provider.
The most interesting one is that they offer a really wide variety of operating system options.
Interserver offers these operating system options:
- Windows 2012 R2
- Windows 2016
- Scientific Linux (a rebuild sponsored by the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory)
- CERN Linux
And five other operating systems!
InterServer Competitors to Consider
While InterServer does have its strengths, it has weaknesses as well.
The most glaring one is that it can be awfully confusing, even if you have experience with web hosting. The site and platform itself are just not polished, especially when it comes to VPS plans.
Also, while there is 24/7 phone support and email support, live chat is not guaranteed 24/7 (although often available). The quality of support documentation is a bit weak and they are difficult to navigate.
Here are 3 alternatives that address either of those issues:
Liquid Web - A more expensive host, but their servers are top notch, with a 100% uptime guarantee. They also have a reputation for having one of the best support teams and documentation available. Take a look at customer reviews on our Liquid Web review page, and you'll see what I mean.
WP Engine - If all you want is to get a simple website up and running with minimal hassle, WP Engine is a good option. They only offer one type of hosting - WordPress hosting. All plans are managed, which means that you don't need to spend much time setting up and managing servers. Here's our review page for WP Engine.
Q&As on our InterServer Discount Coupon
What types of payment do they accept?
You can pay via Paypal, or via credit card (MasterCard, Discover, Visa, or American Express). With Interstellar, you can store multiple credit cards.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Shared hosting accounts have a 30-day money-back guarantee, but there is no refund guarantee for other types of hosting plans (VPS, dedicated, etc.).
Will my price go up when my hosting plan renews?
While most hosting companies advertise a special reduced rate that only applies to your first payment term, Interserver is different. They have a price lock guarantee: the price a consumer signs up for with InterServer is their guaranteed lifetime locked in price, with no special conditions, exclusions and fine print whatsoever. That means that your price will not suddenly increase when your hosting account is renewed — the price they advertise is your real price.
Does Interserver provide a website backup service?
They do run weekly backups of all accounts, but they note in their terms of service: "Clients are responsible for frequently backing up their files on our system. Interserver cannot be held responsible for the deletion of users' files, whether intentional or unintentional."
With the Managed WordPress shared hosting package, you also get daily backups.
What extra features come with the Managed WordPress hosting plan?
You may wonder why the WordPress plan costs more even though they only allow one website, while the basic hosting plan is cheaper and allows unlimited websites.
Well, the WordPress plan includes a few extra features specifically for WordPress sites. Namely, you get:
- Daily backups
- Daily GIT Revisions
- Atomic Mod Security
- Hacked WordPress Cleanup
- Daily Virus Scan
The hacked WordPress cleanup is especially useful. Many web hosts will provide limited technical support for hacked websites, and expect you to solve your own issues.Get Our Interserver Deal
