domainFactory In 2018: What Do domainFactory Client Reviews Say?

DomainFACTORY Introduction

Founded in 2000 and serving over 180,000 customers, DomainFACTORY is one of the biggest hosting companies for German speaking nations. They offer a full range of hosting services for individuals, businesses, and enterprises with shared, managed, and reseller plans. Since 2001, they’ve been a member of the HEG group, Europe’s largest privately-owned hosting company; basically, the Europe version of the Endurance International Group. DomainFACTORY is a carbon-neutral hosting company.

Services & Specializations

DomainFACTORY offers three core products – shared, dedicated, and reseller hosting. In addition to these three, they have a wide range of add-on services like email hosting, domain registration, SSL certificates, and cloud-based system backups. Their shared hosting packages are fairly standard, and include:

  • SSD disks
  • Unlimited domains
  • 1-click installs for common applications like WordPress and Joomla
  • POP3 and IMAP email with viral protection
  • Daily backups

More comprehensive plans include more storage and more processing power with less customers per server.

To cater to their enterprise clients, DomainFACTORY also offers managed dedicated server options . These are run with a standard LAMP setup using Gentoo Linux and come with at least RAID1 storage (this can be upgraded to RAID10).

Their last core product is reseller hosting. Their reseller plans are hosted on SSDs and come with DomainFACTORY’s proprietary control panel for billing and account management.

In addition to their core services, DomainFACTORY also has a few notable add-ons. They offer simple managed or unmanaged email services. Their managed option is powered by Microsoft Exchange. They also have a cloud backup service powered by Acronis that’s perfect for both businesses and individuals. This is an unlimited backup service that comes with a 14 day money back guarantee and a discount if you sign a longer contract. They also offer SSL certificates.

DomainFactory, overall, is very good, with amazing features and support. I can pay really cheap monthly because I’m in struggling on money and they have a nice User Interface. Over All, I think it’s amazing and would definitely recommend it to everyone who may want to pay on the go and to people first starting off coding

Datacentre and Network

DomainFACTORY runs their services out of one datacentre in Munich, Germany. Their datacentre has technical staff on hand 24/7, firewall protection, and on-site protection via CCTV and controlled access. Their datacentre also includes fire suppression and climate control. DomainFACTORY is connected to four 10 Gbit backbone service providers for optimal reliability.

Support and Customer Service

DomainFACTORY offers various kinds of support. They offer phone support 7am to 10pm during the week and on Saturdays. They also have 24/7 email support and live chat. Finally, they have a robust German language forum, a FAQ, and they post status messages about outages and system problems on their website. You can link to an RSS feed. They also have a premium VIP service option that you can add to any package, which is essentially a dedicated support person 9-5 Monday to Friday. Outside those hours, any requests you have are processed by a special on-call VIP service team.

Backups & Security

DomainFACTORY offers all of their shared hosting customers free daily backups. These are stored for about three days. For their managed servers, they also have a spare server on hand. Should anything happen to the machine that you’re using, they immediately transfer your disks to the spare server while they fix yours.

For security, they offer all of their customers anti-viral email protection. For their managed servers, their operations team handles security. They do via a managed firewall, monitoring all ports, and with general systems security updates and patches.

Uptime Guarantee

DomainFACTORY guarantees 99.9% uptime on an annual average. This is guaranteed in their service level agreement.

Billing & Payment Policies

DomainFACTORY offers all of their customers a 60 day money back guarantee. This includes everything, so if you do cancel within 60 days you’re absolutely covered. It even covers you if you choose to change plans. For example, if you’re on a shared hosting plan and want to try a managed server plan, you can and you’ll be covered for the first 60 days. This does exclude any add-on services like domain registrations and SSL certificates.

DomainFACTORY accepts payments every month, every three months, every six months, or every year. They have discounts available for longer plans. If you want to cancel your plan, then you have to inform DomainFACTORY one month before the your next payment, or else it renews automatically.

Conclusion

All in all, DomainFACTORY is a standard hosting company with a couple of nice features. They offer all the basics you’d expect. But their SSDs available for all their plans and their comprehensive 60 money back guarantee make them a cut above the rest. Their German language help forum is going to be a huge source of information for German speaking users who might struggle to find native language support elsewhere. DomainFACTORY is a superb choice for any German speaking individual or company who is looking for a dependable partner who’s going to make hosting easy.
